4-0 out of 5 stars Headphones I have loved...
These headphones have got probably the best sound range for a $22.00 dollar pair of headphones I have ever heard. The noise canceling is also pretty incredible (that is comparing to headphones with no electronic help what so ever on noise canceling in this price range). I have owned personally the Bose TriPorts and these Sony MDRs may not have the exceptional clarity the TriPorts do, and lack the exceptional noise canceling, but having had to return the TriPorts for breaking many a time I rather the sturdy exceptional quality of these headphones for the price. I now only use the TriPorts when sitting in an armchair at home (kind of takes away the mobility of these things) because I am totally afraid of them breaking again and having to resend them in (I wish Bose would just give me a refund). I hope to someday save enough for a better pair like a Sennheiser or Grados, which I thought my Bose would be comparable to. For now, while my TriPorts are in the shop again, these things are irreplaceable. These things are so sturdy they can be stepped on accidentally without breaking too, which shows Sony isn't in it for instantaneous replacement which always makes me happy in technology. Even though these are exceptional, everything has a problem. The problem with eyewear (which I have previously seen mentioned), but is minimal for me since I normally use these on my 60gb iPod at bed time, walking the dog, or sitting on the couch, I find myself in almost a more concentrated place without thinking about other things as I did with my glasses on. If you are looking for better sound quality, or have glasses and you would like to use them while listening , I would recommend the really nice earbuds the Apple Store sells. The Bangs & Olfsun ear clips are also really nice. These run around 149.99 to 179.99. The JVCs that Apple also sells on there store which are the same form factor as these are also really nice, and don't push on you as much (physically, or on the piggy bank), but after around three hours of listening to an audio book you should still be ready to take a break with the JVCs. All in all, four stars to Sony, fix the eye glasses problem and you should have a five on me for the price you sell these at. As to the earring problem, and long hair, I have never seen a pair of headphones that are full form factor that wouldn't interfere.

4-0 out of 5 stars cheap but good w/ specific disclaimer
...while i'm not going to make like george zimmer of the men's wearhouse & make any sort of guarantee about whether or not you will personally enjoy using these headphones if you happen to buy them, i will still none the less state that i don't think that you'll (most of you, at least) find them a waste of your money. these headphones are probably the second best pair soundwise that i've personally owned or used & they're a whole heck of a lot cheaper than the best pair, which probably ran near or just over $100 at the time (which was about a decade ago- i can't spell the make properly so i'm not going to foul things up for you that way).

some reviewers of this product have stated that the reproduction of mids & highs is poor with this item & that lows are overly emphasized; i beg to differ & certainly feel that the reproduction, while indeed boosting bass, is more than acceptable across the entire audible frequency range & that highs are still crisp. the 6 foot cord that these headphones have obviously restricts their use to an indoor setting (you aren't going to jog with them on); the fact that the cord is a little on the thick side is actually quite good, as the wires within are thus a little better protected & less likely to develop pulls or tears.

the only reason (here's the disclaimer) that i would not give these headphones- given the undeniable sound value that they are- 5 stars is the following: some reviewers have commented on the discomfort that those of us who wear earrings might experience; that being said, i wear a stud in 1 ear & it's not that which comes into play with discomfort, but my eyeglasses. frankly, i usually have to take them off if i'm using these headphones for any extended period of time. so, i take my glasses off when actually i'd like to leave them on & that being so i award no fifth star! well, enough babble ... wearers of eyewear be at least mildly aware- for all you other folks, definitely still cheap but good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality headphones for a decent price
I wanted a pair of decent headphones for home use, so I purchased the MDR-V150 Sony stereo headphones at Best Buy for $20.99 (w/o tax). For the price, they are very good headphones. They have quite a bit of bass, which is something I prefer over the wimpy or non-existent bass in headphone "clips" or the sport headphones. The ear cups are very comfortable and cancel out some sound as well. The chord is a bit thick and definitely extra long, around 6 feet in length. But honestly that would be my only complaint if I had to complain about these headphones. Overall just a good pair of quality of headphones for home use.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Paired with an Emerson HD8118 personal cd player, these are the most awesome headphones I have ever had. The only reason there is no fifth star is because there was a little too much bass in the sound (too much bass from 30mm little drivers? the second smallest driver size?) but not too much that it makes me complain. Sony will not let you down with this great but cheap pair of headphones. Buy, buy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price
I purchased these a few days ago at Best Buy. I wanted a good pair of headphones for home use. My Panasonic ear clips are more for use exercising and outside. Excellent sound on these! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the headband is a little snug on the top of my head (I have larger than normal head), so I have to have them tilted a little. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars works good with Memorex, Liteon.. more than 800 disc burned
I have a Memorex True 8x, with this i burn more than 100 disc with only 1 bad disc... Previous I have a liteon 4x and burn 300 disc with only 2 bad disc... my father look this brand and saw that this DVDs look good, he ask me for 5 and he liked it... then he buyed 400 disk to sale between friend an others.. incredible, only have 2 bad disc and he will buy more...

