3-0 out of 5 stars PC Only!!!
Based on the reviews above, I purchased this to shuttle files between my Motorola V710 and Mac running OS 10.3.7.Despite many attempts to clean up/re-format the disk, and removing .DS_STORE files before returning the disk to my phone, I have yet to get it to work between the Mac and my phone. As soon as I put a file on the disk from my Mac, even in the appropriate folder followed by removing .DS_STORE files, the disk stops working, and blocks access to other files stored on the phone. The best I can do is format it on the phone, and use it for extra storage. So, if you want something to pass files between your Mac and phone, keep looking!

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have accessory for your mobile phone!
I am very pleased with this memory card. I was able to transfer movies, MP3's and pictures to my Motorola v710 effortlessly. You simply drag whatever you want on the phone onto the disk on your computer! With normal quality, you can store around 40 songs on your phone. Just make sure you have a memory card adapter that can read SD memory cards.

NOTE FOR MAC USERS: If you are using a computer with Mac OS X to transfer files be warned, the computer will create an invisible file in the memory card named ".DS_STORE" that, if not erased, will crash your phone. No permanent damage will be done, but you will be unable to access anything you put on your card. To delete the file, find a program that can see invisible files.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have!
I bought the SanDisk 128MB TransFlash because the storage space on my cool, new Motorola V710 from Verizon is sorta skimpy (...just 10MB).Now I have no problems storing all my photos, video clips, and MP3s.The TransFlash is really, really tiny.According to SanDisk, it's not meant to be handled regularly because the fairly soft casing is prone to damage if handled roughly.Remember to format the TransFlash first before using.Have fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Expanded storage for the Motorola V710
Recently I picked up the Motorola V710 (verizon) phone that is compatable with this memory card. The Transflash card used to be called T-Flash and was for some reason renamed. In the package an included transflash to SD memory adapter allows you to connect to a SD compatable memory reader for a PC through a USB 2.0 interface.

The first thing that struck me as amazing is the size of the transflash memory.120mb in a little device that I can barely keep hold of in two fingers. It tucks away neatly into the transflash memory port on the Motorola V710 unnoticed. This is one of the first phones to feature a built in 1.2 megapixel camera, mp3 player and video camera, so the need for expanded storage is a must.

I purchased a cheap SD memory reader and plugged the transflash card to the SD adapter and it immediately read as a removable storage drive on my Windows XP based computer. One problem I did have was files kept getting corrupted when I tried to read them on the phone.I fixed this by formatting the card (just like formatting a built in hard drive). Not sure if this was a problem of how the phone formatted the memory when it built all the default directories or if it was the reader or card itself. But the format fixed it with no further issues.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great portability, but can't compete w/ traditional karaoke
This "karaoke in a microphone" system is small and extremely portable. You can carry it from party to party. Just hook it to a TV or better yet - a music sound system home theater and you are ready to sing with your friends. The sound quality is acceptabe, but not great, as noise could clearly be heard behind the music background.

The music reproduction of this system is not close to the original version of your favorite songs. Traditional karaoke has two major modes: listening (allow you to hear the song with the demonstration singer(s)'s vocal to familiarize yourself with the song) and the singing mode (with music only or music and back up singers' vocal so that you can sing as a lead singer). This portable karaoke system, however, only has one mode which is the singing mode. Therefore, you must be familiar with the songs in order to sing them. Even in this singing mode, you will not get back-up singer's vocal. So if the original version of your favorite song has back up vocal (voices of people that sing on the background to assist the main singer in bringing the songs to climax or adding harmony to the songs. e.g music of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Marc Anthony) or if the original version is a duet or group performance (Barbara Streisand and Bryan Adams duet; Nsync; All for One, Boys2Men, Backstreet Boys), you will not be able to sing by yourself. If you do, your "production" will sound really flat or lose its flavor as there's no back up vocal to "sing" along with you.

One good thing about this system is that you can adjust the music volume, microphone volume, the melody presence, and the pitch (high/low music tones/notes). Pitch adjustment is a great feature of karaoke.

