1-0 out of 5 stars The least reliable media I've used so far
After buying a CD-R drive, I started buying whatever media I came across - by Memorex, Sky, Xeo, etc.

The memorex media were worse by far, both in failure during the burn process and in read errors that rise a short while (in time and number of reading cycles) after the burn.

As far as video goes, "is it live or is it memorex" means a very simple thing for me - either it looks live or it's on memorex media. Video on memorex media often causes media player to replay a section twice or thrice or to skip some frames, which never happened to me with Xeo or City Disc media.

Thus I've stopped buying memorex CD-R in favour of other brands.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but be careful while choosing a case for these
Following are some of the most important thing for a CD. And this is how I rank it.

Capacity: 700 MB (5 Star). This is sufficent size for any album of even for some movies. I have burned almost 20 movies (as data file)
Speed: 52X (5 Star): It takes around 2-3 mins to burn one CD, however it depends upon many other factors like RAM of system, Brand of CD Writter etc. Some CD writters write really fast.

Durability: Avg(3 Star): Durability is okay. But buy a good case to store these CDs, Put only once CD in one case. dont keep the cd one on top of other. Elese there is possibility that it might damage other cds.

Good vs Junk Cd Ratio: 10:1 (good 4 star): This means an avg out of 10 cd one cd i am not able to burn, which is not bad. I have used Verbatim which was 10:4.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth..
Thinking Memorex will be of good quality and there would least chances of coasters, I bought 3 Spindles (30 CD-Rs each).. I have tried variety of Drives (I/O Magic, Mad Dog and Micro Advantage).. I have always used Roxio Media creator 7.. With the above combination, I have been successful in burning one out of 4 or 5 Discs.. Mostly I get Media Errors and Some weird errors.. The 4th or 5th CD that burns, takes atleast 5~7 Minutes..!! Funniest thing is, the Free after rebate CD-Rs burn past (2~2.5 Minutes and w/o No Errors absolutely) and perform beautifully..!!

If you are thinking of storing and preserving, Precious Data/Video, Please go for TDK/Verbatim..!!

5-0 out of 5 stars GrEaT CD's
These are great Cd's to burn for everyday use.I have tried Philips,Verbatim,Sony,TDK,and Memorex.I like Memorex the most because they give you great products with great prices.Although,I have experienced a few CD's starting to get yellow on the surface. But that happened because I just left them on my table for too long. All in all, these are great CD's for great prices.I burn Cd's 7-8 times a week and there are fine.

1-0 out of 5 stars These suck!!!
I am trying to burn data cd's and have gotten 1 to partially work out of 6. A real waste of money and time. I'm now down to trying 8X speed. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Must Leave Power On to Save Images
I've known and happily used SanDisk CF cards before, high quality, good price. This Ultra II card comes with some worries.Since CF doesn't write at 9MB/sec, it uses a "buffer" to write a small amount (like 4 megs) to an ultra-fast buffer, then the image is slowly transferred to the main card. And there's the problem.

I lost every "last image" on my trip to Italy. When I powered on the camera, took say 5 pictures, it would record 4 and lose the last image. This is because I was turning the camera off after taking the 5th picture.I needed to leave the camera on another 20 seconds to be sure the memory card finished transfer of the images. So it's very fast, for a small burst of pictures, but LEAVE THE CAMERA ON.I did a lot of "that's cool!" pictures... you turn the camera on, take a picture, turn the camera off to save battery life.Mistake.Make sure you REVIEW the images (and not just the temporary image displayed after the picture is taken) before POWERING DOWN.

4-0 out of 5 stars It Gets the Job Done
I purchased two 256MB SanDisk Ultra II CF cards for use in my Canon PowerShot A95 5MP digital camera.I have had none of the problems described by some of the other reviewers. The card seems a little slower than the Canon card that was included with the camera package - but not remarkably slower. And considering the price and availablity of Canon cards, the Ultra II seems to be a good compromise of price & performance for this camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Card at a Great Price
I recently had to replace my Lexar 128 CF card for my Kodak easyshare that I use at work. FOr some reason, that card crapped out on me. I've had fairly good experiences with Lexar, but recently have heard more and more problems come up. Well, all in all, this card works great. The digital camera may not be able to take advantage of the write speed, but it definately is fast when using a CF reader. I would recommend this to anyone. I'm convinced that Sandisk is the way to go for all my future purposes.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best memory card that you can find.
It has worked flawlessly for all of the time that I been using it. Its fast as you might expect and it can also support more extreme temperatures than my digital camera. The only difference with this memory card and the extreme edition that is also from SanDisk is that it does not include the software to recover photographs that were erased by mistake and that the range of temperatures that it can resist is not as great. Generally normal digital cameras will not be able to write or read the memory card to its max; only the digital SLR cameras can accomplish this task. Also only the digital SLRs can work beyond the extreme temperatures that this memory card is tested for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Cost me a once in a lifetime trip to Rome!
I purchased my new SanDisk Ultra II 256 MB CF card in April for a trip to Italy in May.I filled the card up with pictures (Canon Elf) and all seemed well.I was able to review the pictures on the camera while in Rome fine. When I returned to the States, the CF card was unreadable by any computer.Even a Data Recovery company said it was corrupted beyond recovery. I seem to have lost about 80 pictures of a once in a lifetime trip to Rome Italy. Thanks Sandisk. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazon and Belkin team up for another great deal
If you're looking for a basic 10' USB extension cable, you've come to the right place. Belkin's products have always been reliable, and this one is no different.