I have record in 8x with a P V 1.4 Ghz, a disc with 8 Mb cache and 256 Ram... the speed is great

5-0 out of 5 stars works great
I use this brand of DVD+R on my Plextor PX-712A, with the latest firmware available that I downloaded on 12/06/04, and I have had no problems with it at all. Also works just great on my brother's PX-708.Burned discs even work in my mom's Sony DVD player.

4-0 out of 5 stars Having good luck with these disks
I have a SONY DRU-710A 16x burner. So far I have had very good success with this 8x media and it is reading fine off two different DVD players in my home.So far I have used up an entire spindle and am pleased.

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with my NEC ND-2100AD
I have burned many DVDs of different brands without any problem in the past. But this new Memorex DVD+R 8x media does not work for me. Even though the media can be written without any reported error, a 60 minutes DVD movie play starts jittering after 30+ minutes on the same DVD-writer as well as my consumer dvd player. I have tried 3 disks with different movies and they all have this same problem. But the exact same DVD copies on my old Memorex DVD+RW 4x media have no such reading problem at all.

I have also updated my DVD-writer to the latest firmware, but the reading problem still exists. So be sure your DVD drive can use this new media before you buy it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Problems working with Toshiba 5272
I recently changed dvd burners to use a toshiba 5272 8x burner. I was hoping to use this media, with its excellent price, but found that although the disks would write, they were not readable. I have used other brand 8x +R disks without trouble. These disks might work well with other recorders, but they don't with the Toshiba. I would also suggest that you check out http://www.cdrinfo.com before deciding which media to buy, since they provide great information.

Note: Memorex says they are working with Toshiba to come out with new drivers to make it compatible. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great microphone
This is a great microphone. I bought it and tested all functions the same day.I am shooting some non-budget short movies and it comes in very handy.Very clean sound.Deep base and crisp high tone. The price is outstanding, I feel like I'm ripping off Audio-Technica.What a steal!I don't see any reason not giving it 5 stars. It does what it promises for so little money. My only wish is that the cable would be a little longer, but then it would loose on quality, because it's not an XLR connector.Who cares though, most camcorders don't come with XLR anyway (not mine).I say buy it, you won't regret it.It's gold for peanuts.

    4-0 out of 5 stars cheep+decent pickup=worth it
    this is a good mic
i just got back from our first shoot using this thing insted of onboard camera mics
    what a difference
    the range in incridble
we had someone just walk out and keep talking, i switched the mic to tele and i could hear him allmost 100 meters away from the camera on headphones
has both tele (for long distance, often picks up to much back ground noise, and is not best for close up situations) and normal(which has decent distance as well and works fine indoors)
the only problem was that we kept getting it in the picture, but thats not a mic malfunction, just me being stupid
the windscreen is very useful, i have allways had trouble with wind using onbard camera mics, and this works much better
yes, it is mono, only putting out sound to the left ear, but using premeire you can just duplicate the left audio track and it comes out fine.

    well worth it
only downside is the tele pickup gets a bit fuzzy with backgroundnoise