You can add up to four additional song/music cartridges into this microphone; however, be sure to test the compatibility as this microphone may not work with some music cartridges, e.g. Alternative Rock Vol 2 due to manufacturing defect with some units. Many of the songs cannot play.

You can add a second (wireless) microphone although the sound of this extended mic is not great.

One excellent feature of this system is it can grade your perfomance although the grading sometimes is not accurate (it gives you high scores although you don't sing close to the original version and make many mistakes). If you have a group of friends, this scoring feature will allow you and your friends to enter into a fun karaoke competition.

If you are looking for an affordable portable karaoke system so that you can have good time with a bunch of friends, this is it. If you are looking for a karaoke system that makes you feel like an artist or gets you ready for the next season of American Idol, this is not the one. IF you are looking for a karaoke system so that you can sing at home just by yourself , this may not be the one. If you listen to radio a lot and are very familiar with the songs, then you can sing with this karaoke system. If you hear a song only once or twice - you like the song and want to try singing the song with this microphone, I don't think you can make it

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun for a great price.
The last review says, quote "Great portability but can't compete with traditional karaoke" and gives it 2 stars? What a joke. Of course it can't compare to traditional karaoke system, that's because the Leadsinger costs UNDER $120, as opposed to a "traditional karaoke" machine tha cost $400+ min! "sigh"
Anyways, my experience with Leadsinger is pretty positive. I bought the unit for my girlfriend, who is a karaoke junkie. Now we fight over whos turn it is to sing.
She had a older karaoke machine that just can't compare with the Leadsinger. Why?
Portability: The system can easily fit in a small bag that allows us to take it to friends, to parties, everywhere. Her old system was a five pound boom box that was cumbersome to transport.
Songs: The only negative thing that I noticed was that all of the guitar parts are played with a cheesy keyboard. As a guitar player, listening to the Eddie Van Halen solo on Micheal Jackson's 'Beat It' on a goofy keyboard is pretty dreadful. But friends have told me that replacing the guitar with a keyboard is pretty standard for karaoke. Other then that, the songs are pretty decent. My favorites are the Beatles, Elvis, and Queen. A friend bought his Leadsinger in the Phillipenes and his came with Radiohead's Creep & Cures Boy's Don't Cry which would have been nice to have on this version, but they aren't.
Adding songs: I have not bought the chip with additional songs yet(hopefully there will be no trouble with adding the chip), but just the idea of getting 100 or 150 additional songs for $50 or so it exciting. My girlfriends older karaoke system charged $15 for a cd with 12 or so songs. Having to switch cds that contain only 10 songs would get old really quickly.
The bottom line is, if you are looking for an inexpensive karaoke system to practice at home with (before hitting the 'traditional' karaoke bar), to take to parties, or to just sit around the house with friends, drinks, and fun, this is a great system with a fun factor of 5+. (Hopefully it wont crash on me tomorrow!)
Is it good for children? I think it would be. None of the 'older'songs are offensive, and it seems to have plenty of childrens songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and your kid will be the first (or should be) on his block to be belting out the Beatles 'Yesterday' or Queens 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mike
I think this prouduct is great if your having a little party and feel like a little karoke all you have to do is go over and
get it. Plus that this is a great price I have seen them just like this for well over $400 yep.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad memory chip or bad mic?
I purchased the Leadsinger 3700 along with the 80's pop rock and the Teens 2003 musikartridge's.It all worked nicely until trying to access the songs on the Teens 2003 chip. The titles of all the songs would show on the screen but when pressing play, the unit would either turn off or it just wouldn't work.I tried relocating the chip into the other memory slots and the same problem occured.Since I had no problems with the other music chip or the built in songs, I concluded that the Teens 2003 chip was just a bad one. After exchanging the chip for another one, I had the exact same problems. This time I'm returning everything. It's not worth the hassle.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Karaoke System for those not ready to spend $500+ on b
Pros: Complete Karaoke system (from Korea) that is affordable and easy to use, comes with 300 free songs and 4 expansion slots so you can add more songs. Many song chips available. You can speed up or slow down the song's music, keep score of your singing progress and compete with other singers. Excellent wireless submicrophone for duet singing. [...], got it for less than $108 and $52 for the wireless submicrophone. Great customer service [...]. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cons: Volume on main microphone could be better, should be as good as that of the wireless one. Will need to play with the main mic, echo and music volume controls to get best sound. I don't like too much echo, so I take most of it off, keep the main mic volume on highest volume and lower the music volume so the mic's volume is nice and loud. Song chips can be very expensive. The Leadsinger LS-3700 song chips with 100, 150 or 200 songs can cost from $50 to $90 each. There are other complete karaoke microphone systems (best ones from Koritech and Entertech) for $400 or $500 that come with thousands of songs. Couldn't find a complete set with main mic, wireless mic and song chips. A free carry/storage bag would have been nice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars belkin cable worked for me
priced right and worked flawlessly, i recommend this item for home networking and will use again in the future.