The Belkin F3U134-10 is a 20-gauge 10' USB cable, A plug to A receptacle.I use mine on an older PC that only has USB ports on the back of its tower. Thanks to this cable, I no longer need to climb under furniture to insert my USB memory key.

If you plan to use this cable to extend a shorter cable, be aware of recommended USB cable length limits.Low-density devices (e.g. mice and keyboards) should not exceed cable lengths of 10', while high-density USB devices such as scanners and printers should be limited to a total cable length of 16 feet. If you plan to extend your current USB cable beyond these limits, consider getting a repeating cable such as the Belkin Active Extension USB Cable.

Perhaps the best reason to buy this USB cable from Amazon is to get their hefty discount on Belkin products. You'll pay about a third what you would at your local electronics store. Now that's a bargain!

5-0 out of 5 stars A major bargain!
This same cable sells for over $20.00 at local electronics stores. Not only was this an incredible buy, but customer contact was professional and consistent.I will certainly purchase here again - look out Fort Worth!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, quality cable
I recently purchased an inexpensive webcam, which came with a 8-inches long USB cord. Obviously whoever manufactured it intended the cord to reach from the PC monitor/LCD to the back of the computer, and nothing more. This was unacceptable.<P>
Luckily I browsed around and found this cable, which was a lifesaver. It's got a female "A" plug on one side and a male "A" plug on the other, effectively working as an "extension cord" (to be plugged in the middle, between your pc and one of your existing USB cables that is attached to your USB device).

Very good quality cables. Inexpensive price. To paraphrase Jerry Pournelle on the legendary Byte magazine: "Recommended!". :)

5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER FAST SHIPPING!!
I bought this with the Lexar Media 256mb jump drive pro (which took forever to ship, still not here, etc) but since the usb flash drive was over $25, when I bought the cable, I got free shipping also. The cable came within 3 days even though it was free shipping. They sent it separately for free also, and that was great. I just need the drive now so I can put the cable into use.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's AMAZING....
...That such an excellent piece of equipment could be 'reviewed' by persons that are computer challenged. These JOKERS should seek help before buying a product and writing negative reviews because THEY bought the wrong product! GEEZ!

This USB extension cable has performed beyond my expectations for over 8 months. There has been NO noticeable [at least not to me] degradation in performance to my accessories [digital camera, webcam and JUMPDRIVE ] by using this extension cord and it means that I do not have to be fiddling behind or leaning down in front of the computer to attach and detach the equipment.

It is a GREAT buy! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars WATCHOUT FOR BAIT & SWITCHBY SURPLUSCOMPUTERS.COM
I paid for a KINGSTON 128 MB SmartMedia Card and Surpluscomputers.com substituted a PQI brand which I've never heard of. I purchased this Viking Smart Media card for my Olympus C4000 in July, based on recommendations I read here.I ended up using it right away for several work related events. It is absolutely wonderful and a can't miss for the price.I recently purchased a second one and may get a third soon as I keep seeing that Smart Media may go away soon.

This is a great media card for the price, especially when you consider like brands sell for much more.

2-0 out of 5 stars incompatibility issues
Bought one new. Doesn't work in any of the following cameras:
Olympus C4040, C3020, C4000, E20. Got "media error" when trying
to format. Can't access it from a PC using a PCMCIA adaptor.
Can format and read/write fine using a Memorex USB reader.
Filed a warranty claim with Kingston and got a replacement.
Still can't work in E20 but can work in a C4040. Will sell it
on eBay soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Huge Things Come In Small Packages
It's amazing that 128 MB can fit in something that is about 1/100th the size of my 100 MB ZipDisc. The card works fine, and that's all you can ask it to do.The price is great also, considering that when I bought my digital 4-track, the store tried to sell me a sililar 128 MB smart disc card for 100 bucks. If you're into anything digital, this is the way to go. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Coaster Mania
I've actually used Memorex before DVD-R 4x 50 pack with no issues.

