How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store?It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Lexar 512MB Memory Stick Pro, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera.These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

Best CD/DVD envelopes out there.
I've tried more types of CD and DVD storage devices and techniques than I'd care to admit, and these envelopes are the best.The capability of holding more than one disk is great, but the capper is the flap that holds a label (provided) with the disk title.

When they're stored in a simple box such as Fellowes' own fake-leather "CD Box" (great, but very hard to find) you can store an INCREDIBLE number of disks in a small space and it's easy to riffle through the titles because you can flip the label flaps easily without removing the envelopes from the box.

I challenge anyone to find a more compact method of storing disks!

Fellows CD Sleeve Pack
This product is made of tyvek type material, which is indestructable.It's a great storage media for organizing and storing your CD's, as you can insert a customized label into the little space at the top, which is provided in the box with the sleeves.I just wish these included labels were loadable into the printer, but all in all, a great product!

Organize Those CD's!
I literally have 100's of CD's lying around the house and recently took it upon myself to organize (most of) them;) I considered those CD storage books/wallets but didn't like the fact that they make alphabetical sorting a nightmare (i.e. making room for one CD on a certain page requires moving 10 pages worth of CD's!). That's where these CD sleeves come in - put your CD"s in these sleeves, then store 'em in a box and access them like old-fashioned library cards. Fellowes even sells a nice 100-disk-capacity stackable box that comes with 25 of these sleeves.

These sleeves are double-sided. Each can hold 2 CD's or 1 CD plus a booklet. The width of each sleeve is slightly wider than a std CD, and at the top is a 3/4" tab/flap - very handy for writing/ataching a label and for pulling the sleeve out of a box. The construction appears to be good - not thin, cheap plastic that might easily tear or rip.

My only complaint is with the design of the finger-hole used to extract the CD from the sleeve - its in the shape of a keyhole rather than an open "U". This makes it a little difficult to pull out CD's when there are two in the sleeve (you can solve this with a pair of scissors if it bothers you).

Overall, these sleeves provide a high-density storage solution at a reasonable cost, especially when you purchase the higher-count package. ... Read more

Haven't had a coaster yet
I've burned 75 of these discs and haven't had a coaster yet.75 for 75.they burn at 24x..which is fine.i just love these.i collect old vinyls and this makes my newer music look cool as well.get em while they're hot...

Every other CD is a dud...
I bought these blank CDs to make some audio mixes with.They look really cool and are much more fun to look at then the usual dull shiny or matted CDs you get.However, looks only go so far.Every other CD I've burned with has been a dud.I have a great TDK Burner, 48X speed, and use the latest version of Nero.Doesn't matter b/c the CD's themselves don't seem to want to work every time.I've only been able to successfully use about 50% of the CDs in this spindle and won't be buying anymore of this line from Verbatim til they fix their quality issues in manufacturing these CDs.My $12 50-pack spindle Target-brand CDs have worked like a charm and I haven't hit a dud with a single one of those yet.In this case you definitely don't get what you pay for. ... Thank God, it works!
I bought two of these for my Dell Inspiron 8500.They actually worked (both of them ;-D), and well, too.I use a Philips SDVD6004 DVD-Burner (on an Inspiron 8500), and these Sony disks work infinitely better than the Memorex DVD+R's (I burned 6 coasters- out of all 6 burn attempts- using the Memorex DVD's).

Really not much else to say, except these WORK, unlike the Memorex DVD+Rs.Plus, if you have some problem burning these Sony's, you can always erase the disk and try again.

Discs works quite well. No problem using my Sony DRU 500-A DVD burner.

Works fine with Philips products

This is a great card adapter. The user who thought it would convert an xD card to a Compact Flash was misinformed and their rating should be held against this product. This card allows you to put your xD or SmartMedia memory card into your PCMCIA-equipped laptop to transfer pictures, etc. It works great and is highly recommended for the price. The only thing I can add to the previous review is that the Smartmedia was well packaged. There is a statement with the card that says "The Smartmedia has a limited life span, and will eventually become incapable of performing WRITE/ERASE functions after long-term use. When this happens please replace it with a new one." If this is the case will all Smartmedia cards then what is long-term? I've only has mine about 3 weeks so far.

Might not be worth the price premium
SmartMedia is sold under several brands. Olympus branded SmartMedia allowsyou to take "panorama" shots. Essentially, you take multipleshots while making sure to overlap edges. You then reassemble thesemultiple shots using the "Camedia" software that came with yourOlympus camera. The difference is that when an Olympus brand SmartMediacard isused, your digital camera keeps exposure settings constant acrossthese multiple shots; which makes for a consistent panorama when youreassemble the individual shots via your computer.

This is a nicefeature, but not a feature most of us use often; for example, on a recenttwo week trip, I took 220 shots of which only 12 were panorama. If you aregoing to purchase multiple SmartMedia cards, you might be able to do withjust one or two Olympus brand cards - especially since they cost more thanother brands. I use two other brand SmartMedia cards, and save my Olympusbrand cards for when panorama shots present (since you can switch the cardsout at anytime - unlike traditional camera film).

Best Music CD-R
I've tried different name brand manufacturers over the years and Maxell is the best out there. The disc will play in any cd player out there, even an old one I have from 1984!

Plus Maxell is the ONLY brand I have found that will not skip in a car or portable. Seems better than even standard factory made music CDs

Great Audio CD-R's
A few years ago, I had a 50 spindle of these Maxell CD-R's. They worked great for me. I've used them for making personal mixes, and they still play fine til this day. I believe these CD-R's came out in 2001. CD-R's that were sold back then seem to be better than the ones being sold today. Most of the new music CD-R's I've purchased today are either defective, or just won't play in certain stereo systems. These particular CD-R's played in every stereo I've used so far.
So, if you're looking into purchasing these, I'd have to say that you're making a good choice.

Maxell Audio CDRs Now Poor Quality!
Buyer beware: this is no longer the same product. Maxell has recently changed their audio CDRs.Formally, they were manufactured in Japan; now they are made in Taiwan. All the older Maxell discs would play in EVERYTHING. However, a large percentage of discs in this new CDR media are defective. The new discs will no longer play in my Panasonic boom box or in my Honda car stereo.Worse, some of these CDs will fail to play in anything after a few days.

Best on the market
For me these have been the best CD's on the market.I basically used this brand because they were the ones I generally used when transferring my albums to cassette.The same quality continues.

I personally never liked using Fuji or Sony recording media in the past.TDK wasn't bad with cassettes; however, my record with CD-R's with them has been 25 wasted discs out of a spindle of 50.I have so far used hundreds of the Maxells (this line and their others) and have only had one or two discs I had to discard due to errors.

Also, all the ones I made a few years ago still sound great.

These are the best CD-R's for both price and performance.

I was surprised to see the results the prior reviewer had in using these music CD-Rs.I have been using the Maxell CD-Rs for three years and I have never had a problem.The home audio CD Recorder that I use is the Sony RCD-W1 and I get a perfect copy every time with the Maxell CD-Rs.I know some CD burners on PCs can use music/audio CD-Rs to make copies but I know that there are occasional burn/read errors when using them.In that situation, I suggest sticking to regular CD-Rs.I have a stack of burned Maxell CD-Rs that I am alwasys listening to in my car and to date play flawlessly. ...
