5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Great
I bought this card for our honeymoon in Hawaii. It worked perfectly. All the pictures came out vivid and beautiful.I couldn't have been happier with this memory card!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Quite good.
I picked up this card for my Garmin Ique 3600 GPS/PDA as I was told a fast speed card would help.I'm no expert, but I haven't experienced and problems with the card.It is reliable and speedy.

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Lexar Media 256MB SD Card SD256-231, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Never recieved it
I ordered it for $59.99, even paid for the expedited service, but two days later it was canceled. Not sure why. After reading another review it seems the price was incorrect.I thought it was too good to be true!

I have not a clue on its performance. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Human Playback Glitchy At Times
For the price, the product is very good; however, the main reason I bought it was due to its Human Playback feature, which for the most part works very well but occasionally "wobbles" or makes "static"-like noises. The HP.dll file was updated in the Finale 2005 product, but this update-file is not compatible with PrintMusic! 2004.I'm still awaiting word from customer support regarding any possible HP.dll updates for PrintMusic! 2004.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product for "click" entry!
For the price you pay, you really get an outstanding program.Upon getting it, I dove straight into the most complicated stuff I could possibly think of composing, and it assisted me through it all beautifully and simply.(I had no need for the scanning or MIDI features, so I have no comment on those - the "click" entry is that of which I speak.)Once you devote a little time and figure out how it works, you'll have no problem with it.(A book over a hundred pages in length accompanies the program). This product is perfect for any non-professional composer who is looking for a sound program whose price isn't outrageous.

3-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't live up to its description
The manufacturer's description of this software reprinted on amazon's website and on the software box states that one of its key features is that you can "Scan sheet music for transposing or rearranging."I bought the software based in large part on this representation.I realized there was a potential problem when I found that the manual that comes with the program has nothing on scanning.I then followed the "help" suggestions contained on the disk to scan a page of a perfectly legible printed part in 6/8 meter.I ended up with a part in 4/4 that added rests and dotted notes to make up the difference in the time signature. The scanning software also changed the key signature arbitrarily at various points, left out whole measures and changed others. When I tried to convert the scan into 6/8, it added even more wrong data.I tried calling the "free" telephone support, which is a long distance call. They weren't able to help over the phone, and offered to try to work with the file by email.Ultimately they told me that only their professional software would properly convert a scan of this music.I told them that this appears to be a serious bug -- how can you represent that your software scans music, when it turns every 6/8 part into a 4/4 part and you end up having to edit virtually every measure?I haven't gotten any response. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great card!
This card is so fast.I have never had a proublem with any Lexar product.A+ in my book.

2-0 out of 5 stars It works but not as you would presume it should !!!
There is no problem with the card or capacity. But when I compare my results with Lexar 12X card, there is NO difference in the time it takes to store the image ( once you click the camera ) !!!. Yes, restoring images from the card to computer is very fast compared to my 12x card. But while snapping photos there is no difference in speed. This could be because of the camera or some other reason...but my main reason to buy a 40x card was to snap photos as fast as possible.

By the way I am using this card in Nikon 5700 camera. Make sure that your camera supports the Write Acceleration Technology. he CF card will work, **BUT** there was no increase in speed over other cards. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SD Card
I recently bought an EP SDcard, and I like it very much. The price on these is better than the other manufactures and the quality is the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thumbs up.
Just bought one of these, and it works fine. I need to buy another one, and I think I'll try these guys again.

