5-0 out of 5 stars Versatile and Quality Memory Card
I bought this card for my Kodak CX7430. 256 mb is more than enough for my needs. I have been using it for a while now and am very pleased with it. The card is easily puts the pictures from my camera onto my computer. There have never been any errors or file corruptions. The memory card is particularly easy for me because I have a slot for it in the front of my CPU. For people who do not have this slot, the camera can hook up to the computer and transfer files from both the internal memory and the card. I recommend Kingston because I have never had a problem with any of their products, and they offer a lifetime warrenty.

3-0 out of 5 stars Informed Consumer
Having worked in the memory business, J.Chang is right that Kingston is a large company, but they are the largest memory MODULE maker in the world, mostly for DRAM product.Eugene's comment regarding them being a buyer of chip product is right, and he's also correct from what I've seen in return rates for Kingston, Sandisk, Lexar, etc. in that there are more defects because Kingston does not product their own chips like Sandisk. They only package the product as well as the controller chip (which also they do not make).Samsung, who Kingston purchases from, does not sell cards in the US They only package the product.

Personally, as a consumer, I bought Kingston and Sandisk, and found the data transfer rate to be faster on the Sandisk.I don't dare want to lose a picture from a potential defect, even though the chances of this is low for either product.I'll go with Sandisk from now on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kingston is a Great Brand
I just wanted to counter one of the reviewer's posts that Kingston is a no name generic brand. Kingston is the largest independant memory provider in the world. I have this card and it works great.

1-0 out of 5 stars No More Generic Brandnames for Me
My sister purchased a Kingston 256 SDs recently for my Optio DSC.I recently purchased a 1 G Sandisk SD for my camcorder (Panasonic SV-AV100) which works very well, but my sister borrows it a lot, and I then use my sister's Optio DSC if I want to take pictures on a night out in town.

Let me say, the delivery by Amazon was on time and great, but that's about where the happiness ends with Kingston product. After taking pictures at my elementary school friend's wedding, I couldn't load the pictures on my computer...I found that the files were somehow ruined through a computer read cycle.Memories..gone just like that.I contacted Kingston who said they would send my sister a new one, but it has been 2 weeks.I am infuriated.

The 32 MB card the camera came with works fine.I'm never buying Kingston again. As an explanation for their lower quality product...i heard that Sandisk actually makes most of their NAND flash chips which is packaged into the card..vertically integrated from top to bottom and in control of manufacturing process, unlike the Generic low-quality brands like Kingston which must buy from Samsung or another foundry.Too many hands touching it = more prone to error.

I'm not going to get some great pictures I took back again.3 DOLLAR SAVINGS NOT WORTH IT.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Price, Great Product
I brought this memory card for my iPAQ Pocket PC, mainly to store my music files on.Although this can approximately only hold about 60 songs, its big enough for me.This is a great card that has a good amount of memory, and is very cheap. So cheap that buying several of these are more affordable than buying bigger size cards.Overall, if your looking for a memory card, deffinatly get this. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I was a bit nervous burning one of these, because the thought of a $7.00 coaster did not excite me.

However, my fears were unjustified. It burned flawlessly. It's awesome to have 8.5GB of data on one disk.

1-0 out of 5 stars how to use them????
Ok, I have the dvd9s but for some reason no one seems to know how to make a movie with them. I have the latest version of Nero and windvd creator 2. Well, Nero recognizes them, and burns the DVD, but the DVD-movie is only recognized in a DL drive not a regular one (made late 2004) and WinDVD creator 2 doesn't seem to even recognize the dvd9.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love these DVD+R DLs
As of this date, I have used approximately 6 of these DVDs, without any problems at all.Although it takes a while to process, I don't just sit and stare at the monitor, I'm busy doing something, so the time still flies.Sometimes I think it is so accurate because of the slow speed. All I an say is the results have been flawless, no problems at all. I have tried them on several standalone DVD players, with no issues at all.I used a sony DVD RW drive.

4-0 out of 5 stars these are great!
Verbatium is known for its media all around the world, and it should shock anyone that their dual-layer DVD+Rs are great!

I have burned things with them with no problems!

Yes, there is a 2.4 burn speed, but most dual-layer drives out right now can't burn past that anyways, so anyone complaining about that, well, get over it until something newer and better comes out.

