5-0 out of 5 stars Great Price and Fast Shipping!!
Great Price and Fast Shipping!! This cable can easily cost up $25.00 in a retail store. Nice color, great connections, and a great all around deal!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Cable in any size
I bought these Belkin cables. They are very nice quality. They seem heftier than a lot of the other cables. My system analyst neighbor mentioned that he prefers to buy the 1000 foot roll. He runs them to wall outlets, then uses the 7 foot or 14 foot snap in cable from the wall to the PC. That way, you don't have to buy a 40 dollar crimping tool.
You can't solder these cables. They require a metal to metal contact, and lead-solder doesn't qualify. Also, it is critical to keep them spiraled, all the way up to the end. Even when attaching, instructions call for twisting them right up to the connection.
Since the tech instructions, tell you to keep them down to under 350 feet, these cables, whether they are long or short, are in the right lengths.
I know Amazon doesn't print prices in their reviews, but they have the local major chain office supply stores beat hands down. The 50 foot roll was half again as much locally.
These are the Category 5e cables. They give you a better return feed, which results in better overall performance. So insist on 5e instead of just 5. I initially bought some wall plates from Radio Shack that were Category 3, then I returned those for the snap in option Category 5. Those were returned also, when I went to Home Depot (of all places to go networking) and they had the complete Leviton line of 5e accessories.
If I had to do it over again, I would still buy the Belkin 50 footers. I don't want to have a 500 foot roll of ethernet cable hanging around.
These are tops. Gold plated connectors, Snag free ends, that protect that little lock in tab on the ends. You know the frustration of unsnarling a phone wire, out of a wiring mess, and the little tab bends over backwards, never to work properly again. Well Belkin built twin arches over the sides to prevent just that. Way to go. Highly recommended, good stuff, for a good price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Its a cable.
Functional, but not my favorite snagless design. The rubber half-boots over the cable ends interfeer with the removel of this cable. This is not a problem if you're not taking the cable in and out like I do, or if you never have the cable in a tight connection like I do.There are better designs, like the ones with an additional piece of plastic covering the connection from the opposite direction.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good network cabling!
If you have--or are getting ready to string together-- a network, this cable is the best "glue" to hold your network together.

I have never had any problems with any of the Belkin cables that I have purchased and to put it bluntly, they just work!

When youstring a network together, and go through the hassle ofinstalling your NICs, running cable, and attaching the connectors, the last thing you want is a bad cable.

Buy these cables and put these fears to rest. String 'em and forget 'em. They work as your "silent partner" on your network and provide a stress-free network computing environment--at least where the cabling is concerned!

(and you thought you couldn't say a lot aboutan ethernet cable)

2-0 out of 5 stars Not so good
One of the two ends was broken. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars They're very good indeed!
They're well made, excellent sounding interconnects from a well known audiophile company --I own some of their more upscale/esoteric audio and video cables.I purchased the 20 ft. run for connecting my DVD player to my Labtec Pulse 475 speaker sys. used with my laptop. This enables me to play DVD audio or music CDs whether or not my laptop is on.Please keep in mind that even though these wires were meant to channel a source signal from the mini plug to the RCA connectors and ultimately to your receiver (yep, the arrows near the RCA plugs is showing the intended direction of signal flow) one can use them in a way such that the signal is forced to flow in the opposite direction instead but consistently so, as I have. The penalty is small, and it disappears after the burn-in period, 3-4 mos.