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good at its intended purpose
Been using my ATR-55 for over a year.Really like the amplified TELE feature that seems to reach out and grab sounds, without picking up hardly any surrounding noise. But hey, its uni-directional, so that's one of the things it's supposed to do.Nevertheless, the NORMAL zone is about a 120degree V in front of the mic, and the TELE is about a 90degree V-zone.Was videotaping our school's football game, and filmed one half in TELE mode, and the second half in NORMAL mode. The TELE mode was almost eerie, because you could pick up the voices out on the field, but all the surrounding noise (fans) could hardly be heard. The NORMAL mode picked up a little more audience noise, so it sounded more natural, but nevertheless still filtered out the other people talking in the press tower with me.The TELE mode is very nice for lectures, so that it doesn't pick up distracting noises, including that of the camcorder's mechanism- that's why I go this in the first place, because the OMNI-directional microphone in the digital camcorder was picking up too much noise (including its own motor) during really quiet lectures.Just be aware that this unit is _not_ stereo - you should either get a mono-to-stereo adapter to use with it, or set the sound input on the camcorder to mono.Otherwise, you'll just get sound coming out of one speaker on stereo play-back.If you need stereo, get the ATR-25, which is very nice and also uni-directional, but lacks the ATR-55's TELE feature.Basically, TELE was more important to me than stereo, but it might be different for you.I wear headphones plugged into the camcorder while filming, this way I can better monitor the sound pickup, and make a determination between whether TELE or NORMAL is best for any given situation - the difference is noticeable.I gave it four stars because it is very good, but I'm sure units like a nice Sennheiser are better, but for much more money. This is a nice looking, solidly built unit, and a decent value to boot. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great sound, not quite as great a fit
I've had these for about a year now, and for the price, they are a great set. They seal out external noise very well; with music playing even at moderate levels, I can't hear my coworkers talking in the cubes next to me.They're also very good for first person shooter games, I picked up on very slight noises that I ordinarily wouldn't hear on my other headphones.

The fit is definitely not universal, however.I don't have an overly large head but these cause discomfort after about an hour or so.They just squeeze too tight!I use them at work because I'm normally wearing contacts, but if I wear these with my glasses on they press my ears against the stems so hard it is far from comfortable.

For anyone with a small-medium head size, these are a great set of closed ear headphones for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Bassists
These are perfect for me.I use these for practicing my bass playing as well as for playback on recording applications. The bass is terific, but doesn't drown everything else out. They were a little tight to wear, but after a couple of days they fit perfectly.I find them to be very comfortable even after an hour or two.The cost isn't overwhelming for the overall sound quality.
the chord length is long so you won't have to buy an extension.
Overall these are perfect for what I need, and at the right price.

5-0 out of 5 stars The headphones grow on you...
I migrated from an ultraportable over-ear RadioShack set of headphones which had great sound at the time compared to previous cheap sets of headphones I owned.Unfortunately, the cord was short and the end plug would lose a good connection.I checked these out and noticed reasonable reviews and a stress on the bass.I thought, "Why would that be a problem?Great way to drown out NYC subway noise and so on..."

Initially, I was rather unimpressed with sound quality (I thought there was really no difference from the older cheaper headphones) and it was quite uncomfortable as I was breaking them in.You see, I wear glasses and thus I'm very picky about comfort over my ears and it took 48+ hours for them to become comfortable. Now, I can wear them many hours a day without discomfort and it is getting better.

Yes, the bass is strong, but not overpowering.I've actually used an equalizer to boost the bass in when streaming online radio (Musicmatch and the like)!I've noticed quickly (a) how tinny my previous headphones bass was in comparison and (b) how crappy the quality of some of my MP3s actually is and (c) how having stronger bass helps me to discriminate between crappy music (mindless and simplistic) rhythm/beat and good music which has a more nuanced and complex beat.

So a quick lowdown: long cord is awesome!Bass is slightly emphasized (and crisp!) but mids/trebles are well pronounced.Comfort will grow on you.I definitely recommend it...

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Buy!!
I was really skeptical about buying these headphones, because all the guys were writting how they have too much bass, (and for guys to say too much bass, well, it must be outta control!!)
Let me just say that these headphones, in fact, do "NOT" have too much bass, and rather they sound really nice. It is a very clean, crisp, and smooth sound, that is not overwhelming to the ears, but rather pleasant.
I just received mine today and have only listened to them for 10 minutes, but that was enough for me to write a review.
I highly reccomend these headphones!! And if these headphones seem to have too much bass for you, then there are probably many at Walmart that will take care of that problem for you!!