Now - if for some reason you are trying to burn movies, be very cautious. Most older DVD players (anything made before 2004) might have some issues playing these discs. Also, if you use a PlayStation 2 to view your movies, a lot of the older models will not play them or will have little compatability. This is due to the new media not being supported, but the majority of new dvd players and newer models of the PS2 should play movies with ease.

These are the best dual-layer DVD+Rs.

My only gripe, as I'm sure it is with everyone else - the price.$20 seems like a decent price for the three-pack - paying close to $10 a disc - a little steep for many, especially since dual-layer drives seem to be in a lot of stores, but you can't find the media anywhere...

...I can only hope this changes.

Overall - a great product.A little pricy, but, somewhat worth it for now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent media quality
Quick Summary: Burns at 2.4x or 4x on Plextor 716A burner; Verbatim DVD+R DL burned with the Plextor 716A is PLAYABLE in EVERY DVD Player (at least 20 and counting) I have tried!!!Awesome.

Full article:
I recently used the Verbatim DVD+R DL media to back up a couple of my most popular DVD's.The original was 8.1GB in size and contained about 50 music videos.I couldn't get it to squeeze down to fit on a single layer disc.Verbatim DVD+R DL to the rescue!

Using my new Plextor PX-716A burner (an excellent DVD Burner!), I used the included PlexTools program to make a copy of my DVD.Note, the original DVD is not protected in any way.

I burned the DVD+R DL at 4x speed (approx. 28 min. to burn). There is a selection in the Plextor's software to "overwrite" the book type of the DVD+R DL so that it looks like a pressed dual-layer DVD to settop DVD players (to avoid a confusing older DVD players).I used this setting (it is by default) to burn the DVD.

When it comes to DVD burning, there is no better test than the compatiblilty and quality test of the burned disc. The test is simple, put the burned DVD in as many players as you can and seehow many can and cannot read it.Well, I have to say that I have tested this DVD+R DL in over 20 DVD players so far, and ALL have played it with NO COMPATIBILITY issues whatsoever. This finding is as good as or better than all DVD+R and DVD-R (single layer) I have ever used.

After having read all the reviews on the web about how incompatible burned DVD+R DL discs are, I have to say, the Plextor 716A and Verbatim DVD+R DL combination blows everything else away.

Yes, the discs are kinda expensive, but if you have valuable or irreplaceable DVDs to back up, they will work for you.As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Viking 128MB Secure Digital Card, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Slower than molasses--until I formatted it.
NOTE TO EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS CARD--I reformatted it in my camera and it works fine now!!
Initially I wrote:
I was very disappointed in the shot-to-shot speed with this card (using a Minolta Xg).The Panasonic card that came with the camera, which I thought would be cheap, is THREE TIMES FASTER than this "upgrade".This card is useless to me as it cripples the camera I bought it to work in.It takes FOURTEEN SECONDS from one shot to the next with this card. With the original card, it's less than four seconds. The claim that this is a "high speed" card is dishonest. This is the slowest card I've ever used.I will throw this card away rather than curse someone else with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great for me!
I haven't had one problem with this card at all. I'm super happy that I bought it & I had a bonus to get a rebate.. woo hoo!

1-0 out of 5 stars average card, very bad customer service.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The lady who alledged to be the customer service supervisor said:"You got it cheaper than other brands, what else do you expect?" "Viking cheats. So what?"

1-0 out of 5 stars Slow, unreliable, power-hungry; better choices elsewhere
I got this Viking 1GB CF card for cheap at my local Staples a month ago because they had a huge rebate offer, making this dirt cheap.I got it as a backup card for my Nikon D70 digital camera.I've been very unhappy with it, after using it on my trip to Vegas last week.

First, it's SLOW.Like other digital SLR cameras, the Nikon D70 can take 2 or 3 pictures per second, but when the memory card is slow, the camera slows down to 1 picture per second. With my workhorse Lexar 1GB 40x CF card, I can do 3 pictures/sec easily, but with the Viking, I could barely do 1 pic/sec, which frustrated me a lot when I tried to shoot the dancing fountain in front of Bellagio.

Second, this card seems to be unreliable.I've taken over 2000 shots on my Lexar and haven't had any problems, but with the Viking, 4 of the 80 shots also I took with it became corrupted.Ok, this was a one-time thing, but I had had problems with Viking cards before ("you get what you pay for", alas), and apparently their quality assurance has not improved.