Similarly, I've used their 2 meter Interlink 400 MK II version of this cable to connect my portable CD player to my Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 speakers used with my home workstation with outstanding results! The only caveat:in order to fully benefit from cable at this level (quality), all links in the audio chain must, at least, equal the cable's quality since the cable itself IS an audio component or device; otherwise, one may never hear a difference. The chain is as good as its weekest link.Benefits:natural midrange, soundstaging and image details are believable, and bass has nice slam.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great, but...
My friend has this cord to connect his iPod to his stereo, and it works great, great sound, good ease of use etc. I wanted one so I went to Bestbuy today and got one by RCA that sounds just as good for $7.99.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Part for your home audio system
This is a great part of your home audio system should you decide to hook your computer or other device with a minijack plug in to it.A good long cable (other lengths are sold both in a M HP-10 and in the THX series). If you are unsatisfied with your current speakers, and have a good hifi system, but lack the digital connections such as S/PDIF out or Optical on your system, this is the way to go.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth the $$$
I previously had tried to connect my PC sound card to my stereo receiver in order to play my MP3's on a real system and not my subpar computer speakers...but the sound I got from those cables, was absolutely horrendous.I quickly did more research and discovered Monster Cable's 20' minijack-to-RCA cable (perfect since my PC and stereo are on opposite sides of my room, I still have cable length to spare) and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality sound reproduction.Of course, the sound coming out of your stereo will depend on the quality of that component itself, but with Monster Cable's dual cable and single length (no extension cords to cause dissipation of the sound signal) you too will want to get this equipment...Especially, if you're an audiophile and listen to MP3's all the time, like me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not sure if it's worth the money?Read on.
If you're like me, you are probably wondering if these little cables are actually worth the money. I was using cheap thin wired connections before, and my receiver would have LOTS of background noise and buzzing, so I thought I'd go ahead and give these things a shot. Afterall, I listen to MP3's all the time on my computer through my high end receiver. I'll tell you what, these things work great, and are worth the extra money. Now keep in mind, I'm an audiophile who is very picky about sounds. So for the casual listener who doesn't mind occasional background hissing or lack of crystal clear sound transfer from your computer to your receiver, you might be able to find a cheaper connection. But once again, I think the extra $$ is well worth it and I HIGHLY recomend these. Your only concern here is an economical one. As far as the product is concerned, these things are top notch.Get the 20 feet if you have to go across the a long wall or room to connect your computer to the receiver, otherwise the 10 ft should suffice. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Viking 64MB SmartMedia Card, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Apprehensive about buying at first. But now I'm glad I did!
I needed a bigger card for my FujiFilm 2600z camera, which I also got off amazon.com almost two years ago.It came with a 16mb card but I needed something bigger, especially with my wedding coming up.

I was looking at the 128mb Memorex SmartMedia Card, but I discovered my camera was not on Memorex's compatibility list.My next choice was the 64mb card from Viking.I was a little skeptical at first because I had never heard of them before. However, after reading some great reviews from other amazon.com shoppers I decided to give it a shot (especially because it was priced lower then most of the others).

I could not be happier!First off I went from only being able to hold 20 photos (at max quality), to around 82!I have been using the card for months, taking photos, deleting them, transferring them to my PC, and so far it has been working great. The card also came with a plastic protective case, which is now where my 16mb card resides.

If I ever decide to go with the larger 128mb card, or if I get a new camera, I will definitely consider another Viking memory card, and would recommend their product to any of my friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heavy EBAY auction lister gives "Two Thumbs Up" to this card
Between listing items at home and at a high-volume bookstore, we probably list about 300 items a week. And for that, I take sometimes 1,000s of pictures - each week! This card has been continually used for some two years now, working five days a week -with not a single problem.

Each of our images is under 350k for EBAY aauctions and I can save 292 high quality images at a time - and they always turn out well. I highly recommend this card. For our day-to-day jobs - we will only use this Viking card. It has never failed us. I use it at home. It's taken in and out of the camera many, many times, and it just keeps on working. It really is our workhorse.

1-0 out of 5 stars BE AWARE
I went on vacation, made 81 photos with my 3020 Olympus camera and then when I wanted to transfer my photos, the card gave me a formating error. So now all my pictures are lost. Will not buy this product again!