To the guy who said "stick to brands you know". Almost all SD cards come from the same 4 or 5 manufactures smart guy. The one I got is a Toshiba card. You're just throwing your money away on brand names.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must have for Digital Camera Users
If you use a digital camera with added memory, this is what you need from the beginning. It works like it is supposed to right out of the package/box but I am dismayed with what seems like a few very flimsy components--lightweight plastic.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great buy for clie and digital camera owners
I have a Sony Clie (memory stick) and a Minolta Dimage camera (secure digital). With this little buddy I can transfer files from both devices faster and save battery, and can even use the cards and the Lexar Jumpdrive trio as a USB memory when not in use in the camera or the clie. I think it's probably one of the best buys I have ever done. Only cons: cap is off so easily and plastic feels a little fragile.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very useful, but the cap...
I love using this drive due to it's upgradeability, but the cap comes off very easily. I recently lost the cap. If Lexar made a version with stronger plastic and a cap that is more secure, then the card would get five stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars I don't want to live without it!
I love this little tool! It is so fast to transfer data from one computer to another with no wasting of disks or CD burningtime. The biggest plus is tranferring pictures from my camera to someone else's computer - instantly! I'm getting one for all my adult children for Christmas! And I'm getting a new one for ME - I left it in a hotel room on vacation, and I have been MISERABLE without it. A good buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Faster Than Your Digital Camera
This drive operates with USB 2.0 which means it's probably faster than your camera.USB 2.0 is 40 times faster than USB 1.1!When I have a full memory card I will slap it into the Lexar Media Jumpdrive and plug it into my computer to download my pictures even faster. This device also comes in handy as a second docking station for at work or a friends house. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Card at a Bargain Price
[...] I have two of these memory cards now, and I just love their performance.I use the cards for my Panasonic digital camera, and I have filled one card with over 700 pictures with absolutely no problems whatsoever.I haven't experienced any of the speed problems that other reviewers say they have, and the claim that the card is made by Toshiba is completely factless and ridiculous. There is no better value for the money on the market right now, and reading and writing on this card for me has been very fast.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect companion to my T3
I'm using it for about 6 months with Palm Tungsten T3 and had no problems. It is much faster than my previous Sandisk 256 Mb. Unlike other users I did not experince any speed problem for both reading and writing and recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect
I read other reviews of this SD card and they werent to great.I was planning on buying the Sandisk card, but every store is sold out so I went with this. Its perfect!Nothing has gone wrong yet.Im using it in a Kodak 6.1 mp camera and it works great for me.Takes no time at all to save or delete photos! Its a great card, just sorry some people are having trouble with it.

2-0 out of 5 stars A lame duck card
I purchased the 1gb Lexar card, and 5 hours after I started using it, I've got corrupted data that no amount of formating or data deletion will remedy.Given that I had already disceted the box into small pieces to send in for mail in rebates, I contacted Lexar and sent it to them on a Warrenty claim [cheaper then driving back to the retail location I purchased it at anyway].

I got it back yesterday, and it was suffering the same problem I sent it in for in the first place!

Their solution, they pay for the return shipping of card #2, and swap it out for two 512mb cards.

Not happy. But at least they are somewhat responsive to fixing the problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars So far so good!
It's working great with my Navman iCN 510 GPS (which btw is an incredible GPS system!)No problem, fast access and fast download of the maps.Read some people taking forever to download maps, so was surprised to find that it took fraction of the time for me.Don't know if it was the card or the PC which determines the speed, but it took me about 45 minutes to download about 600MB worth of map onto my Lexar. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great performance, mediocre design
I got this media reader for $15, since I had a couple of 1GB SD cards for my digital camera, and I figured it'd be worth it to check it out for that amount, rather than spending $70-80 on a 1GB USB flash drive.

The media reader has a slide-and-flip-top compartment where you insert your Memory Stick/Pro, SD, xD, or MMC cards. It obviously has to be large enough to accomodate the largest of the aforementioned cards--if it were for only SD cards, they could've easily shortened the length by 25%.

On my Win2K system, the reader (with a SD card in it) got detected right away as a removable drive, without any user intervention or driver installation. With a basic SanDisk (blue) 1GB SD card, via USB2.0 port, I was able to achieve a download throughput of 6.5-7.5MB per second. In every other respect, it works just like any other USB flash drive.

The physical size of the reader is about twice as wide AND thick as a SanDisk Cruzer drive.Or as thick as a Zippo lighter and twice as wide. You get the idea. There is no keyring hole built into the shell, nor does it provide for carrying strap like the Cruzers. You simply just pocket it and go.The plastic used for the shell feels brittle and flimsy and door mechanism for the memory cards feels less than sturdy (metal pins under plastic hinges).