Third, this card is very power hungry, to the point of being ridiculous. With my Lexar in my Nikon D70, I can take hundreds of pictures per charge. When I was in Vegas, I had a freshly recharged battery in my camera when I put in this card, and the battery went out after only 50 pictures!I just couldn't believe it.I don't think any other factor contributed to this, as it was almost 60 degrees in Vegas at the time (~7 pm) and the weather was great.I popped in my spare battery (also fully charged), and after 20 shots or so the battery lost one of three bars.I was very unhappy with this.Of course, the reliability problem mentioned above was even worse.

Viking is the value brand of some company which I can't remember which one.Trust me on this: get a reliable memory card, because you don't want to risk losing data, esp. important data.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great memory card for my Jornada 720 Palmtop!
I've been using Viking cards for a long time know.My first CF card was Kingston 16MB costing me about $60 in 2000.I then got a 32MB San Disk card for like $40 in 2002.I then ditched SanDisk and Kingston and went to Viking in late 2002 and have been using them ever since.Well just last week bought this CF card for $88!Its amazing how cheap and how much disk space you get with these cards.

Viking has worked for me and is plenty fast for my needs.Sure since I do not work with video I may not notice the speed problems, but for what I do this card is great!I am going to transfer a ton of songs and photos over to my Jornada, know since I have the disk space! My PC laptop is running out of space, so this card could help free up some space a little.

Thanks Viking!

3-0 out of 5 stars Slow.
I was baptized by fire on my learning curve of flash memory speed. My digital camera can take movies at 640x480 at 30 frames per second (about 1.2MB/sec), but forget about doing something like that with this product. To my memory, I could still take them at 15fps or 320x240 at at least 15fps and possibly 30fps too, which is fast enough for most people taking snapshots and uploading via a USB 1 connection, which is inherently limited at 1MB/sec anyway.

Amazon was great about the return, and I returned the kindness with a purchase of a Sandisk Ultra II ("40x") card, which even at 40x and a write-acceleration-enabled camera, isn't quite fast enough for me, but still loads faster than this one. I think Sandisk rates this card at 4x or 6x or something. I could take about 15sec of vga/30 movie before my camera buffer overflowed. I can take about about 60sec with the 40x Ultra II, continuous. Apparently the real-world write speed of my Ultra II in my camera (varies from cam to cam) is just below my camera's write speed requirements.

I personally am waiting for the retail release of the Seagate ST1 CF hard drive, a competitor to Hitachi's Microdrive. The ST1 will be in 2.5GB and 5GB format; an OEM 5-gigger is currently being used in the Rio Carbon MP3 player, and the 2.5GB is apparently used in Seagate's USB 2.0 portable storage solution, both available at Amazon. The Seagates seem to be a lot less fragile than the Hitachi's. Barring that, I'd consider the Lexar 80x card or anything by Lexar, for that matter, over Sandisk.

If you don't have a write-acceleration-capable camera, this may be the deal you were looking for, but I was surprised to see the number of reliability complaints here. This card probably ideal for portable media players. I doubt I'd trust it for a Pocket PC, though. Enthusiasts should look for another card, but cheapies might want to splurge. After reading my Sandisk warranty, by the way, I was not impressed. I don't remember why, I'm sorry, but there was a very real reason which could be found with research in forums. I don't think I would buy Sandisk now at all; Lexar seems to have better reliability, truer specs, and I think a better warranty policy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Value. Educate Yourself Before You Buy
The fact of the matter is, at the time of writing this review, there is no better value (GB/$) than this 1 GB disk. It is not as fast as many that you can purchase, but even for me taking wedding photos, my on-camera cache is enough to compensate for that speed. For the average or even semi-professional photographer (unless your goal is to be taking many rapid-fire shots) even this slow speed should be more than enough.

Vikikng quality and their 5 year manufacturer's warranty make this card that much better of a value over the no-name cheap competition. However, in my 4-year experience with Viking, Sandisk, and no-name compact flash, Viking has actually had poorer performance than the no-namers. However, Viking has been true to their word to replace damaged or malfunctioning Compact Flash cards with a simple visit to their website to fill out a claim.