3-0 out of 5 stars egh
I bought these a couple months ago and i was pretty satisfied with the sound. They might not look as sweet as the pictures made them seem. The cables are extremely long, thin and annoying. It always end up being tangled or something like that.Mine actually ripped so the left right cup isnt working, but i am going throught the sennheiser service policy to get that replaced.I am now considering the sony mdr's priced around $100.If you are extremely serious about your music listening, maybe invest a little more then these sennheisers. ... Product Description

NoiseBuster electronically cancels irritating background noise so you can enjoy peace and quiet or enhanced clarity of music with reduced distortion. Try it on an airplane to reduce engine din and enhance the sounds of in-flight entertainment. It's also great for use with exercise equipment, while commuting or mowing the lawn. Background noise degrades the quality and clarity of music in two ways. First, it masks certain tones in the music, making the sound unbalanced. Second, in order to compensate for noise, people tend to overamplify the music, causing distortion. NoiseBuster solves both problems and therefore delivers the utmost in music clarity when used with portable audio devices. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Peace and Quiet
Here to Hong Kong and back several times. This product saved the day.Not dead quiet but a big enough impact to make sure I was comfortable and undisturbed.Managed to sleep 9 hours on one flight.Didn't hear a thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best noise-cancelling headphone in this price range
I owned the original NoiseBuster Extreme! model for many years. After much hard usage, they were beyond being held together by electrical tape anymore. That's OK, I got my money's worth out of them.

So I went looking for a new set. Before discovering this new Noisebuster model NB-FX, I tried the PlaneQuiet Latitude and NC-6 models. The Latitudes are priced at $20-$30 and are crap: sound quality is horrible, and noise cancellation abilities are limited. The NC-6, priced about the same as the Noisebuster NB-FX is better, but still lacking: sound quality is much muddier than the Noisebusters, and an audible hiss can be heard when the noise cancellation circuitry is on.

The NoiseBuster NB-FX isn't an audiophile headset, but it does produce reasonably clear sound, certainly clear enough for airplane travel and other noisy locations.I'm very happy with the bass, midrange, and treble response. The noise cancellation on this model does not have that audible hiss (even the old Noisebusters did), and does a fantastic job of cancelling out unwanted noise.

My only complaint is the comfort of this headset, but I usually have the same complaint about any set with a band of any kind.My favorite headphone style (for comfort) is earbuds, but I haven't found a set of earbuds acceptable for travel yet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great on a plane
This is the first set of head phones that I spent more then $20 on.I used cheaper ones on plane trips (DVD Player) and i had to press them into my ears in order to hear anything. After 1 trip with the NoiseBuster's I wonder how i ever lived without them. The noise canceling technology is a wonder, all i heard was the sound from the dvd player.Another great feature is the way they fold-up.Although it's not totally flat, it does fold down and fits into my laptop case quite easily.Well worth the purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smaller, lighter and cheaper than the Bose-but works as well
I have had a pair of the previous older model of the NoiseBuster for several years. I have traveled extensively (almost 2 million miles) on the airlines, many with the little airline supplied headsets delivering a poor sound, painfully. The NoiseBusterheadphone will make you incredulous that you are getting high quality sound from an airplane sound system! Who would have guessed it possible. I now use it with my iPod as well, on or off the airplane. The noise cancellation feature even improves the already high quality iPod sound.

I borrowed a friend's Bose headphones for two flights thinking they must be better than the far cheaper NoiseBuster, but they are not. The Bose does have ear cups that will completely cover your ears (well, most ears) for an 'isolation booth' type experience, but the sound is not better with the Bose, as far as I can tell. And the NoiseBuster is small enough to put into a briefcase or (if you carry one) a purse. The Bose is pretty big and needs to be in its own case. The NoiseBuster will fit into the pocket in the seatback in front of you.

If small size, high functionality, travel convienence and price are factors for you the NoiseBuster is the right choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product for the price.
Noise Buster is a great buy for the price. It is comparable to Bose which cost far more than this.I own NoiseBuster for several years and I am very happy with it.I travel about 4 to 5 times per year on airplanes and it cuts down dramatically the sounds. ... Read more

I am not sure which is deffective, but the RIO I have doesn't always read the chip and I am not sure which one has the problems. My guess is the chip since it reads the memory on the player fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Labels
I've used hundreds of these labels & never had a problem. I've used other brands & they've had air bubbles & after a while 'wrinkled', rendering the CD no good. So I continue to use Fellowes Neato.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Not heat-proof
I used dozens of these labels until I found that they come unstuck in the heat inside the car CD player. It cost me $45.00 to have the dealer fix it!I emailed Neato and was told that this is a problem, they have no resolution, and I could use a mineral or citrus based product to remove the labels. They had no plans to produce a heat-resistant product.

This is very unsatisfactory.Surely with all the adhesives available today, they could find one appropriate to this application.