For $15, I think this is a great gadget, especially if you have a number of memory cards that are not required in your digital cameras all day long. What would've made it even better (5 stars), in my humble opinion, is some sort of provision to carry it around your neck or attached to the keyring.A minor detraction, to be sure: The reader part of it works flawlessly as advertised. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars good sound, uncomfortable after 2 hours
The sound is extremely adequate for the non-professional.I find it excellent. The long cord is very nice. The headphones do not fold up in any useful way ("folding design" is really an exaggeration) and hence are not suited to being carried around. The major drawback is that these headphones are insanely uncomfortable to wear for more than 1-3 hours at a time. There is no way to adjust them to be more comfortable. It's a serious problem.

2-0 out of 5 stars CPC: Cheap plastic crap
I'm wearing my headphones now listening to music on my laptop, which is good. The bad news is that my right earpiece is attached with shoe-goo because it broke and there was not enough surface area to just glue the stem piece. That is to say, the whole earpiece is glued solid to its bracket so it doesn't move. The over-the-head thing is taped together with packaging tap because it, too, broke when I put the things on my rather large head. They sound fine and all, but I could make a more durable headphone set out of balsa wood.Do not consider these things portable unless your bodyguard is willing to carry them in a padded suitcase.

Maybe I should just glue to the earpieces to my head.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the effort
Sony has let me down yet again with these muddy sounding headphones. I've been doing studio recording for quite some time now and I needed a set of headphones to replace the jensens that I've been using for the past 3-4 years (background: I bought the jensen "PC" headphones new off the net for $12 us. and they have clear, bright sound, a little low on the bottom end but well worth the money. They're only now starting to wear out after regular use for extented periods of time). I've tried the sony phones with various setups: analog recorder, digital amp, cd walkman, mini stereo system, pc and the jensens always outshined them. I also got a couple of other opinions that thought the same thing: the sony phones are too bassy. Maybe rap and r&b fans are the crowd sony is targeting. Either way for $40-50, these headphones were lousy. Also, they weren't all that comfortable either...a little too snug for my liking.

5-0 out of 5 stars great deal - great sounds
use with
ipod - mac g4 pb - powermac g5 - Creative GigaWorks S750 - recording setup

It sounds brillant for so a cheap setup.Highly recommend it!

The only issue i have it is not compact and sometimes the wire gets in the way.Besides that it rules...

2-0 out of 5 stars Totally Disappointed
These headphones have nothing but boomy bass. Highly imbalanced sound. I am sort of an audiophile, but when i bought a $35 headphones, i did not expect the moon and the stars. Sad to say i was let down. the basic headphones that came with my discman sound clearer than these.

Tried them out with my Dell Laptop, Sony Discman and Harman Kardon amp. Bad performance in every case. Allowed 20 hours of break in, still only slight difference. They sound as if the music is lost somewhere within and all you hear are muffled thuds. This is not at all expected from a respected brand like Sony. I would give a total thumbs down to this product.

If all you want to hear is boom and dont care about clarity or balance in sound then maybe this is for you, else stay away. I am returning mine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones
Yes, the price is a bit high, but these are high quality headphones. The single line out the left ear is the best and reduces any chance of catching or tangles. The sound is unbelievable, best from any headphones I own.I use them with my DJ MP3 player for great sound quality from high quality MP3s.

As for comfort, I can see why people don't like them, but I use them in the gym and for my ears, they fit nicely with little to no discomfort, depending on how they are sitting on your head.

If your like me and can't wear ear buds cause they fall out, these are a great alternative for high quality audio.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones For Running
i bought these several months ago, and i have nothing but good things to report: these headphones are sturdy, waterproof (and sweatproof!), and have that nifty reflective patch on both ear pieces. they never slip off my head, and i find the sound quality is surprisingly good. with some adjusting here and there, i can manage to wear squash glasses or sunglasses with these, though having all that stuff behind my ears is the not the best case scenario. basically, these headphones turned out to be much higher quality than i was expecting. great product!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best headphones
I love these headphones so much that I've bought two pairs so far and I'll probably buy my third pair after my second wears out. I've been wearing this style of headphones for so long that I can't imagine wearing anything else! The sound quality is excellent, even when they're falling apart- I wore my first pair so long that they did begin to fall apart! I only bought my second pair because I felt like my first pair was getting old. I don't bring them around with me anymore, but they still work excellently at home!