5-0 out of 5 stars Skeptical at first, but...a definite value!
I purchased my 64MB Viking SmartMedia card along w/my (2MP) Olympus D-510 Zoom digital camera. For the past year, I've used both products w/out problem. While I was initially skeptical of the Viking product (due to the comparably low price), I've been extremely satisfied.I've never lost pictures (or video) or had any trouble w/data transfer. It does its job.In fact, I'm so satisfied w/my experience that I've just ordered an additional 128MB Viking SmartMedia card (for additional storage on an upcoming photo-intensive vacation). While experiences w/different cameras may vary, I definitely recommend this product.

Note:For most 2MP digital photographers, I think the 64MB card is probably plenty; however, at the low prices Viking offers, I'm choosing to get an additional card as a "failsafe" (in the event that I run out of space) so that I don't ever have to lug my laptop w/me on vacation. If you're using something beyond 2MP you'd probably be better off just considering the 128MB card, though. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Works Amazing!
I bought this cable before reading all the reviews. Once I read them I became nervous that I was going to have many problems with it. What I found out when I got it is that most of the people who gave it bad reviews either didn't have an understanding of how it is supposed to be used, or didn't install it correctly. Maybe I'm wrong and there really was a bad batch of cables going around but here is some information that will help you avoid any problems with it.

*Take off the clear plastic caps on both ends (If you don't you won't be able to get 5.1 surround).
*Make sure everything is securly fastened.
*Turn Dolby Digital and DTS on in the audio options menu of the Xbox.
*When your Xbox is on with no game in it, it dosen't put out 5.1 even with the cable. So if you turn on your xbox once you've hooked the cable up and your reciver says its only going through 2 channels, don't panic, its supposed to do that.
*Most importantly many xbox games don't support dolby digital (5.1). Infact most don't, and it is impossible to get 5.1 surround out of a game that dosen't support it. So check the back of the game where its says the number of players and xbox live info. If a green box says "In Game Dolby Digital" you will get 5.1 surround with this cable. If not, you will only get 2 channels and a sub. So check the game first.
*May not be vital, but unplug your RCA audio from your tv or your reciver before you hook this up.

I hope this information helps. Don't let the few bad reviews scare you from buying this. If used correctly it will give you amazing sound. It is truly worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars These do not work with some Gamelink 200 X
Don't buy these for the Gamelink 200 X, chances are that it won't work like it should.

I've had my Gamelink 200 X cables for around 2 years. I recently happened to buy a 5.1 system, so I decided to buy the Lightwave 100 X toslink cable from Monster Cable.

When I set everthing up and turned on my XBOX, I went to the audio settings only to find out that my Gamlink 200 X and Lightwave 100 X didn't unlock the Dolby Digital/DTS menu. I still only saw the "Mono, Stereo, Dolby Surrond" menu. Therefore, it transmites the signal as PCM Stereo, and not Dolby Digital or DTS.

I contacted Timothy Pryde from Monster Cable to see if he could send me a replacement 200 X cable. He did, and that cable didn't work either. So I contacted him again, and he sent me another 200 X cable, that one didn't work either to my surprise.

After trying the second he sent, I just gave up, and asked him if he could just send me a Monster Video cable, so I could just buy Microsoft's Advanced AV pack. He said that was just fine.

Right now I'm waiting for a UPS slip to be e-mailed to me so I can send back the two cables he sent me. And when he recieves the cables, he said he will send me the Monster video cable.

He was really helpful, and all in all, I'm very happy with the outcome; he let me keep my Gamelink 200 X incase I need to use my XBOX with a TV set/system that doesn't have an optical input. And he said he was going to thoroughly test the Gamelink 200 X cables to see what's the problem. He said he wasn't aware of this problem before, and mentioned it as being "weird".

I gave the Lightwave 100 X 5 stars because it is a solid cable that works perfectly without the Gamelink 200 X

Hopefully, Monster cable will find the problem, and ship newly designed Gamlink 200 X cables.

3-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
I am extremely happy with the image and sound quality of this product once I got things working, but beware, some of these cables are faulty.

I purchased a new Monster Cable XGL400 and XGL-LW100 mid-December 2003 with a new Xbox and was surprised to find that the optical cable was not transmitting an audio signal when connected.I exchanged the cables for a new set and now everything works.I didn't change anything else, just plugged the new cable in and presto.