4-0 out of 5 stars Favorite and most economical
Never had a problem with them, tried TDK & Avery and did not like as much as these. Neto is a great product supported by nearly all programs. Recomended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fellowes CD labels
These are very good labels to use. I have never had a problem with them and I have used hundreds of them.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY~~~
I have used over 400 of these labels. I never could figure out WHY all my CD's would make horrible scratching noises after about 20 minutes of playing. Well I have finally found the answer. After the heat of the CD player begins to get hotter, the GLUE on the CD label begins to shift, and rise. This causes the small tolerance of the Cd Player to cause the Cd Player to malfunction. I discovered this because a friend just bought a new cd player and told me the cd I made him started scratching and causing the CD player to shut down. Interesting because this was the same as mine. When it happened to me again, I replaced the Fellowes label cd with a Non labeled CD and suddenly just seconds after I couldn't stand the Scratching noise of the Fellowes Labeled CD the Identical Non Label played for hours without a SINGLE PROBLEM... DO NOT BUY.... 3years and 400+ labels later, fellowes still hasn't improved their product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cheaper alternative to Sony.
After using regular SanDisk Memory Stick Pro, I indeed noticed read/write speed improvement: about twice faster, I would say. SanDisk uses same Sony memory chips as Sony does, they just package them on their own factory, so theoretically you are getting same product with different labels. So why pay extra for "brand", if you can get same product with lifetime warranty anyway?
If you are considering this card for your digital camera, do not set your expectations too high: though you are gonna notice that Ultra-II' write speed doubled over regular cards, the real bottleneck is your camera's shutter lag and size of the camera's internal buffer (in burst mode). In auto-focus mode, the lag on my Sony DSC-717 is still over a second - I'd say about 20% improvement. If you want to shoot faster, learn to use manual focus. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cable
What can you say? It works perfectly and is of high qulity.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cable, the snagless feature saves the cord
These Belkin category 5e cables are well made. They are a good overall gauge thickness and the snag less ends are very beneficial. You may have experienced the problem of untangling a phone cord, only to have the clip on the end bend over or worse yet snap off. The next time you use that cord it doesn't have anything to keep it in the wall. Well what Belkin did with these snag less cables was put twin ridges made out of a rubbery plastic, that puts the snap in clip in a valley down below the ridges. So if you are untangling, those ridges prevent other wires from snagging the clip. That is a great idea. That is not enough to make you want to buy the cable, if it weren't for the fact that it is overall a great cable. The seven-foot length is good for a small patch area, like when connecting your modem to a router, or when your cable or DSL modem and/or router are right next to your computer.
The other nice thing is the price here at Amazon on these cables. I went into the local nationally famous office supply, and they were half again as much money. So overall it is a very nice combination. They also don't slow down your connection at all. I get the same exact connection speed when using the online speed tests when I use the 50-foot, or the 7-foot.
Highly recommended. Buy it here at Amazon and save the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Belkin cables - they're all great
7 feet, just to warn you all, unless you know for sure that the things you're connecting are gonna be close, could be a little tight, especially if you're going around a desk or something.

Looking for cables? Go with Belkin, go with snagless. You'll save yourself a lot of grief.

3-0 out of 5 stars Wrong Color
I don't know anything about the quality of this item, because I received it in the mail today. However, the item is GRAY and NOT almond-colored as shown.

    Amazon.com Product Description

Lexar Media's high-speed digital film helps your camera capture images faster, so you spend more time taking pictures and less time waiting on your camera. Lexar's CompactFlash cards are individually speed rated so you know the minimum capability of the card. Lexar uses the same rating system used by the CD-ROM industry, where a data transfer rate of 1x equals 150 kilobytes per second (KBps). The higher the speed rating, the faster your camera will be able to write images to the memory card.

For professional shooters who need immediate confirmation they've captured the shot or who want to identify accurate exposure levels or bracketing range, Lexar's patented 12X speed (1.8 MBps) transfer rate makes the card ideal for fast-paced applications such as photojournalism, sports, and fashion. And Lexar's solid-state design provides reliability in harsh shooting environments, mandated by professionals throughout the world.