2-0 out of 5 stars DECEPTION
Yeah sure this cable does what it's supposed to. And it's only 12.99. Yeah right that's before the 8.00 shipping and handling you pay Tiger direct. BS

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good Ethernet Cable
I needed a cable to go across my house, and this one did that job fine. I was really afraid I would have to pay a lot of money for a 50' cable, but this cable proved me wrong. It is not expensive(...). The snagless connectors were very useful when I was dragging the wire under my floors (though some tape probably could have done the job). I have not noticed any loss in performance because of this cable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what it shoould
Its a good price for a 50' cable and it is functional. For an ethernet cord thats about all you can say.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pre made cables versus a big roll
I bought these Belkin cables. They are very nice quality. They seem heftier than a lot of the other cables. My system analyst neighbor mentioned that he prefers to buy the 1000 foot roll. He runs them to wall outlets, then uses the 7 foot or 14 foot snap in cable from the wall to the PC. That way, you don't have to buy a 40 dollar crimping tool.
You can't solder these cables. They require a metal to metal contact, and lead-solder doesn't qualify. Also, it is critical to keep them spiraled, all the way up to the end. Even when attaching, instructions call for twisting them right up to the connection.
Since the tech instructions, tell you to keep them down to under 350 feet, these cables, whether they are long or short, are in the right lengths.
I know Amazon doesn't print prices in their reviews, but they have the local major chain office supply stores beat hands down. The 50 foot roll was half again as much locally.
These are the Category 5e cables. They give you a better return feed, which results in better overall performance. So insist on 5e instead of just 5. I initially bought some wall plates from Radio Shack that were Category 3, then I returned those for the snap in option Category 5. Those were returned also, when I went to Home Depot (of all places to go networking) and they had the complete Leviton line of 5e accessories.
If I had to do it over again, I would still buy the Belkin 50 footers. I don't want to have a 500 foot roll of ethernet cable hanging around.
These are tops. Gold plated connectors, Snag free ends, that protect that little lock in tab on the ends. You know the frustration of unsnarling a phone wire, out of a wiring mess, and the little tab bends over backwards, never to work properly again. Well Belkin built twin arches over the sides to prevent just that. Way to go. Highly recommended, good stuff, for a good price. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good except...
This mini SD card worked fine in my Audiovox SMT5600 as well as using it with the adapter in my Motorola MPx200.My Printer was able to read the card and scan to it (w/adapter) and I could also use it just fine as a removeable media format on XP.The only problem I encountered was when using the mini SD was when using the adapter and trying to increase the storage of my flash based MP3 player. For some reason Windows Media Player said that the disk was invalid. So I'm not sure if that was a WMP, MP3 or SD card thing but all in all it works pretty well. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great card, but slow write speed
I've been using this card with my Canon S400 for the past 9 months and am very pleased with it.However, about a month ago, I noticed that the write speed increased from about a second to three-four seconds per image. It's kind of annoying since it was so quick before, but other than that, the card has served me well!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good value, but watch out for compatibility
Unlike Lexar or Sandisk, Viking does not design or make the components that go into their flash memory cards, instead they use off-the-shelf components (controller and memory core) made by others. This means two things: 1) lower cost (to Viking), and 2) compatibility with devices may not be as robust as Lexar or Sandisk. There have been numerous reports about incompatibility between Viking flash memory and various digital cameras and PDAs.You should do a web search before buying this product.

