Works Well
I have to say that moving files to school and back home has been made much easier by the purchase of my zip drive, and 100mb zip disk. Basically I have no complaints, and if you need to move large files, the iomega zip drive is the way to go!

Convenient yes, but is it reliable?
The zip format is very convenient. I have been using them for years. I used to mail the 100mb disks overseas in just an envelope without a problem. Very reliable.

The 750mb? Not so reliable in my experience. I had a brand-new Zip 750mb disk die on me in the last few weeks. Within a few minutes, it was so badly corrupted that MS Windows could not format or even see the disk. Hardware failure. Gone was my "convenient" back-up. As dead as the disk. And this was not the first one to die on me! (I am talking about the disk, not the drive. Without the disk, the drive is worthless).

So I contacted the Iomega support people. Had to call them, because the website support sucks. Very friendly they were, but they would not replace the disk. Never mind that the disk has a five year warranty. No sir. I had to produce the proof of purchase. Well, the 750mb disk format has not even been out for five years, so that request defies logic. Who keeps the receipt for an cheap disk?

Suffices to say, this is where my 10 year old relationship with Iomega ends. When I back up data, I expect the media to be reliable. ... Read more

Not as advertised
Floppies are floppies. Any name brand will work. I bought this because it shows in the picture that you get a nice plastic case. I received the package & there is NO case! You get them in the standard cardboard box. I believe this is pure deception & do not appreciate the dishonesty.

Smartest way to backup Windows®
While this medium is becoming increasingly irrelevant, it's still vital for Windows users needing to create a backup of vital program files in the event of a system crash that leaves your CD drive useless.The average home user of Windows (who backs up program data on Zip disks, CDs or tape) will not need more than 10 disks to back up her system.Colored disks are an especially smart way to back up your critical program files because you can create a more ordered backup environment.And the neon colors Imation puts out just look cool. In a crisis, your life will be made a little easier by the few extra pennies you spend on these colored disks.

My criticism of these disks is limited.First, I would have preferred having one more disk of each color, or the ability to buy a smaller pack consisting of a single color.That would have made color coding a little easier.Second, for especially heavy users of this media, this 10-pack is obviously not cost effective.

But these are truly minor qualifications.For most home or single computer users of Windows, this is the smartest way to backup core Windows (and some third party utility) elements for a rainy day.

Is a disk just a disk?
I'll shamelessly admit I bought these only because Amazon's system "recommended" them to me when I ordered a Sony digital camera (and I happened to need some disks anyway). They work just fine--is that high enough praise for a computer disk? Oh, and the colors are pretty.

Perfect match with SONY Mavica cameras
These floppies are very high quality and provide excellent storage.I use the floppies today exclusively for picture storage with the Sony Mavica FD-88 camera.Many floppy brands are troubled by causing very slow storagefrom the camera onto the floppy.The Imation does not have this problem. I get 2 sec storage time using these disks.I cannot recommend them highlyenough for use with the Mavica line.And the bright colors, in addition tobeing fun, make the disks easy to spot among the huge pile of old disks inmy desk.

Its a great camera. I like using the floppies, I have alot of them because I have switched to using Zips and CDs.I don't need to use more hardware plugged into my computer or more clutter on my desk.The Mavica, producesgood pictures so far and is really user friendly.The zoom workswonderfully.For the price, the floppy convienience, great pictures (evenin low light), and ease of operation, this is a bargain.

  These disks really do STINK!!!!!
  I bought 1 40 pack of these disks so that I could create a set of Windows 95 setup disks. They worked to install windows once and then they all started dying. I went to run Windows setup and got halfway through and got a "cannot read from device" error. After that I ran scandisk on all of them and only 1 disk didnt have bad sectors. A few of the disks had bad sectors in the system area rendering them unformattable. I advise anybody who reads this to steer clear of these cute little disks unless you want to use them as christmas ornaments.

  These cute little disks STINK! (for a lack of a better word)
  TWO times have I lost precious information while using the cute colored disks!! I recommend not buying these disks and going with perhaps 3M.