The Digital Film Compliance seal assures you that your Lexar Media digital film is 100 percent compatible with your CompactFlash digital camera. It can also be used in all other digital devices that support the CompactFlash format, such as PDAs, video recorders, and MP3 players. All Lexar Media CompactFlash cards meet the CompactFlash Association's specifications and are marked with the CF+ symbol. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great flash card, great company!
Not only is this a great flash card, the company is great to deal with. On our recent vacation, I accidently deleted all our pictures. I thought they were lost! A friend suggested we try to find someone to try and recover the lost pictures. After several inquires I was directed to send the disk back to the manufacturer with a description of what happened. I called a service rep at Lexar and he said if I sent it to them they would give it a try. To my surprise, they were able to recover the lost pictures and returned my flashcard at no cost. Thanks again to Lexar, you've earned a loyal customer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Memory Card!
I have 4 Canon cameras that use Compact Flash. I decided that I wanted to have a backup card for each camera and I bought 4 of these particular cards for that purpose. CF cards are resonably priced nowadays. This particular card (times 4) has worked very well for me so far and I have not had a single issue regarding it. Based on that I 'have' to give it a 5 star rating.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Card for the price! But beware speed!
This card is great, especially given the price. But beware the 12x- I don't think that many cameras actually take advantage of the speed increase! Maybe with card readers it will download faster, but it certainly hasn't made it possible for me to make more pictures faster on my Canon 10D. But then again this card is an Excellent buy the the cash... it'll be money well spent!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Lexar 12X 256 MB CF Card is great!
I now have eight of these cards, and they have all worked flawlessly! My Nikon Coolpix 880 manual says they aren't tested to work, but Lexar guarantees 100% compatibility. That convinced me to try my first one, and the extra capacity over the 128 MB card is fantastic! I plan to use these more, when I upgrade to a higher megapixel Nikon Coolpix camera.

There's an advantage to having several smaller capacity cards than one big one. If a sole big MB card fails, you have no memory storage, then! This did happen to me on a photo shoot in the Eastern Sierra Nevada, a couple winters ago, with another brand card. Luckily, I've been picking up more memory cards as they went on sales, with rebates and discounts. But with a new 8 MP or more Coolpix, I eventually will get a few more 1 GB, or more, cards.

With my 8 Lexar cards, I can shoot over 2,000 images set mostly at a fine resolution, full-sized, for a 3 MP Coolpix. A seven day road trip filled them up, for me. This does improve the screen viewing image, too, over those at a normal setting.

I am awaiting three rebates currently, and Lexar's rebate notification system is very helpful in making sure they received your rebate forms, receipt copy, and proof-of-purchase.

If you need more memory than comes with any digital camera, I'd strongly recommend this card. With 323 images (set at Full/Normal) to shoot with a 3.34 MP camera, that'll get you through most all a beautiful, shooting day!

5-0 out of 5 stars No problems!
I've been using this card with a Canon S400 camera for about four months now, taken 500+ pictures and transferred them to my computer.I've had absolutely no problems with the card, and it seems to write and erase as quickly as I could want. For me this was an excellent intersection of size and price; a capacity of roughly 125 photos at full four-megapixel resolution is plenty even for my most intensive day of photography, and this won't break the bank.I'm certainly disposed to buy Lexar stuff again in the future. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Quick start for beginning guitarist
I found this to be a very good teaching tool to learn to play rock style music. I have never played the guitar before only the violin for eight years while in school. Now I am in my thirties and thought it would be too difficult to learn to play. I have been through the first four lessons and so far it is great. I can work at my own pace, repeat sections I find difficult and play actual songs with lyrics. It is great to play real music not just practice the chords and riffs (although practice is required, it is just more fun). Great piece of sofware. I combined this with a couple of books to study when not at the computer and this worked great for me. Great job eMedia. I look forwrard to additional eMedia song books for rock music.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great so far!
Though I've odered many times with Amazon, this is the first time I have been excited enough to review a product!I'm an adult who wants to learn guitar for fun and didn't want to play "Mary had a little lamb" and scales for months.I have only used the software for about an hour, and have already been playing parts of songs I actually like!I have been playing guitar for a total of one week prior to receiving this (without any instruction). This is perfect if you don't have the patience or desire to learn the traditional way.I wish I had this when I was 14, I would have loved it.

I can't vouch for the whole thing yet, since I've only played with it for an hour, so I give it 4 stars instead of five. From what I've seen I have no reason to expect that it will let me down and highly recommend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid sound, solid value, extra long cord.
If you are an audiophile, go spend $150 on some overpriced headphones that sound 8% better (I recommend the Grado SR series). For the rest of us, these will do nicely.I have found them very comfortable for long music or gamingsessions. In fact, my housemate borrows my headphones whenever I am out of town because his Sony headphones (around the same price) are uncomfortable. You may have a funny shaped head, but most should find these pleasing to the ears in terms of sound and comfort.