The card is not perfect. It may fail and you will be stuck with 1 Gig of corrupted imgaes. That could happen with any card that you purchase. The card is slower than some, but most of the cameras being sold today have at least a 4 picture cache which means you will rarely even notice the effects under normal shooting conditions. The card is not the cure-all for the digital storage world, but at the time of writing this review it was only about fifty-nine bucks making it the best value out there that I have seen, all this with no-cost shipping and no sales tax.

So take the plusses and the minusses into account and make your choice...unless you have very special needs that would necessitate a faster card, this will probably be what you should choose.

Lexar is offering its 80X Professional Series CompactFlash cards in five different capacities, including 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB.80X CF cards include an enhanced version of Write Acceleration technology, which optimizes the cards' firmware to reduce overhead associated with transferring data from the camera to the memory card, and improves in-camera performance in high-resolution CompactFlash based cameras. In addition, Lexar's new Write Acceleration provides a larger controller buffer to accommodate transferring up to 32 sectors of data to the card in one command, in cameras supporting this feature. CompactFlash cards without Write Acceleration typically transfer only one sector of data at a time. The cards include a free copy of Lexar's award-winning Image Rescue 2.0 software to recover seemingly lost or deleted images from memory cards. 3-0 out of 5 stars My experience with the 40x card
Before you purchase this card, make sure that your camera supports the Write Acceleration Technology. I purchased Lexar's 40x 256MB card (with Write Acceleration) about a year ago for my Minolta DiMage 7Hi camera, and realized my camera did not support the new technology. The CF card still worked, but there was no increase in speed over other cards.

I checked Lexar's website, and it said that my camera does not support the Write Acceleration technology. The link is here: http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/wa_cf.html

Current (as of this review) cameras supporting WA technology:
- All Kodak Professional cameras and pro camera backs, such as the DCS Pro Back 645, DCS Pro Back Plus, DCS 720x, DCS 760, DCS 760m and DCS 14n
- Nikon D1x, D1h, D-100 (Requires camera firmware upgrade by Nikon. See Nikon's web page for more details) and D2h
- Sanyo DSC-MZ3
- Sigma SD-9
- Sigma SD10
- Pentax *ist D
- Olympus E1

Lexar USB Card Reader (included... note: this was with my 40x card. you may or may not experience the same issue.):
- Works only with Lexar CF Cards. Attempted to use with SanDisk and Kingston CF Cards but did not work. Should not be a problem if you only use Lexar products. However, if you do, consider buying a separate card reader.

5-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS CARD!
If you own a Canon camera, Canon does NOT support WA (Write Acceleration) feature of Lexar's high-speed cards:

Lexar's 80x Pro CompactFlash cards are fast, especially if you use them with digital cameras that are compatible with Lexar's "write acceleration" (WA) technology. While popular dSLRs like the Canon Digital Rebel and EOS 10D and 20D and the Nikon D70 do not take advantage of the WA technology, they still benefit tremendously from Lexar's high-speed architecture. In fact, in order to use the dSLR's burst modes, you need a high-speed CF card like this.

If you happen to own an camera (Kodak, Sanyo, some Nikons, etc. - check Lexar's website) that's WA-compatible, you'll see even greater speed boosts. From my in-store testing (since I can't afford to buy all these dSLRs!) it was hard to see the difference between WA-enabled vs. WA-disabled, since the cameras were all different.Other reviews (not that guy Brent's generic "how many pictures on a card" crap) have claimed WA does make a difference. To tell the truth, I wouldn't concern myself with this WA thing; I think it's more a marketing gimmick then real technology.Luckily, Lexar works very fast even in non-WA-compatible cameras.

Should you get a Lexar or Sandisk?I think it's toss-up.In the old days (read, a couple years ago) Sandisk had some serious QA problems, leading to tons of defective memory cards, but that seems a thing of the past.My recommendation: buy whichever that's cheaper. ...

The FujiFilm 256MB xD Picture Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars overpriced, slow
Check web resources. You will find that in all published timing
tests writes to xD cards are slower than writes to the best CF
cards despite xD cards costing 60% more.So forget about buying
xD cards because they are faster; they aren't.

I could find no independent verification that xD cards decrease
battery drain in a digital camera.Even if I were willing to
believe the claim, it is still far cheaper to purchase two or
three extra sets of rechargeable batteries and carry them with
me.