These headphones are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn- I've even slept in them multiple times without any problems. It's amazing how much abuse they can take and still work, after years of being twisted and crammed into bags and ripped (the ear foam part)!

After owning two pairs of these, I can safely say that if you decide on these headphones, you will be satisfied.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worthless
I was hoping to be able to move without cords.WHat I got was worse than any cord.

The amount of background noise/whine is horrible.Even with every other electrical system in the house turned off, and the main shut down, they still whine and hiss. The player and the phones were on a filtered battery back-up.

The "auto-on" switch is cute, but due to the bad design, you cannot adjust the headphones to fit.

As far as 150', HA.Could barely get 75'.

All in all you would be better off with a couple of cans and some string.

2-0 out of 5 stars Love/Hate Relationship
While looking for a new set of wireless headphones, I was dreaming of baking Christmas cookies while listening to Christmas music and this would require walking to the kitchen and leaving the stereo in the bedroom. It seemed these headphones would work since the distance is relatively short and other headphones have worked so well I could even walk outside.

"Transmission up to 150 feet" did not work for me. I walk out of the bedroom and the headphones start to hiss. In fact, it is very difficult to get these to work on a consistent basis and the stand design is annoying. When you set the headphones back on the stand, it takes a minute to get the silly headphones aligned for recharging. You can keep working at it until the green indicator light appears, but more than likely, you will
have to hold the transmitter at eye level and adjust it accordingly.

There is an "automatic tuning" button on the headphones so you can "try" to get the best reception of a signal. This has not always been overly fun because you have to keep pushing the button for what seems like minutes. They should have used a dial-style control because then you could quickly get reception. The automatic feature seems like more of a hassle than a help. The transmitter has a noise filter on/off switch and a channel selector that has three options. Once I played around with the channels I had better luck with reception while watching movies.

The automatic "on/off" feature on the headphones is supposed to preserve battery life, but I can't see why they could not allow you to turn off the headphones yourself.

So, now that I've told you all the disadvantages, this does seem to have a few major advantages. Unlike other headphones, I actually could use these while on my treadmill. Once I adjusted them properly, they seemed to work OK for watching movies.

The main thing I noted with these headphones is that the transmitter has to be in the same room as the headphones. So, if I want to listen to CDs I have to listen to them through the DVD player in the living room or have to stay in the bedroom with the stereo.

The headphones don't grip as tightly as I'd like and if you are exercising, they can fall off if you bend over and touch your toes, etc. The headphones are very comfortable and I'd say I have a love/hate relationship with these headphones.

Hissing is never tolerable and the earmuff review made me laugh because it might just be true. Overall, these are the most frustrating wireless headphones I've ever used. While my last headphones finally broke, I'm thinking of buying RCA WHP150C Wireless Headphones again and they are about 20 dollars less. With the RCA headphones, you can walk 125 feet away from the transmitter and still hear music. In fact, I just added them to my shopping cart and will be ordering the RCA headphones again because I love music too much to deal with hissing. Such a pity, these are very comfortable. I can use them with my stereo in the bedroom, but the RCA headphones work better when walking through the house or going outdoors. So, on the bright side, I'll have two headphones and won't have to move one from room to room. Always willing to try to look on the bright side. Sigh...

3-0 out of 5 stars Just mediocre
Pros - good fit and easy on your ears. I like the auto on/off feature and have not had a problem putting the units back on the charging stand.
Cons - these phones are only good for short distances (less than 12 feet) and the futher you are away the more background noise you get. If this is how all wireless headphones are I won't be buying anymore for a long time !

2-0 out of 5 stars More than 4 feet away? Forget it.
I purchased the Sony MDR-RF960RK Wireless headphones from Amazon about 4 months ago, with the intention of using them in conjunction with my home theater system.

I knew from the reviews what the limitations of the MDR-RF960RKs were -- good for TV, DVD and spoken word/broadcast; not so great for music. No problem -- TiVo was going to be the main source.