This batch I'm coastering about 25-30% of these.

1-0 out of 5 stars The New Batch is a Disaster...
Like the poster below, I purchased 2 packs of 100 Memorex -Rs from Amazon over the winter and the discs were flawless. Unfortunately the new batch I purchased at the end of April (and which I assume they're still selling now) don't work whatsoever, despite having the same manufacturer. They won't burn at high speeds -- in fact on my PC drive they won't burn AT ALL. Unfortunately this great bargain seems to be a thing of the past. I'd avoid them at all costs for the time being.

2-0 out of 5 stars disapointed...
The last memorex dvd-r I used was in 25 disk bundle, they works fine. I only have an older 4x burner. I was able to burn with 4x without any problems. But having a lot of problem with this 100 disk bundle. When I burn it with 4x speed, the data can't be recognized by the dvd-rom. After burning, the DVD rom still see the disk as a blank disk. :( But my dvd player is able to recognize those disks. They definitely have some reflectivity issues. Now, I only burned this DVD-r using 2x speed. Painfully slow (30 minute per disk), but this is the only way thenI can get a good disk. So, my advice is to avoid this product. It might or might not work on some dvd-burner on high speed...

5-0 out of 5 stars No Problems At All
I use these DVD's on my desktop (Gateway) and laptop (Dell) and have had no problems at all.Not one write failure to date.I've ordered another 200 of these, as they are so cheap and good value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
I am not sure why these other reviews are soo negative but I can state that I have had not a single failed burn in 400+ attempts with these very same DVD's, all purchased here.Maybe it's their burners.I use both a Pioneer 108 and 109 and achieve clean burns at 4x, 8x, and 12x (even though the disks are branded 8x) and ALWAYS update the burner firmware.Highly recommended. ... Good quality discs. A must buy for anyone who needs all the gigs to store that junk!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good product, but the rebate sucks
I have no problem with the product so far. But the rebate is way too bad. I got the DVD on December 2004 and sent the rebate right away. It is now almost end of May 2005, but I have not received my rebate yet. Although I have emailed and called several times, but still.

2-0 out of 5 stars Spots on discs
My prior batches of Ridata DVD+RW's from Amazon used to be pretty good.My most recent order has been pretty bad - of the 25 discs, about 5 of them are now unreadable and have visible spots underneath!Other users also seem to be reporting this (on DVD+R batches as well) - I don't know if this is isolated to Amazon's supply, but be aware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good discs for recording vhs video
I bought a 25 pack about 6 months ago to record video off of vhs tapes, I use the lowest resolution to get about 6 hours on each disc, playback quality seems excellent. Just used up the last of the discs and all of them worked fine on my Liteon recorder. Amazon has raised the price since my first purchase (from $16.99 to $18.99) but I think it is still a bargain.

1-0 out of 5 stars Who knows how to solve the C:13:01 error ?
I bought the Sony 128 MB Memory Stick (MSH-128) a few months ago, but I only used it once. When I was in my 20th picture, an error appeared in the screen of my Sony P100 camera:

Error C:13:01, Memory Stick failed

First, I went to Sony Service Center, but they didn't know what was happening. Then, I went to differents Sony Stores, but the only answer they gave me was that my Memory Stick is failed, that it's impossible to fix or format it and, the worst, there is no way to save the pictures !!!!

Finally, I tried to solved it by myself, and I "google" the C:13:01 error. If you do it, you will find hundreds of people with the same problem, looking for a solution.

That's why I don't recommend this product. If all of us have the same problem, you can be the next.

1-0 out of 5 stars *Buyers Beware*! Check your camera model before you buy this
These cards only work with Camera that supports the Write Acceleration !! otherwise the speed is no different from a 12X card. There is nothing wrong with the card in terms of capacity or quality.

I have given a single star rating coz it should clearly state that the 80x speed is only possible with cameras supporting Write Acceleration !!

Very Few camera support this technology and one can easily get the same capacity ( 12x ) at 1/4 the mentioned price. SO why pay more if your camera does not support this technology !!

5-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS CARD!
If you own a Canon camera, Canon does NOT support WA (Write Acceleration) feature of Lexar's high-speed cards:

Other than that, this is a FAST card, if your camera supports WA, otherwise, it may run at just standard speed and in that case why spend the extra $$$?Look up your camera on the link before you buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars My experience with the 40x card...
Before you purchase this card, make sure that your camera supports the Write Acceleration Technology.I purchased Lexar's 40x 256MB card (with Write Acceleration) about a year ago for my Minolta DiMage 7Hi camera, and realized my camera did not support the new technology. The CF card still worked, but there was no increase in speed over other cards.