There is no good reason to buy an xD card.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs and more
I bought this card in conjunction with my Fuji S5000 (which I HIGHLY recommend), and for the three months that I've been using them, they have done absolutely EVERYTHING that I could have wanted.I generally take photos at the 2MP (1600x1200) setting, which gives me reasonable photo size/clarity without taking huge amounts of space--each photo is between 550kb and 650kb, which allows me to take 410 at 2MP.I can get 550 on 1 MP, 325 on 3MP, and 173 on 6MP.On RAW 6MP, I can only get 37 though... this is what makes me consider getting a 512 card, or waiting for the upcoming 1GB card Fuji is developing.I've taken thousands of photos in the few months that I've owned this card, and none have been less than perfect as far as the card's impact on them.

The entire line of xD technology is revolutionary and is REALLY great. It has low battery-drain, it's REAL fast, and it's very versatile. Not to mention small--I'm able to have a rather small camera bag (6"h, 5"w, 3"d) partly because I don't have overly large, bulky cards and cases taking up more space than necessary.

Beyond its obvious application of excellent use in digital photos, I've actually used it like a removable mini-drive, similar to my pen-drive.However, as this card is larger than my 128MB jumpdrive, i was able to bring what i needed even when my jumpdrive was full.this is more useful than imaginable.i'm getting a Fujifilm DPC-UD1 xD USB Drive Reader and a second xD card, either 256 or 512MB to use it just like my jumpdrive. Again, this is EXCELLENT technology, and the BEST OPTION for new digitals.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ritz is unconcerned about customer satisfaction!!!!
A couple of days ago I ordered a 256 MB XD card from Amazon.com and Ritz was the seller. I received an e-mail from Ritz stating that my debit card would be charged 88.95.Amazon quoted me a price of 82.00.The difference was $6.95 in shipping. When I got the item the invoice read that I was charged the $6.95 for shipping. I had already had prior contact with Amazon and they stated that I would not be charged for shipping. I called and spoke with "Johnson" about the matter.Johnson could have cared less that I was billed for shipping and was under the pre-tense that there would be no shipping charge. It was tough luck on my part as far as he was concerned. There are many companies that Amazon sponsors that specifically state that they do not offer free shipping, but Ritz does not state this when they are sponsored seller for Amazon, although they do state on their website that "in order for an order to qualify, it must be at least 100.00. After checking my debit card, I find I was not charged for shipping. Because ofJohnson's unconcerned attitude regarding my problem, this will be the last item that I purchase from Ritz and I will see to it that I spread the word about what a caring company Ritz is not.It is bad business to burn bridges over $7.00.Amazon promised I would not be charged shipping and I was not. If looking for memory, use one of Amazon's other sponsered companies. They might care more about the cutomer.
Thank you,
Mark Jones

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Prices on SD cards!
SD cards are dropping in price on a daily basis it seems.

I don't like to use too large of a capacity since my tragic event at Disney took place. I had a 256 card and an error happened on my camera (which I have since trashed for this incident and bought a new Nikon) but anyway I had over 300+ pics on my card and could only pull off about 40 of DisneyWorld. I cried.

So as a suggestion...clean off your Memory cards after each event and don't go for the 512MB or the 1GB cards unless you are putting video on it or etc.

Now I am a happy person once again since my hubby's going to take me back to DW to replenish those missing pics!
=)

4-0 out of 5 stars Slow Writing, but fast reading
Bought this card for my XDA I PDA. Worked fine right out of the box. However, this only showed up as 118mb card !!! not sure if this is the SD card itself or the PDA causing the loss of some 10mb worth of space.

Also it is slow to write to the card, but quite fast when reading from the card.

1-0 out of 5 stars The least reliable media I've used so far
After buying a CD-R drive, I started buying whatever media I came across - by Memorex, Sky, Xeo, etc.

The memorex media were worse by far, both in failure during the burn process and in read errors that rise a short while (in time and number of reading cycles) after the burn.

As far as video goes, "is it live or is it memorex" means a very simple thing for me - either it looks live or it's on memorex media. Video on memorex media often causes media player to replay a section twice or thrice or to skip some frames, which never happened to me with Xeo or City Disc media.

Thus I've stopped buying memorex CD-R in favour of other brands.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but be careful while choosing a case for these
Following are some of the most important thing for a CD. And this is how I rank it.