That said, this Viking CF card should work in most digital cameras or older Pocket PCs that take CF.The rated speed of 8x means this is not suitable for digital SLR's such as the Nikon D70 or Canon EOS Digital Rebel which need higher-speed CF cards (40x or higher). Most consumer, non-SLR digital cameras will find the speed of this card more than adequate.128MB holds about 80-100 5MP, high-quality pictures (depending on the complexity of each picture and the particular camera model).I personally recommend if you have a 4MP or more camera, you should have a 256MB memory card as your primary card, while carrying a 128MB card like this Viking as a spare.

In short, this Viking 128MB CF card is good for the money.Just make sure it's compatible with your digital camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Viking vs. Sandisk
First I bought a sandisk and after a month of use got damaged, I tryed to comunicate with them a lot, they have the worst customer service, then i gave up. then i bought this Viking like a year ago, and im still using it.

1-0 out of 5 stars They denied the rebate request, what a rip-off!
Your rebate submission has been received.
Unfortunately your rebate is denied for the following reasons:
REQUEST POSTMARKED AFTER CLOSE OF PROGRAM DEADLINE
REQUIRED POSTMARK BEFORE 09/10/04; ACTUAL POSTMARK 09/13/04
***********************************************

There was absolutely no cut-off submission deadline given, except the purchase by date and submit within a certain time after receiving purchase.
All were followed to the "T".

I submitted the rebate immediately after I received the merchandise from Amazon.

Give me a break, I'll never touch another thing from viking except with a 10' pole.

If it was not so piddling an amount, this would be worth reporting to FCC, but the state of customer protection in this country make you jump through even more hoops, probably for nothing, more heartache.
Just forego rebates, send Viking back to the boat and purchase another brand.

3-0 out of 5 stars You May Not See Your Rebate
So far, the only way I have been able to obtain my rebate is to pester the rebate company for months until they finally decide I am not going to give up until I get my rebate. Not worht it. The company uses a web site called "wheresmyrebate" com. Do not trust them. Other than that, the card is excelent and I recomend the card, just not the company policies. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Update firmware
Anyone having any issues with these discs will most likely have a simple download from the manufacturer of the DVD burner to fix the problem. I did. I burned 3 bad ones to begin with. I figured there was a problem. I went to the DVD drive makers website, downloaded the firmware and since then i have burned over 1,400 of these exact same DVD's and had only 2 other coasters. They even honor their rebates. At least, with me they did. I have had trouble with FUJI, and MAXELL too often to mention. But, not with these. I have over a 99% success rate. Get to know your computer a little and get all updates for everything on your system. Most problems should be fixed by that. Hope I've shed some light. But, do be sure you are completely read up on your firmware before you install it. If you do it wrong, your drive could be messed up. But, when done right, it helps on all levels. HAPPY FLAG DAY!

5-0 out of 5 stars I'd just finished my spool of 100 ...
When I first ordered this last year I was skepical about the name brand for its burning speed, but since then I have no costers and everyone plays fine. I burn DVD's, pictures, Mpegs, zip files, you name it I stored it. when I go back for info or to play everyone works great. I'm waiting for their next sale/rebate.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not reliable
I am just about through a 100 disk spindle of these using a NEC 3250A drive.Unfortunately, I had already burned a great many of them before discovering that they just did not make it.When the drive finally burns at a true 8x (about the last 1/4), things just fall apart. No actual errors, but on playback all the problems show up, massive pixelation, pauses, skips. The only way to use these, for me, is to burn them at 6x.Might as well have saved some money and bought the 4x ones.