It's discouraging that a company like Monster Cable would ship a product that had not been tested.Unfortunately, they are the only show in town so be careful and return the cables if you run into any problems.Don't spend the hours trying to trouble-shoot bad cables as I did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't be avoided with a 3.5mm to TOSLINK cable
It was suggested that the Monster XBOX video cables would accept a 3.5mm optical plug; this would be a great workaround as adapters to TOSLINK are significantly less expensive. Alas, the proprietary connector on the Monster cables is too small for even a 3.5mm plug and this product is the only way to pair a Monster video connection upgrade with a digital audio connection. ... Works well with the NEC 2510A, but not recognized at all by the Pioneer 106D.

1-0 out of 5 stars Junk
Do not buy this media, Waste of money, Bought it to use with my Toshiba XS32 recorder and they do not work so I was like fine I can use them on my PC take them to my PC and mind you I have 2 different PC DVD recorders a Sony and a Toshiba and they both wont read or write to them. These things are junk, Firmware is upgraded to latest on both drives, That is not the issue. I would give 0 stars if I could, A complete waste of money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work for Data or Video
I have 2 DVD writers BTC 1008 (8x DVD+-R/RW) and Maddog 4x (DVD-R/RW).

The Kingston 64MB Secure Digital Memory Card, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars CF+ compatibility is an issue for some
This little device works great: my Canon PowerShot S50 liked it just fine and wanted to shoot 4000+ pictures.

However, the Konica Minolta A2 is not compatible with this device; use a conventional CF interface device instead. A2 only saw 2GB out of 6GB. The A2 has no problem with 4GB Compact Flash cards, I used a Kingston Elite Pro CF successfully. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with Marantz
I have a Marantz CD recorder DR 6000. A previous generation of Memorex Music CD-R worked fine (White with purple lettering and blue recording surface) This new generation will not be read by this recorder. The recorder could not initialize and gave an disc error with several I tried. It Worked fine with some new SONY CDRs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Will not record
I finished up my last batch of these discs bought some time ago, without a problem. BUT the next batch purchased most recently will not record on my Philips CDR 765. There are too many different types of media discs and not labeled properly. Should be an industry standard that the consumer can readily see that they can use them. Not sure what to get now or if another brand will work properly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointed
It appears these music CD-Rs do not work on most home CD players.I can only get them to work in my computer and in my car CD player (and that doesn't play back as great a quality as I'd like).I thought these would work since I had previously bought JVC Audio CD-Rs which are awesome.I won't bother with these again and unfortunately, I bought two spindles!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Playbility
I have tried a handful of different CD-R's in the past few years, and these have the best quality. Memorex did a great job with these black CD-Rs.

The black colour on them looks great, as well.

I use these to burn audio cds, and every track sounds as crisp and clear as on the original cd. Another advantage to these are that you can see dust on them perfectly, so they are easier to maintain. There are absolutely no problems I have encountered with these cds, I highly recommend them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Try the 10-Pack..
I wanted to try this Memorex CD-R, 80 Minute in the 10-pk box before committing to a 50-Pk spindle. I've had nothing but good luck with these CD-R's. (Not a coaster in the bunch!!)
If you aren't sure about getting that 50-pk spindle, go on and order the 10-Pack.Give them a try and(if you are as satisfied as I am with their performance) order that 50-pk spindle..you won't be disappointed!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Woks Great!!!
I had slight confusion whether to choose the sony 64 MB memory stick, which is nearly the same price or this one, which has twice the memory capacity of the previous one. I choose this one for the better deal and to add to my surprise J&R Electronics shipped it so quickly(You guys Rock!!!). This one comes par with sony memory media in every field. So why choose the one with lesser memory capacity. Choose this one and feed your camera with some memory space!

5-0 out of 5 stars Ninguna diferencia.

4-0 out of 5 stars A+ for product, F for rebate
I've been using Lexar sticks for over a year with
a Sony digital camera. I've never had a problem with
a stick going bad, nor have I ever lost a single photo.