Capacity: 700 MB (5 Star). This is sufficent size for any album of even for some movies. I have burned almost 20 movies (as data file)
Speed: 52X (5 Star): It takes around 2-3 mins to burn one CD, however it depends upon many other factors like RAM of system, Brand of CD Writter etc. Some CD writters write really fast.

Durability: Avg(3 Star): Durability is okay. But buy a good case to store these CDs, Put only once CD in one case. dont keep the cd one on top of other. Elese there is possibility that it might damage other cds.

Good vs Junk Cd Ratio: 10:1 (good 4 star): This means an avg out of 10 cd one cd i am not able to burn, which is not bad. I have used Verbatim which was 10:4.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth..
Thinking Memorex will be of good quality and there would least chances of coasters, I bought 3 Spindles (30 CD-Rs each).. I have tried variety of Drives (I/O Magic, Mad Dog and Micro Advantage).. I have always used Roxio Media creator 7.. With the above combination, I have been successful in burning one out of 4 or 5 Discs.. Mostly I get Media Errors and Some weird errors.. The 4th or 5th CD that burns, takes atleast 5~7 Minutes..!! Funniest thing is, the Free after rebate CD-Rs burn past (2~2.5 Minutes and w/o No Errors absolutely) and perform beautifully..!!

If you are thinking of storing and preserving, Precious Data/Video, Please go for TDK/Verbatim..!!

5-0 out of 5 stars GrEaT CD's
These are great Cd's to burn for everyday use.I have tried Philips,Verbatim,Sony,TDK,and Memorex.I like Memorex the most because they give you great products with great prices.Although,I have experienced a few CD's starting to get yellow on the surface. But that happened because I just left them on my table for too long. All in all, these are great CD's for great prices.I burn Cd's 7-8 times a week and there are fine.

1-0 out of 5 stars These suck!!!
I am trying to burn data cd's and have gotten 1 to partially work out of 6. A real waste of money and time. I'm now down to trying 8X speed. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Must Leave Power On to Save Images
I've known and happily used SanDisk CF cards before, high quality, good price. This Ultra II card comes with some worries.Since CF doesn't write at 9MB/sec, it uses a "buffer" to write a small amount (like 4 megs) to an ultra-fast buffer, then the image is slowly transferred to the main card. And there's the problem.

I lost every "last image" on my trip to Italy. When I powered on the camera, took say 5 pictures, it would record 4 and lose the last image. This is because I was turning the camera off after taking the 5th picture.I needed to leave the camera on another 20 seconds to be sure the memory card finished transfer of the images. So it's very fast, for a small burst of pictures, but LEAVE THE CAMERA ON.I did a lot of "that's cool!" pictures... you turn the camera on, take a picture, turn the camera off to save battery life.Mistake.Make sure you REVIEW the images (and not just the temporary image displayed after the picture is taken) before POWERING DOWN.

4-0 out of 5 stars It Gets the Job Done
I purchased two 256MB SanDisk Ultra II CF cards for use in my Canon PowerShot A95 5MP digital camera.I have had none of the problems described by some of the other reviewers. The card seems a little slower than the Canon card that was included with the camera package - but not remarkably slower. And considering the price and availablity of Canon cards, the Ultra II seems to be a good compromise of price & performance for this camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Card at a Great Price
I recently had to replace my Lexar 128 CF card for my Kodak easyshare that I use at work. FOr some reason, that card crapped out on me. I've had fairly good experiences with Lexar, but recently have heard more and more problems come up. Well, all in all, this card works great. The digital camera may not be able to take advantage of the write speed, but it definately is fast when using a CF reader. I would recommend this to anyone. I'm convinced that Sandisk is the way to go for all my future purposes.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best memory card that you can find.
It has worked flawlessly for all of the time that I been using it. Its fast as you might expect and it can also support more extreme temperatures than my digital camera. The only difference with this memory card and the extreme edition that is also from SanDisk is that it does not include the software to recover photographs that were erased by mistake and that the range of temperatures that it can resist is not as great. Generally normal digital cameras will not be able to write or read the memory card to its max; only the digital SLR cameras can accomplish this task. Also only the digital SLRs can work beyond the extreme temperatures that this memory card is tested for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Cost me a once in a lifetime trip to Rome!
I purchased my new SanDisk Ultra II 256 MB CF card in April for a trip to Italy in May.I filled the card up with pictures (Canon Elf) and all seemed well.I was able to review the pictures on the camera while in Rome fine. When I returned to the States, the CF card was unreadable by any computer.Even a Data Recovery company said it was corrupted beyond recovery. I seem to have lost about 80 pictures of a once in a lifetime trip to Rome Italy. Thanks Sandisk. ... Read more