I found nothing but rather rave reviews on Newegg regarding these, but you look around everywhere else and people have much the same problem... they are unreliable at 8x speed.I also found out why the reviews on Newegg are good... they kick out the bad reviews... mine was rejected for no real reason other than it was negative.

So, from now on I pay a bit more and use true name brand media.I have NEVER had any problems with any of the major DVD media suppliers.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the time or money
Bought these Ridata discs a couple months back. The cheap price was attractive, but that's all I have to say about these disks.I probably get a good 25% of the discs burn correctly, while the remaining have piled up to an impressive coaster collection.Kinda frustrating whenever you're 10 minutes into burning, you get an error and the disc is ejected.I'd recommend a name brand like Memorex instead.Hardly had issues with them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Reliable
Similar to others here, about 3 months after burning, an entire spindle of Maxell branded RICOHJPN-R01-002 went bad. They all developed a visible ring about 1/3 through the disc, & are unreadable after the first 1/3 by all my players (Philips 727, Asus, & Pioneer 8) (oddly except a Cyberhome 500 which reads them fine). I will NEVER knowing by Ricoh again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The SanDisk 128MB Memory Stick, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best all purpose stick
I've got three of these and they work just as well as Sony's.I take pictures with my Sony on them but I use them instead of floppy disks.I put it in my reader at work, home, and at my mother's, and download programs from the internet directly to them, transfers files to them and use them the same way as floppys are use.I haven't used the floppy on any of the computers for the past year.Small as a stick of gum, can be packed in a wallet.Best item invented!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice product
I bought this product for use in my Sony Clie handheld computer. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Sony brand memory stick, and I am glad to say that this product has worked flawlessly over the past year.

I would buy a Sandisk product again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Question
Can someone please tell me the difference between Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro?

2-0 out of 5 stars Two star because....
I haven't used it yet!!! The plastic packaging is ridiculous, wasteful and HAZARDOUS as I just managed to cut myself trying to open it.Seriously, what a waste of resources.I can't imagine the energy and waste used just for the packaging. Why go through the effort of marketing and sitting around a conference room discussing how cool it would be to package a MEMORY STICK with razor sharp plastic with a neat colorful cardboard backround just so it can be thrown away to forever stay on the face of this earth to injure another person!!!? ah!! For a MEMORY STICK? Gimme a break!! ... Read more

Product Description

The ER-6 Isolator earphones provide outstanding sound quality and isolation in a lightweight, compact package. And at less than half the price of ER-4 earphones, they're an incredible value. Because these earphones were designed to match the acoustic response of the open ear, their response accuracy surpasses that of all other earphones and earbuds in their class. With their 15-20 dB of isolation, the ER-6's offer more external noise reduction than any other noise-reduction earphone. Why is isolation important? By blocking out ambient sounds, you can hear the full range of today's digital recordings without having to play them at unnaturally high and potentially unsafe levels. Since you don't have to boost the volume to overcome external noise, ear-overload distortion is minimized. The ER-6 Isolator earphone system includes: 5' cord with 3.5 mm stereo phone plug; 2 double-flanged silicone eartips; 2 foam eartips; 2 replacement filters; Filter-changing tool; Shirt clip; Pouch. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars ER6 vs. ER6i Earphones for Apple's iPod / Winner: ER6
After checking with the vendors that these headphones were returnable after being opened, I proceeded to test Etymotic Research's more economically accessible earphones - the ER6 and ER6i headphones - to more objectively make a comparison between the two.I compared their respective power usage, bass response, clarity, connection to the iPod, convenience, and sound isolation capabilities. The overall winner:ER6 Isolation Earphones. The report is below (*note this was not a scientific study but I did try to control whatever I could)