The sound quality is very good. Not audiophile quality, but solid and clear.Very strong base response. If you are used to cheap headphones with no base, you may need a few hours to adjust.

"Mere mortals" should be very pleased. Those with golden ears, save your comments for the outrageously expensive stuff!

Last note:These things are larger than they appear in the photos. They are great for use at home, but they will look goofy if you wear them on the bus with your portable MP3 player!

Highly recommended for home use.And the long cord is great!

5-0 out of 5 stars The pinnicle of auranautical excellence
The absolute best headphones I've ever owned. The bass is incredible, like subwoofers in the ear. The midrange and high tones are perfectly reproduced. I first tried them with fable on the Xbox and you can hear things sneaking up behind you and it sounds like they are behind you.<br /> They fit really well and I can use them for hours on end with no discomfort. The main thing is they pound out bass like there's no tomarrow, gotta love German engineering.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones
Tired of the stock iPod earbuds, I decided to get these headphones and I'm satisfied with the purchase. At first I was a little disappointed in the sound, but after giving it a "burn-in" period they have improved greatly. The sound is very clear and rich, I'm hearing parts of songs that were inaudible before and enjoying more bass. The only downside is that because they are open headphones they allow exterior sounds to seep in, making it hard to hear some songs in a loud area unless you raise the volume a bit which could damage your hearing. They're most ideal at home or a quiet area, but good enough to use on the go.

In terms of portability the cord is extremely long, but I keep it tied up and have not had any trouble.

Overall, they're great headphones, but be aware that open headphones allow sound to seep in.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bang for the buck.
These headphones are very comfortable if you know how to adjust them correctly.People talking about muddy bass are right if you play it extremely loud. You dont want to do that.Music played in excess of 95 decibels can cause u to go deaf. The maximum of decibels on this is 114 so yeah these can make u deaf.So play music lower than 95 db if u wanna hear for the rest of your life.If you play music very low to moderate like me the bass is perfect. The belt clip that stores extra cord is very handy because i have a ipod that doesnt require much cord at all.

2-0 out of 5 stars All bass all the time...
Pro: I really prefer the fabric covered ear pads. Very comfortable.

Con: The sound of these headphones is very disappointing.

The package says "Enhanced Bass" and the bass is definitely enhanced; to the point of being ridiculous. These provide indistinct, throbbing, muddy bass that makes you ears hurt after a short time. You can correct some of this with drastic EQ settings by why should you have to do that?

Other users say that a 12+ hour break-in period helps, but if anything, that made things worse.

I think this is an attempt by Sennheiser to satisfy the same people who thinkgood sound means rattling windows....quantity instead of quality.

If you think over-driven car stereos that make the ground vibrate are cool, these are for you. But if you prefer balanced sound with rich bass, look elsewhere. ... Read more

If you own a portable digital device that contains data and information, there's a good chance it stores that information on a removable memory card. When it comes time to transfer or copy that information to your computer for processing, editing, or safekeeping, you have a couple of choices. Firstly, you can connect the device directly to your computer via whatever method it supports. This could present problems, depending on the connection type and speed, the size of the device, and the durability of its connection port and the projected longevity of its batteries.

Alternately, you can remove the memory card and insert it in a dedicated card reader. Of course, you must ensure the card reader in question supports your memory card format(s) and operates at top speed. Lexar's Multi-Card USB 2.0 Card Reader is one such product.

It's definitely fast. Taking advantage of high-speed USB 2.0 connections, the Lexar system transfers data incrementally faster (theoretically up to 40-times as fast) than similar products using conventional USB 1.1. It's also quite likely compatible with whatever memory cards you currently use. Indeed, the sleek and futuristic unit supports all the following formats: CompactFlash (types 1 and 2), Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard, SD Card, xD-Picture Card, MicroDrive, MS Duo, MS PRO Duo, miniSD and RS MMC.

    5-0 out of 5 stars True plug-and-play
I used Lexar Media Multi Card REader in my P2120 Fujitsu laptop via a USB 2 PC-Card adapter. It's truly plug-and-play without any need of drivers in Windows XP.