I checked Lexar's website, and it said that my camera does not support the Write Acceleration technology. The link is here: http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/wa_cf.html

Current (as of this review) cameras supporting WA technology:
- All Kodak Professional cameras and pro camera backs, such as the DCS Pro Back 645, DCS Pro Back Plus, DCS 720x, DCS 760, DCS 760m and DCS 14n
- Nikon D1x, D1h, D-100 (Requires camera firmware upgrade by Nikon. See Nikon's web page for more details) and D2h
- Sanyo DSC-MZ3
- Sigma SD-9
- Sigma SD10
- Pentax *ist D
- Olympus E1

Lexar USB Card Reader (included... note:this was with my 40x card.you may or may not experience the same issue.):
- Works only with Lexar CF Cards.Attempted to use with SanDisk and Kingston CF Cards but did not work.Should not be a problem if you only use Lexar products. However, if you do, consider buying a separate card reader.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pound for Pound, a Great Value!
Before you purchase anything larger, you should consider at least 3 key factors:(1) determine your actual capacity needs; (2) look at the speed of the Compact Flash card; and (3) choose a reputable brand known for high quality.I use a Canon S500 camera, which takes 5.0MB pictures.I thought that I needed a 1GB card, but after going on vacation, I found that this card holds plenty of photos to fulfill my needs.Generally speaking, it can hold about 190 photos on one card, possibly more if I decrease the resolution.I purchased 2 of these cards to be safe, just in case I either lost the card, damaged it, or if it somehow malfunctioned.Having 2 separate cards, I won't lose my all of my photos if something goes wrong.I can take nearly 400 photos on 2 of these cards.I can't remember the last time I ever took that many photos on one outing. Also look at the speed of the Compact Flash card. This one is amongst the fastest available on the market, even faster than the Ultra II series.Transfer rates on other cards are approximately 25% slower, yet cost about the same. This card is not only a good value, Lexar is a high-quality, reputable company.Generic brands pose a real risk of malfunctioning, which is the last thing you'd want to leave to chance with your prized digital photos.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow this baby is fast...
I replaced a Viking 128Mb card with this one and it feels like I bought a brand new camera. It saves the photograph and returns me to photo-taking mode in about ½ a second. Plus it holds 4x as many pictures so I no longer need to lug a laptop computer along on vacation to store our pictures. The price of these high speed cards has really come down lately. No excuse not to have at least a 512Mb one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sandisk 128MB SD Card A-10
This is an excellent product and would recommend it to anyone. However, it may not work with all electronic devices and you must read information about your particular product before buying this. Also, I am not 13,but didn't feel much like logging into my account to review this product. I hope my review of this product will help other people before buying this.

5-0 out of 5 stars SanDisk really stands behind its products.
I bought this SD card 2 1/2 years ago for use in my Magellan Meridian GPS receiver. Worked great until last month. Went to SanDisk's website for help. The tech support people had me go through some diagnostic procedures and determined that the card wasn't fixable. They arranged for me to return the card to them and even paid for shipping by FedEx. Two days after they received my old card, a new one was on its way to me. Just received it today and it works like a charm.

It sure is nice to do business with a company that stands behind its products and cares about its customers.

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The SanDisk SDSDB-128-A10 Secure Digital 128MB, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING
I had no problems burning to these discs, its when I went back a few months later to these discs and found out that none of them work anymore. After further research I found out that Memorex uses the cheapest dye available and thus the DVDs have absolutelly no life to them, my discs started dying after a few months.
In addition, in you physically hold the disc in your hands you can feel how warped physically it has become. This is true for all the discs (about 150 of them). I CAN NOT NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT STRONLY ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worked well for me after downloading new firmware
I first tried these blank DVDs and they did not work for me and I was very frustrated. There was clear labeling on the package that new firmware was needed for many DVD writers to work with these discs. However, my DVD writer was a variation of what was listed. So I tried about 10 discs and only 1 worked.Tonight I downloaded the firmware for a variation of my HP drive and all works fine.

Bottom line - expect to download the firmware and these will work great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great DVDs
First Time user of memorex. A friend recommended them. works absolutely perfect. used over 30 of these dvds with only 4 defectives burns and that was because of an OS problem.

3-0 out of 5 stars Memorex DVD+R failure rate
This order of DVD's had higher than normal failure rates.
The Sony DVD read/writer was unable to write to about 10% of these DVD's. This is too high and makes the price per DVD high. Reliability of backups is very important to us.

I have been using Memorex for a long time. Next time I will try another brand.