Although I crossed my t's and dotted my i's and sent
the rebate form in weeks before the 'must be received
by' date, the envelope was returned unopened, stamped
PROGRAM CLOSED. Not nice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy it if the price is right
I mean the selling price...forget about the rebate from Lexar.I will get mine when pigs fly.

I haven't seen any compatible issue between Lexar/Sandisk and Sony brands. Now there is a new format called Memory Stick Pro that are compatible with the old format.Other than this, I can't figure out how it could be incompatible among brands. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I've tried it all...
...and this is the best media I have come across at the 16x speed.I have tried it on three brands of burners with only 1 failure out of 50 tries (and that one was likely as much my system's fault than the disk's fault). The three DVD Burners brands that I have used are Lite-on, Rosewill, and MicroAdvantage. They ARE buggy on certain Pioneer Burners, so you may want to avoid them if you are using a Pioneer.

With regard to high failure rates, before giving up, be sure to update the latest firmware on your burner, turn off any programs running during the burning stage, and make sure your power supply is sufficient (which can cause errors at higher speeds or the outside of the disk). If that doesn't work, you may want to try different software; when I did, my cheap DVD's went from jumping around to solid as a rock.If you still have high failure rates, it could be defective and subject to warranty.Otherwise, you may just have to stay away.

But, in my opinion, these are the most reliably produced disks out there, with Ridata coming in a close second.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Problems at 16X so far
I bought a new 16X burner for my PC and have tried the 25pk Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R media on it.I have not had any failures so far burning at 16X and the playback has been fine.I have bought another 25pk of this media.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best 16x media in the market
Verbatim 16x DVD+R (media code MCC004, by Mitsubishi) is currently one of the best 16x DVD+R media in the market, in my opinion. I have 100 of these (4x25 pack) and consistenly burn excellent in my Plextor 712a (at 12x) and two BenQ 1620A (at 16x). By excellent means every burn will give a very low PIE/PIF (Parity Inner Errors/Failure) and zero POF (Parity Outer Failure). I'm sorry if its too technical but this is how I measure burn quality. When the burn quality is excellent, you will most likely never get any playback problem. Visit cdfreaks dot com in "media" or "dvd recording" forum for more information. I also own many different media from Taiyo Yuden TY T01/T02/G02, Ricoh R01/R02, Sony08D1, MCC003/004 etc and can confirm that MCC004 is one of the best quality. For your information, these companies (TY, Ricoh, Sony, Mitsubishi, Maxell) make a very good "dye" for DVD and CD disks under different brand (Fuji, TDK, Memorex, Verbatim, Sony etc), along with other poor dye makers. With a dvd identifier (free) you can check the media code of the disk, hence you will know who makes the disk.

1-0 out of 5 stars A bad choice for 16x writing
With a destructive toddler in the house I like to back up my DVD movies.
Having recently purchased a 25 unit spindle, I recently tried backing up several DVDs with my sony DRU-710A 16x DVD recorder.Although the recording process initially did seem to work smoothly, when I attemped to play back the disks recorded at 16x speed, I would have read errors and lockups on DVD players usually towards the end of the film (the outside of the physical disk, where maximum recording speed is obtained.)
I did have better reliability recording at 4x speed and suspect that 8x writes will work fine as well.Given the fact that I paid a premium for this new high speed media, I am disappointed.I have had nearly 100% reliability with Memorex 8x DVD+R, recently making 25 successful recordings in a row with this brand (ASIN: B0001MKU4S) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars It works perfectly with no flaws
I bought this at the store and thought I was going to have problems with this company but i didn't. I first burned a music cd using Nero 6 and played it on my cd player and it worked with no problems. I also burned an ISO onto another CD-R and was able to use it with a label. Still no problems. I finally put some pictures on another cd and have looked at them from the cd and it has never failed me. This product is very good. I also did some other tests. Cd drives will not be able to read the cd if it is dusty but after it is wiped (even in a circular motion which is bad for the cd) it will work. I don't know if thats any different for any other company... Some one said that putting labels on the CDR will mess it up. It doesn't. At least not for me. I have put around 10 labels on different KHypermedia CDRs and they all work.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD
Usually I need many cds to burn my files, but black cds usually are pretty expensive..
Finally I found cheap and high quality black cds..
At firt, I didn't feel sure about this cd because I had never heard about the brand khypermedia before.. ya~ that was ture...
but you know what.. it's just great!!! ^_^b