I purchased this Viking Smart Media card for my Olympus C4000 in July, based on recommendations I read here.I ended up using it right away for several work related events. It is absolutely wonderful and a can't miss for the price.I recently purchased a second one and may get a third soon as I keep seeing that Smart Media may go away soon.

This is a great media card for the price, especially when you consider like brands sell for much more.

2-0 out of 5 stars Coaster Mania
I've actually used Memorex before DVD-R 4x 50 pack with no issues.

This batch I'm coastering about 25-30% of these.

1-0 out of 5 stars The New Batch is a Disaster...
Like the poster below, I purchased 2 packs of 100 Memorex -Rs from Amazon over the winter and the discs were flawless. Unfortunately the new batch I purchased at the end of April (and which I assume they're still selling now) don't work whatsoever, despite having the same manufacturer. They won't burn at high speeds -- in fact on my PC drive they won't burn AT ALL. Unfortunately this great bargain seems to be a thing of the past. I'd avoid them at all costs for the time being.

2-0 out of 5 stars disapointed...
The last memorex dvd-r I used was in 25 disk bundle, they works fine. I only have an older 4x burner. I was able to burn with 4x without any problems. But having a lot of problem with this 100 disk bundle. When I burn it with 4x speed, the data can't be recognized by the dvd-rom. After burning, the DVD rom still see the disk as a blank disk. :( But my dvd player is able to recognize those disks. They definitely have some reflectivity issues. Now, I only burned this DVD-r using 2x speed. Painfully slow (30 minute per disk), but this is the only way thenI can get a good disk. So, my advice is to avoid this product. It might or might not work on some dvd-burner on high speed...

5-0 out of 5 stars No Problems At All
I use these DVD's on my desktop (Gateway) and laptop (Dell) and have had no problems at all.Not one write failure to date.I've ordered another 200 of these, as they are so cheap and good value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
I am not sure why these other reviews are soo negative but I can state that I have had not a single failed burn in 400+ attempts with these very same DVD's, all purchased here.Maybe it's their burners.I use both a Pioneer 108 and 109 and achieve clean burns at 4x, 8x, and 12x (even though the disks are branded 8x) and ALWAYS update the burner firmware.Highly recommended. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good product, but the rebate sucks
I have no problem with the product so far. But the rebate is way too bad. I got the DVD on December 2004 and sent the rebate right away. It is now almost end of May 2005, but I have not received my rebate yet. Although I have emailed and called several times, but still.

2-0 out of 5 stars Spots on discs
My prior batches of Ridata DVD+RW's from Amazon used to be pretty good.My most recent order has been pretty bad - of the 25 discs, about 5 of them are now unreadable and have visible spots underneath!Other users also seem to be reporting this (on DVD+R batches as well) - I don't know if this is isolated to Amazon's supply, but be aware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good discs for recording vhs video
I bought a 25 pack about 6 months ago to record video off of vhs tapes, I use the lowest resolution to get about 6 hours on each disc, playback quality seems excellent. Just used up the last of the discs and all of them worked fine on my Liteon recorder. Amazon has raised the price since my first purchase (from $16.99 to $18.99) but I think it is still a bargain.

1-0 out of 5 stars Who knows how to solve the C:13:01 error ?
I bought the Sony 128 MB Memory Stick (MSH-128) a few months ago, but I only used it once. When I was in my 20th picture, an error appeared in the screen of my Sony P100 camera:

Error C:13:01, Memory Stick failed

First, I went to Sony Service Center, but they didn't know what was happening. Then, I went to differents Sony Stores, but the only answer they gave me was that my Memory Stick is failed, that it's impossible to fix or format it and, the worst, there is no way to save the pictures !!!!

Finally, I tried to solved it by myself, and I "google" the C:13:01 error. If you do it, you will find hundreds of people with the same problem, looking for a solution.

That's why I don't recommend this product. If all of us have the same problem, you can be the next.