1-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly inconsistent, and a waste for me.
Out of the past 20 burns, I have only had 10 DVD's burn successfully.I use Roxio CD Creator version 7, which does a great job with my CD's, so I'm pretty sure it's the DVD media. Not only am I wasting all my money, but my time as well.I've tried to lower the burn speed, but it does not matter.I'd try something else. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Is It Worth Buying
I have been using 3 - 128mb, 1 -256mb, and 1 -8mb card with my 2.1 megapixel camera. That got me about 648 photos which has been great for vacations, etc. With the purchase of a new 7 megapixel camera, I found that my photo storage dropped to about 202 photos which was definitely not enough. With the 2gb card, I can take a minimum of 650 photos without changing cards. With my existing cards, that totals at about 850 photos. That number goes up if I use my macro or supermacro settings (they drop the image size to the medium setting).I have had no problems with any of my compact flash cards (all of them being sandisk), all have worked consistently and without issue.

The Sandisk 2GB Compactflash Card Type I, like most 2000MB cards, will store on average 2275 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 1706 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,1024 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 819 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 640 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

One last thing to consider when buying a 2000MB card.Do not necessarily choose the least expensive card available.A 2000MB card should be an investment. You need to consider quality, reliability, and speed with a card of this capacity.Worse case scenario would be you taking this card (and only this card) on vacation with you overseas and for some reason it gets corrupted. Then what do you do?Purchasing a high capacity card changes the game a little, just be mindful of that before you hit the buy button.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Problems Here
I have had this CF card for nearly a year (A year ago, it cost nearly $300--boy those CF memory prices have dropped!) and it has worked without incident where I use it for MP3/WMA storage on my iPAQ PDA. It does not appear to cause a significant power drain on my iPAQ battery, so it must be a fairly efficient chip. The write speed of this chip is roughly 40% slower than a Sandisk Ultra II CF, which is preferrable for digital cameras. For reliable storage and backup applications though, this 2GB CF is now an excellent value.

1-0 out of 5 stars RUN, RunForrest; Run fast, take it from ME!.
.............Is not functional................ .
If you are reading this then you are Gump-y! And, you and I must be family.
First, I love Amazon; they are the consistent type of e-merchant.And that's good! But but but but, why?:would a designated (by me) upper "echelon" merchant like Amazon carry this Sandisk 2gb compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768). It simply is not functional information that I stored Sandisk 2GB compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768) is gone, or not readable. I am surprised that Amazon did not catch-on/up with the problem.
The product won't retain any info then I had to store less and less information on the card, so that my info is able to stay on the card another 6 hours. I decided to contact Amazon, they were very shortly, and cordially sent me a replacement Sandisk 2gb compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768), with the paperwork for returning the original Sandisk 2gb compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768).
Then I got something that:
A. Did, have the shape of a 2gig Sandisk CF card;
B. Did, have the Sandisk label that says Sandisk 2GB compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768)......;
C. And did have the original shiny factory Sandisk package. None-being the-less 3 different computers later and 2 hour had passed couldn't recognize what is inserted into the CF reader.
D. The brand new replacement card I got with the original factory wrapping, that's brand new and untouched and unrecognized by computers. One may safely assume (pardon the facetiousness), Sandisk 2GB compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768), is yet to be recognized.

From Amazon, twice in the mail, I got a Sandisk 2 GB compact which flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768). Both cards I received had a problem. And therefore, it is safe to assume that Sandisk 2GB compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768) production have a major glitch. I mean, the memory card cannot be used for memory purposes. I have to yet see what or for what, other than memory, can I utilize a memory card. I beg your pardon, but in essence I am trying to imply that... The Sandisk products were a joke! :-).
Being the consistent e-merchant that Amazon always been, Amazon agreed to return them. This was not a surprise (coming from Amazon).
In essence, I strongly urge any person that makes a living, and tries to have some fun with their hard earned living to:
1. Not be fooled. If you see Sandisk, run away as fast as possible,
2. You'll lose it all in a matter of a day or so.
3. Sandisk 2GB compact flash card type I (sdcfb-2048-768) is not compatible with data storage! or even short transfers of data, from a home computer to work.
4. Spend the extra.... on an alternative brand.
5. That's the only way you'll get a CF card that is correctly labeled; and, serve intended functions.
6. I strongly recommend, as well as urge individual who is thinking ofgetting that "other" brand of 2-giga...... cards to make sure do so:................
7. Use Amazon only, and don't be fooled by any other e-merchant who's not as high of an echelon as Amazon....... Amazon!
8. Had it not been for Amazon, I would have lost all I paid. :).

God bless Amazon for their extreme timely tentativeness, I also pray for Sandisk, so that god renders it with the power to accomplish the purpose they stick onto their product line.
God bless, and keep on shopping.