5-0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Bargain with High Quality thrown in.
These discs are flat-out-hands-down The Real Thing.
I bought a 50 disc spindle of these last year in a local store because the price was too good to pass up.They burned fine at top speed and down to 2x.Since, I recieved a 100 disc spindle for Christmas (I have a large 600+ CD collection to backup) and bought 2 more 50s and the only "coasters" I've made were my own durned fault.I bought a 30 and a 50 of Memorex and four of those refused to burn.I should have known better from my experiences with their tape products.
I've made audio, data and SVCDs.I even used a few to back up some old freeware that is no longer extant anywhere but private archives and freed up hard disc space in the bargain. That's high praise indeed!I've successfully overburned a couple to 82 minutes(equiv.) packing on audio books ripped to mp3 for trips.
Never have I had a problem with a CD-ROM or DVD or CD audio player reading these.Anecdote?I have a CD that my 12 year old Discman refuses to play anymore.I ripped it with Exact Audio Copy, burned it with Nero and that 12 year old Discman happily plays that new disc all the way through without a glitch. That saved me the cost of the spindle right there.
The busiest discs are still in fine condition through many, many trips in and out of the CD sleeve. (Maxells seem to have a surface made of gelatin, they scratch so easily.)
Complaints?Well... The K-Hypermedia logo takes up all of the top half of the disc so if you want to write comments, you'd better be brief or be willing to put in the time (and money) to make your own labels. That's it.
Conclusion: I use TDK mainly because they are easier to find, but I don't hesitate to buy these because they are no-name and neither should you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard to trust a value brand, isn't it?
In April 2003 (six months before this writing) I was dimly aware that I was running out of CD-Rs, and so when Amazon's front page confronted me with this cheap spindle of something called "KHypermedia" I actually paid attention instead of clicking on through.I'm usually wary of value brands of anything, especially those I've only seen online, but because these discs were on sale from an already very low price, and because I was ordering something anyway, I clicked them into my cart.

I've now burned dozens of music CDs, video CDs, and data storage CDs from this spindle, and they've all been fine and remain so.No skips, no coasters, no degradation over time --- in short, no difference from any other CD-Rs I've used.If this is the best per-disc price you've seen on this particular shopping trip, go for it. ... Today with lot's of storing media running around, you must be careful into choosing the right one that's for you, and also, you must check your camera manual so you can know up to how much memory it can stand, some time ago I bought a polaroid PDC-640 cam, and it wont take smartmedia cards larger than 8MB, so be careful in choosing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice
Before you buy this product, make sure it's compatible with the camera you want to use it in. This 32mb smart media card is a nice fat batch of memory for storing your digital camera's photos. It's 4 times the size of memory from the 8mb that consumers often get with their digital cameras. Depending on the settings in which you snap your pictures, you can fit up to approximately 200 photos on this card! I've maxed out and re-used my card dozens of times and I have never encountered any problems with it. Assuming I snap a good photo with my camera, the images are stored in their brilliant, colorful and clear quality. This card (which is the size of a quarter) is very reliable and not difficult to use. Don't be dissuaded by the price, it's worth it considering that you'll be re-using it many times unlike regular film.

5-0 out of 5 stars bought wrong kind - check your camera!
I wanted to buy a new smart media card for my digital camera.I thought the 32mb cards would be great.Only thing is my camera, 2 years old, won't support the card.It will only recognize cards up to 16 mb.Please be sure to check your cameras guidlines before purchasing accessories!