3-0 out of 5 stars I ordered two of the same but...
I had no idea when I order this and the same item, Amazon would split my order to two different companies and charge me two different prices + shipping! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars *Buyers Beware*! Check your camera model before you buy this
These cards only work with Camera that supports the Write Acceleration !! otherwise the speed is no different from a 12X card. There is nothing wrong with the card in terms of capacity or quality.

I have given a single star rating coz it should clearly state that the 80x speed is only possible with cameras supporting Write Acceleration !!

Very Few camera support this technology and one can easily get the same capacity ( 12x ) at 1/4 the mentioned price. SO why pay more if your camera does not support this technology !!

5-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS CARD!
If you own a Canon camera, Canon does NOT support WA (Write Acceleration) feature of Lexar's high-speed cards:

http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/wa_cf.html

Current camera partners supporting Write Acceleration Technology:

-Kodak Professional
-Nikon
-Sanyo
-Sigma
-Pentax
-Olympus

Other than that, this is a FAST card, if your camera supports WA, otherwise, it may run at just standard speed and in that case why spend the extra $$$?Look up your camera on the link before you buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars My experience with the 40x card...
Before you purchase this card, make sure that your camera supports the Write Acceleration Technology.I purchased Lexar's 40x 256MB card (with Write Acceleration) about a year ago for my Minolta DiMage 7Hi camera, and realized my camera did not support the new technology.

Lexar USB Card Reader (included... note:this was with my 40x card.you may or may not experience the same issue.):
- Works only with Lexar CF Cards.Attempted to use with SanDisk and Kingston CF Cards but did not work.Should not be a problem if you only use Lexar products. However, if you do, consider buying a separate card reader.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pound for Pound, a Great Value!
Before you purchase anything larger, you should consider at least 3 key factors:(1) determine your actual capacity needs; (2) look at the speed of the Compact Flash card; and (3) choose a reputable brand known for high quality.I use a Canon S500 camera, which takes 5.0MB pictures.I thought that I needed a 1GB card, but after going on vacation, I found that this card holds plenty of photos to fulfill my needs.Generally speaking, it can hold about 190 photos on one card, possibly more if I decrease the resolution.I purchased 2 of these cards to be safe, just in case I either lost the card, damaged it, or if it somehow malfunctioned.Having 2 separate cards, I won't lose my all of my photos if something goes wrong.I can take nearly 400 photos on 2 of these cards.I can't remember the last time I ever took that many photos on one outing. Also look at the speed of the Compact Flash card. This one is amongst the fastest available on the market, even faster than the Ultra II series.Transfer rates on other cards are approximately 25% slower, yet cost about the same. This card is not only a good value, Lexar is a high-quality, reputable company.Generic brands pose a real risk of malfunctioning, which is the last thing you'd want to leave to chance with your prized digital photos.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow this baby is fast...
I replaced a Viking 128Mb card with this one and it feels like I bought a brand new camera. It saves the photograph and returns me to photo-taking mode in about ½ a second. Plus it holds 4x as many pictures so I no longer need to lug a laptop computer along on vacation to store our pictures. The price of these high speed cards has really come down lately. No excuse not to have at least a 512Mb one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sandisk 128MB SD Card A-10
This is an excellent product and would recommend it to anyone. However, it may not work with all electronic devices and you must read information about your particular product before buying this. Also, I am not 13,but didn't feel much like logging into my account to review this product. I hope my review of this product will help other people before buying this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Would buy from vendor in the future. Item arrived in a timely
manner.

5-0 out of 5 stars SanDisk really stands behind its products.
I bought this SD card 2 1/2 years ago for use in my Magellan Meridian GPS receiver. Worked great until last month. Went to SanDisk's website for help. The tech support people had me go through some diagnostic procedures and determined that the card wasn't fixable. They arranged for me to return the card to them and even paid for shipping by FedEx. Two days after they received my old card, a new one was on its way to me. Just received it today and it works like a charm.

It sure is nice to do business with a company that stands behind its products and cares about its customers.

The SanDisk SDSDB-128-A10 Secure Digital 128MB, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good product for my Toshiba pda
I bought it for use on the Toshiba e755 six months ago. I did not find any problem. It runs surprisingly fast, so I put a lot mp3s in it and my pda can be used as a small size ipod :) ... Read more