1-0 out of 5 stars Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
It took several times to get the camera to recognise the stick. Once it took, it worked fine. It worked in the card reader, but then I had trouble getting it to work again in the camera. Bending the stick finally made the contacts make contact, but this isn't something that should be necessary for an electronic product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spin the black circle
I've been using these since they first came out with them. I've never had any trouble with them, and they look completely awesome. The only thing I didn't like was that the label had no place to write on so you had to kind of squeeze it in between things. Verbatim has now fixed this and there are two lines to write on. I am impressed both by the original classy-looking labels and the new ones that imitate old record labels of the mid-60s with brilliant colours and jazzy designs. I can't get enough of these and if they came down in price they'd be just about all I used. Verbatim's notion of making a CD-R that looked like an old 45 was brilliant. They also have a DVD-R that looks like an old reel of film, and if I had a DVD recorder I'd use those. I'll keep buying these as long as Verbatim keeps making them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Slow burn?
According to the verbatim web site, these are rated to burn at 16x -- not the common 48x.Sometimes you have to move slow to be cool.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice looking but unreliable
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that these were incredibly marked down at the local Best Buy. I like the look of these CD-Rs but they have been unreliable and unpredictable in terms of device playback. For instance, they play fine in my brand new car stereo, and on my firewire external CDRW drive at home, but have difficulty playing back in my Powerbook internal drive (most likely due to the thickness of the painted surface, which is more a fault of the drive than the discs) and completely do not play in my home CD player (which is a stand-alone component disc changer). In other players, playback has ranged from nonexistent (as already noted), to spotty at best (crackles and lots of extra digital noise) to crystal clear.

I would only recommend using these if you can verify and guarantee playback on your most-used personal systems... otherwise you'll end up with a stack of nice looking but unlistenable CDs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Too Cool & Top Quality!
I buy NOTHING but Verbatim for photo or music burning. These are the ones I buy for music, because they are so cool looking, and remind me of the old 45's.My RCA mini-stereo system can't play them, but it has trouble playing any CD-Rs. They play great on my Panasonic SL-SV570 portable CD player. They only record at 24x on my 52x Iomega external burner, but that's okay...I'll put up with a slower burn speed for these cool looking CD-Rs. And no one makes higher quality CD-Rs than Verbatim.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Audio!
I don't know what that fella was talking about that "this product doesn't work for audio"... this product works GREAT for audio.I burn these vinyl looking CDRs and play them in my cd walkman, in my van, in my home dvd player, and in my computer; and they play everywhere just fine.In fact, of the about 50 of these I have made so far, I have yet to make a coaster. Also check out the labels and the blue labeler thingy that Verbatim make, very cool. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars questions
I am in the process of buying an ipod, but very confused. First off I understand the ipod mini comes with a USB cable in the box, cause that's what it says. Wouldn't that be all you need to connect your ipod to your PC, having you do own a PC & not a MAC? and second I am kinda confused with the word "Dock Connector". Is the word dock connector referring to the bottom of the Ipod Mini, or is it a whole different type of adapter one needs to be able to hook up the USB cord from the ipod to the computer. Thanks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Essential PC-to-iPod accessory cable
PC owners: odds are high that you need this to connect your computer to your iPod. Yes, it chafes that after spending several hundred dollars for a fancy digital music player, you have to drop another $20 or so for another cable, but that's just the way it goes.

The firewire end of this double cable connects with the AC outlet adapter and has the same functionality as the firewire-only cable packaged with the iPod. It's the USB end that connects to the computer. In order to synch up the iPod, you plug the USB cable into your PC; when it's finished and a checkmark appears on the iPod screen, you can unplug it again.

The cables are about six feet long, long enough to reach under a desk to the wall outlet or around to the computer. They come with cute little plug covers that snap onto skeins of cable.

It would be nice if there was some kind of retractable-cable option, or if the cables were a little bit larger-gauge.

Unless you have a firewire port, PC and iPod users will need this item to connect and synch their iPod.

(My experience comes from owning the 3d-gen 20 GB iPod with dock connector.)

4-0 out of 5 stars Will not charge 3G iPod via USB alone
I am reasonably sure this cable will NOT charge an iPod unless the firewire portion is plugged into the iPod power supply. USB only delivers 5V, and the iPods this cable fits needed 12V to charge (Firewire). So don't buy it if you think you'll be able to travel without the iPod power supply as well as the cable.

1-0 out of 5 stars CAUTION!!!!!!
Do NOT buy this Cable if you're planning to buy a new click wheel ipod, they're not compatible, (use M9688LL/A cable kit instead).