What I didn't know was how extremely poor these headphones were at receiving a signal past 4-5 feet. When sitting on the coach, listening via the headphones, with a CLEAR line of sight between me and the transmitter, I'd have constant static and crackle in the background -- often obscuring what I was trying to listen to.

After 1 hours worth of use, the problem would start to become acute; I assume the batteries in the phones would weaken, and the reception would thus become even worse.

I tried all the tricks that the Amazon.com commentators and the manual suggested -- different channel, noise reduction system on, turning the input signal on extremely high and then turning the volume down on the 'phones. No dice -- trying to watch anything over an hour would cause the static to be so severe that I couldn't concentrate on what I was listening to.

I used them for about 2 months, and then finally gave up, and decided to switch to the headphones many of the reviews had recommended in the first place -- the Sennheiser RS-65 wireless headphones. The Sennheiser are more expensive (though not by much, surprisingly -- I was fortunate to buy them when Amazon had them on sale), but they are WORTH it -- NO background noise, even with music; and I can literally walk around the entire basement without *any* static whatsoever.

I have found a use for the Sony headphones -- I've put them in my office at work, where the transmitter is no more than a foot from my chair, and use them to listen to MP3s and internet radio over my work PC.They're comfortable phones, easy to use and fairly good sound quality at this distance. And it's pleasent not to get tripped by wires when I'm moving my chair around. And the 1 hour restriction seems to affect them less at this close range.

But with the restriction of distance, I don't think they're worth the price -- unless you plan to use these strictly in close quarters.

1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk
These headphones are the worst piece of audio equipment I've experienced. As an avid audiophile, I can honestly state this is one of the worst of my investments in audio gear. Problems:
1. Cheap construction.
2. Very difficult to keep the signal tuned in when you move your head or lean down.
3. Bass response is excellent. The highs are very tinny.
4. Cannot get rid of the hiss no matter how much you change channels. Very annoying!
5. The volume control wheel and channel tuning button are difficult to locate when the phones are on your head.
6. No adjustment for the head strap. The phones fit very loose unless you have a super large head.
I'm going back to my corded set until I find something better. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy These When You Can Make Them For Cheap!!
You can make these by hacking up a cheap pair of earplugs from your local sporting goods store. This is the description/review I have posted elsewhere describing the process (initially posted for the E2Cs):

I love these headphones. They sound great, they have great isolation, and they are very durable.BUT, I had almost resigned myself to an unneccessarily painful fit:I have normal sized ears, but I couldn't get either the smallest plastic or foam inserts to be comfortable for more than an hour before I felt like my ears were going to bleed from the outward pressure of these buds . . . until I had a thought: "Why doesn't Shure sell these phones with the small-ish inserts like Etymotics uses.

I had remembered the earplugs that I had used to take all of my biggest exams with, so I went down to my local sporting goods store, browsed the hunting and shooting section and found $2 rubber earplugs with three "fins" on them like the Etymotics. These plugs are hollow, so all you have to do is carefully cut a small hole on the end, cut off the bulk of the back of them (the opposite end of what you put in your ear), stick them on the bare tubes of the Shures, and eureka! My EC2s fit perfectly and sooooo much more comfortably.

I have since learned that Shure sells inserts like these for an extortive price, but why buy when you can make them for 1/5 the price.I reccommend buying 2 or 3 pairs of the earplugs your first go-around, just in case you butcher the first pair like I did.

2-0 out of 5 stars Better seal, less comfort
As nice as the E3c's are, how they sound is highly dependent on the seal you get. The triple-flange sleeves are designed to get you a better seal in your ear, and they do accomplish that (in comparison with the other plastic sleeves originally included with the earphones).

Nevertheless, these sleeves have a big drawback: they're extremely uncomfortable. They are very long and often feel like they're putting pressure on my inner ear, pressure that extends almost into the throat area. If I were to do it all over again, I would buy a pack of replacement foam sleeves instead. I believe you can get a 10-pair pack of the foam replacements for $20. The foam inserts are simply more comfortable (more like a soft earplug) and, if replaced often enough, create a seal with relative ease. ... Read more