4-0 out of 5 stars A few Querks
I own an Oly C2100 and love digital over film! The fact that you can delete, view, do movie/audio....its a lot to remember.I have the 8mb smartmedia that came with the Oly and like everyone, found out that a plain 32mb smartmedia card wouldn't let me select 'panorama' just when I needed it, made me HOT.I took the the shots and they where OK but the lighting did change a bit between frames.I wouldnt have bought the 'plain' card had I know before( but 'If' and 'Ida' were playing this card game). The second issue is the 'scratch factor'.I have only removed the 8mb card 6 times and I notice certain areas of the metal surface beginning to wear.Take care to insert/remove the card gentley and at the proper orientation(square) as the clearance in the the camera slot and reader slot is too tight. I find that setting the image size down one size (most 2.1 megapixals default at 1200x1600) allow more photo storage and one less step to take when emailing and printing. Also take a lot of shots and enjoy as this media (camera/card) will be obsolete before we know it. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars The card stops working in 4 days.
I purchased the card one month ago. First of all, the card received is different from the picture. It is thinner than the picture and doesn't have the write protector. Worst of all, my camera can not detect the card after 4 days use. I tried with another camera and two PDAs. None of them can detect the card. I contacted the ventor and requested a refund for the purchase. I finally got the refund but the shipping was deducted. I am not sure what the logic is here. Am I responsible for receiving the defective product? I won't bother to argue with them for the shipping charge but there is one thing for sure. I will never buy anything from SimpleTech again. I should give them one star rating but consider their promptness in replying email, I give them 2 stars rating.

3-0 out of 5 stars The product received is different from the picture
Just received the SimleTech STI-SD/512, and realized it looks different from the picture. It is thinner, black color and plus no "lock" switch. What's going on Simpletech, are you sending me an inferior product?

5-0 out of 5 stars The best SD with the best customer service!!
I got some SimpleTech SDs and let me say that these are the best SD I ever had. Incredible fast and reliable. Never lost a byte!!
Also they have a great customer service. I issued an order but the product couldn't be shipped on time. So i sent an email to them and they immediately canceled the order and refund me. No words!!! This is the vendor to go!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth two
Worth two? Yes, because this is my second purchase of a Simpletech SD card. This brand is not one of the least expensive, and it's for good reason. It's very dependable. I've never lost photo data; nor have I had any of them become corrupted. True, there are 1 gigabyte SD cards out right now, but having two 512 MB cards instead is not too bulky, anyway. Simpletech is a known quantity. Other brands aren't, and all I hear is how people have gotten defective cards from the other brands. Not Simpletech. This is my brand of choice. Can't wait for their 1 GB!

5-0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
Yes, there are cheaper SD cards. But read their fine print:they (the cheaper ones) are slow - and often unreliable.Don't cripple your investment in a digital camera by going cheap on the SD memory card.

Get this one.It rocks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Flawless Performance
I purchased a Lexar Media 512 MB Secure Digital Memory Card for use in a digital camera and an MP3 player. I've had it for about a year. The card functions great in both devices. I have absolutely no complaints.

4-0 out of 5 stars 512 megs, at a premium.
For a long time, MultiMediaCards (MMCs) were a tough sell against other formats such as CompactFlash & SmartMedia (and lately vs Sony Memory Sticks too), largely because they were offered in smaller memory capacities and always had a higher cost-per-meg than those formats. The SD card (interchangeable with MMC cards) is a format which has some distinct advantages over the other formats in terms of physical size and memory protection. However, when compared to other SD cards of smaller sizes (eg. the several 256MBs available), there is a considerable premium here on a dollar-per-meg basis (all of those are well under 50 cents per meg). I think for most folks it makes more sense to buy two 256 MBs than to put all one's eggs (and files) in one costlier basket. When the new 1 Gig cards come out, the price on the 512s will drop.

5-0 out of 5 stars Reliable brand
Lexar is a reliable brand, like Viking.I'm getting this 512MB SD card to test it. ... Read more