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
This is a great product. You do not need the Ipod dock to use this connector as it may seem from reading about it.The connector clicks into the bottom of the Ipod. You can plug the firewire side into the AC charger so that the battery is not used while transferring files and the USB 2.0 side can be plugged into your computer at the same time.If you have any money left to burn after the cash you dished out for the Ipod, get one of these handy connectors. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Unreliable Product
While using this DVD-R, I had success rate of about 66% to 75%.

I did some research and found out some interesting things. First, I read internet posts describing Memorex 8x DVD-R media doesn't work well at 8x speed and that 4x is recommended for better result. So far this has worked. But this is very disappointing because this product is supposed to work at 8x speed.

Another post I read was much more disconcerting, because the poster wrote his Memorex discs, which he burned months ago, was no longer working and that he lost large number of files.

At this point, I'm considering purchasing different brand of DVD-R and backing up my files all over again just to be safe.

1-0 out of 5 stars This Product is NO GOOD
The 1st time using was a drag, one worked and the rest did Not.So I gave them to my 2 year old sister that is what they are good for same with the CDS

5-0 out of 5 stars get a plextor drive!
These DVD-R's work great 0 costers out of 50.. I dont what kind of dvd burners these people are using but if they have a good dvd burner they would not have any trouble burning with these dvd-r's. Oh yea Plextor drives rock!

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor product
I ordered these from Amazon.com upon their recommendation to use in my new Panasonic DVD Recorder. The first 8 disks failed immediately and the next 2 took a couple minutes to fail. After we closely examined the disks, we saw that each and every disk has little scratches that prevent it from being used in any machine.I would not recommend anyone purchase this product.I remember the days when Memorex was atop quality product --- no more

1-0 out of 5 stars Burns coasters at 8X or fixes wobbly tables
We need a 0 Star rating for this item. The first 3 out of the box had errors after burning. Each failure was immediately rectified by replacing with a 4x memorex, 8x Maxell and a 4X Maxell, so the problem is in the disk itself and not the files or the DVD writer (or the operator).

Like the others say, stay away from these 8X Memorex dvd-Rs unless you need coasters. I recommend the Maxell DVD-Rs at any speed. They are heavier and so far I have had a 100% success rate. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't beat the price.
This thing sells for over [dollar amount]at a retail store. As of this writing, I bought it for[much less].Belkin's cables are pretty good and I haven't had problems. They also offer lifetime warranty so you can't beat that either.

It worked on my USB 2.0 video capture even though the vendor didn't suggest I go over 6' but according to USB specifications, it still works fine. This length is the max I believe without any additional hubs...

4-0 out of 5 stars Uhhhh its a cable
My big thing is all about price cause there isnt much noticable difference cable brand to cable brand for the average user. This same EXACT Belkin one was almost triple the price locally. Works fine great value . Woo Hoo !

5-0 out of 5 stars it's usb 2.0!!
I've been using Belkin USB cables for some time now, and have found them to be consistently high in quality.I saw the price here for this cable and the length, and took the chance on it as I am purchasing a USB 2.0 capable scanner. The cable arrived in the retail Belkin package and it was USB 2.0 rated cable.Pleasant surprise - especially at this price:)

3-0 out of 5 stars USB CABLE MATH for WEB CAM and other USB DEVICES
This 16 feet (4.88 meter) long USB A to USB B cable = ASIN B00004Z5PY = was just right to extend my WebCam 15 feet (4.75 meter) cable (for 3Com 00371800 HomeConnect PC Digital Camera = ASIN B00000JDHV =) to 31 feet (9.45 meter). To "connect" the two cable bought the Linksys USB 4 Port Hub Universal Serial Bus = B00004Z6PI which has an external power supply, making sure that the 31 feet length cable (not recommended for WebCam) is working fine. The only thing I have to complain about is the small package of the 16 feet cable which squeezes the volume of the whole length to a fist size. So you will get a zigzag-worm instead a straight point-to-point connection. However, the cable works fine. I straighten it carefully with a soft towel after I had it on the sun to warm it up. ... That's why Flash Memory has quickly become one of today's hottest portable storage technologies. It's more flexible than a floppy and can store up to 160MB of data. It's more rugged and much faster than a hard drive, and, unlike RAM, Flash Memory can retain data even when the power is turned off.

Flash Memory is ideal for dozens of portable applications. Take digital cameras. By inserting a high capacity Flash Memory card directly into a camera, you can store hundreds of high-resolution images. When ready to output, simply pull the card out and transfer it to your desktop, portable or handheld computer for processing. Flash Memory cards fit standard Type II slots (with or without an adapter, depending on the type of flash card). Now you're ready to load all the captured images in seconds for viewing, manipulation, e-mailing or printing. No need to ever buy a roll of film again!