2-0 out of 5 stars Lexar products usually pretty good, BUT
You may find the Lexar USB 2 Multicard Reader does not work with your computer. Or if it does work, it works erratically. Lexar is way behind the times on providing drivers for both Windows and Macintosh. In Mac OS X, the operating system -- supposedly -- should mount a disc without a driver for the card reader. In practice, this sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

My suggestion: if you know what kind of card you will have to read (Compact Flash, Smartmedia, etc.), get a reader specifically for that card type. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
Purchased the Sony Card Reader because it looked more portable. Went home and found out that I had to install drivers just to read my memory stick. I don't want to install anything when I'm using several computers, especially when I'm using the office computers. I had read somewhere that the SanDisk doesn't require installing drivers. Took the Sony back to Circuit City, paid $19.86, and got the SanDisk. The SanDisk was only $13.50 and it works like a charm. The cord is made with sturdier material. It is a bit larger than the Sony but it still fits in my notebook case with ease. I'm loving it!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Memory Stick reader you can buy
When I got my Sony Cyber-Shot, inside the box was a SONY catalog with a Memory Stick reader for $59, I found these one at amazon for less than $20, and I'm very happy with it because is a real Plug and Play product, doesn't need any driver, works with my USB 2.0 and read MS & MS Pro as many other kinds of memory chips, I't very compact, light and lot better looking that the white Sony reader, so get it arms wide open.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad!
I happened to place the order before reading all the negative feedback: so got worried after reading'em.
However, my experience so far (15 days) is positive:
    Pros:
    1) good build quality
    2) auto on-off for the head phones
    3) charging stops automatically (the green LED goes off)
    4) decent Range: not exactly 150 ft, but 50 ft is what I would say, with walls in between. Beyond that, noise increased, but still it was ok.
[I am using with noise filtered turned off!]
    5) good acoustics (compared to price)
    Cons
1)Charging position (not a major one, IMHO)
    2)proprietary batteries !
3)short cord to connect the base to audio source

1-0 out of 5 stars Worthless
You basically can't tune in a clear signal, tons of background noise and sputtering.Worthless.An Xmas gift, so at least I didn't spend any money on them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as others say
Wife and I each received a pair of these for Christmas. We use them mostly for watching TV and movies at night when the little one is in bed. The tuning takes a bit of patience, but once I had them dialed in, they work great. The output from the TV is very high, and seems to help eliminate any static or interference. (There's a mention in the instructions about turning the volume on the source up high, I think this is missed by many users.)

I can walk around the house (even the basement) and listen to music or the TV with only an occasional crackle at the far end of the house. Battery life seems good, and the charging cradle is a great idea. It takes a bit of attention to make sure the headset "latches" onto the base properly, or it won't charge. Oddly enough they seem lighter than you would expect based on the size.Sound quality is quite good, considering there are no headphones I've ever heard of that produce bass you can FEEL.

I'm not sure why there are so many poor reviews of these units.. it may be intereference, or the output level, or possibly, Sony updated the design to improve reception and reduce noise.

1-0 out of 5 stars As they say, they're bad.
All the negative reviews are correct. Why I did not check Amazon before I bought them in a shop I'll never know. I'm stuck with these headphones that are pretty much useless. For one they ruin the enjoyment of music because of all the static. You maybe sitting only a couple of feet away from the transmitter but turn your head this or that way and it's all over. I cannot get a good clean clear signal. I can't believe how bad the wireless technology is with this product. Forget walking about the house with these. I can't get a good signal when I'm sitting next to the transmitter! No matter at what volume I have the things set at it's just not acceptable to be hearing all pops, static and hiss.
Also if no audio signal is detected after a few minutes they'll turn off - when this happens you'll be blasted with a wall of loud static white noise. Not good.
As a side note it's a real fiddle to get the things back into the cradle and lined up so they'll charge. Yuck. Avoid at all costs.

2-0 out of 5 stars not there yet...
I wanted headphones to use with my guitar amp. and home theater system at home.I was reluctant to try wireless systems because I had negative experiences before, but then I thought hey, wireless headphones have been around long enough to achieve the level of sophistication. Well I was wrong. There is no way to totally eliminate the noise in these headphones, even so close to the transmitter. (I made several tests, making sure no object was interfering) .The slightest noise in headphones is enough to bother users, so wireless headphones is an area that requires absolute perfection. Bottom line, this set does not provide that. I'm wondering if bluetooth or higher frequencies have resolved the issue, but yet they're expensive. For now, I will extend my wired headphone cord.

Another problem is placing the headphone on the charger, it requires some attention and skills... ... Read more