2-0 out of 5 stars Kingston = SLOW
This Kingston card uses a multi-level-cell (MLC) Flash made by Toshiba and writes much slower than the single-level-cell (SLC) models. I would avoid Kingston if you have a high resolution digital camera or frequently use the burst mode on your camera to take several pictures back to back. For MP3 players or lower resolution cameras, this card may be fine. Just keep in mind that it will also take longer to write MP3s from your computer to this card than it will with others. I would opt for a card made by SimpleTech, which is in the same price category but much faster.

5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect fit on a 5 MP camera
This 512MB card by Kingston is my camera's right hand man. I've used it extensively with a Canon Powershot S50 and haven't had any problems with it to date. A day's shooting on the highest quality JPEG setting fills the card at 200 photos - plenty for a hobbyist like myself. And the wait to download a full card's worth of photos, either through the camera or a card reader, is never more than a couple of minutes. The card is what you'd expect from CF memory - durable (I've accidentally stepped on it once and it's still okay), ultraportable and roomy. Highly recommended for anyone eyeing a 4+ MP camera or any other device with a need for lots of storage.

1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work with a Nikon Coolpix 4300
It would be really great if Amazon and other resellers did a better job outlining which accessories were compatible with which products. This is stated as a CF Type I card yet this does not work with a Nikon Coolpix 4300--another, more expensive Kingston card, must be used.

1-0 out of 5 stars Kingston CF/256
Bought the Kingston CF/256 for my Nikon CP5000, to replace the little SanDisk 32 MB card I got with the camera.Turns out this Kingston model isn't compatible with the Nikon CP5000.If you want a Kingston CF card for that camera, consult Kingston for their model recommendation.

Bought a Lexar 12X 256 MB card (faster than 12x makes no difference in that camera) and it works great.

4-0 out of 5 stars Atlast- great storage capacity
Having gotten the new 1 gb 45 hour disc mini disc, I am happy because it is now possible to get on one disc what I previously had to spread over 34 standard 80 minute discs. If I want, I can store about 900 songs, or 70 cd's, or save a whole year of voice lessons.

Can you imagine how great it is to no longer worry about running out of disk space or having to delete tracks to create space, or using a lot of discs.

For $6.99 for 45 hours, this is $0.15 per hour compared to about $1.50 per disc for the standard 80 minute discs, so the value is incredible.

If you have an older MD player you may find this HI-MD to be incompatible with that software, so be sure your player is compatible or that you have updated software before buying. My MZN HF800 (reviewed separately) is compatible.

I highly recommend this.If you find this review helpful please click yes.

5-0 out of 5 stars MINIDISC IS FOREVER!!
This disc can hold up to 40 discs on one mini. The sound quality is perfect. These discs can be hard to find in the stores, but they are available at www.minidisco.com.They even are available in 10 and 20 packs.I would also suggest buying the sony MZ-NH1.It's a little pricey, but the sound quality is excellent. It's almost as small as a minidisc and you can do everything from the remote. You can even download to and from your computer.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Minidisc Improved
The Sony HMD1G Hi_MD minidisc is now a little bit more available

and is really a good idea. It is a major improvment on the

original minidiscs which only held 60 mins., 74mins., and 80mins.

The new one holds just under Eight (8) hours of music or data

when recorded in the standard play mode. Quite an accomplishment

for Sony. I have to agree with the other reviewer who opines that

Sony does not seem to be making a decent effort to "sell" their

product. IT is almost as if they want this format to go the way

of "BETA" or "DAT" One would think that Sony would want to

recoup the R+D money invested in this format. I personally think

that $6.98 for a disc that holds as much as this one does is

a great buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars HiMD-1G minidiscs
This product is in my Country and all Europe still 1/2 Year not aviable. And through Amazon.com also. Why ?
Be aware before you will buy Hi-MD Players !!!
And really rating is minus 5 stars.

Thank You

3-0 out of 5 stars Unobtanium...
I have been using a NE410 Net-MD walkman that I got from Walmart 6 months ago and I like the convinience and compactness of it, although it only holds 50 songs per disc with the LP4 codec. I got a NH600 HI-MD Walkman recently and this new technology makes soo much more sence. It can fit 300+ songs on one disc with the 64 Kbps ATRAC3plus codec (that's equal to 128 Kbps in MP3 quality). I can fit all 200+ of my CD's on 5 HI-MD discs.

The thing I don't like right now is that Sony, as usual sold millions of players, and only a small handfull of recordable discs for them, so you're stuck bidding on ebay, or waiting on backorder from the vendors. Plus the 10 pack of HI-MD discs are only sold in Canada, whats up with that? ... Read more