iPod Battery Life Winner: ER6i
The battery life of iPods isn't particularly great, and can be affected by a number of sources such as if EQ settings are on, if the iPod is on "hold", the song-encoded bit rate, whether or not the screen light is on, or in this case, what type of headphone is being used.I tested the battery life of the iPod using the ER6i and ER6 earphones by playing the "All Songs" function which plays every song in the library continuously until the power runs out.By starting it from the first song in the library using both earphones, I was able to factor out the bit rate in determining which earphone lasted longer.Of course, the earphones that lasted longer would be subjected to songs with bit rates that might have been much larger (say 824kbs using the Apple Lossless Encoder instead of the default 128kbs ACC encoder) or much smaller than the earphones that ran out quicker. Therefore, if the longer-lasting earphones hit a string of large bit-rate songs, the battery would run out faster than if there were lower encoded bit-rate songs. Therefore, the times that I will report should not be compared as absolute ratios.I kept the volume exactly the same for both trials and I never touched the screen so the light was never enabled. The results: the ER6 ran the battery out in 6hrs:23min while the ER6i ran it out in 9hrs.26mins. Winner: ER6i

Connection to the iPod Winner: ER6i
Because the ER6is were specifically designed for the iPod, the headphone jack connection was perfect and not as sensitive as the ER6 connection. When a headphone is disconnected from the iPod, it pauses the music automatically.Twisting the headphone jack while the iPod is in use has no effect when using the ER6i but the more tenuous connection established between the ER6 and the iPod renders the music to stop when doing this.(There is definitely some flexibility, but running with these or ascending stairs will continuously stop the music and become quite a nuisance.) Winner: ER6i

Bass Response Winner: TIE
Almost any criticism of these headphones in other product reviews always comes back to the bass response.Admittedly, for the price tag, I think the bass could be better on both models, but the major criticism of the iPod ALSO is bass response. In order to hear the bass response well, I set the iPod EQ setting to "R&B" which GREATLY enhances the bass with any headphone.I found that the ER6i lived up to its advertised enhanced bass response. However, the bass was much boomier and subsequently less accurate than that of the ER6s.In addition, the enhanced bass sacrificed mid and upper frequencies rendering a much more immature sound, and frankly, merely as impressive as my Sony Fontopia headphones that were $60 cheaper.Even though the ER6 bass response is a little thinner than that of the ER6i, it's HIGHLY accurate.I can hear each note with remarkable clarity exposing how succinct the notes truly were when they were recorded. For example, check out the beginning of Dave Matthew's Band "Crush"; you can hear his finger strike the string and the transition from each note to the other omitting that muddled "fake bass" that Sennheiser can produce.Any R&B song will really expose the accuracy. However, having that full bass response that the ER6i offers is an important basement for listening to music.Just for fun, I hooked up the ER6s to my Sony Discman and the bass was AMAZING, absolutely the BEST bass I've ever heard; highly accurate with some serious depth. Therefore, I'm convinced that the lack of bass with the ER6 is only a function of the iPod's notoriously thin low frequency output. Both earphones have something to offer; therefore they tie in this category, but I'm leaning towards the ER6.

Musical Clarity and Realism Winner: ER6
If you go to Etymotic's website you can see how they measure sonic response accuracy. The higher the accuracy score, the closer the earphone-produced sound is to live music. The ER6 is 90% accurate whereas the ER6i is 81% accurate and boy is this noticeably different. The ER6i doesn't have the same near-live sound that the ER6 can produce.High frequencies are fuzzier, substantially muted, and not as accurate rendering the ER6is incapable of producing the near-live musical experience of the ER6s.Singers' voices aren't as exposed, sounding more distant and washed out by the bass. The ER6s are just plain amazing in this category. You can hear the decay of each note as if you were standing in a concert hall (as long as the recording is high quality), and I have heard at least 5 to 10 seconds of additional sound at the beginning and ending of each song, especially during fade outs. It's also fun to hear musician's comments after the song, especially on Dave Matthews Band and Ben Folds Five/Ben Folds recordings.Cymbals are bright, crisp, and crystal clear; singers' enunciations are quite clear, trumpets sound fantastic, etc. - virtually any high frequency is the best I've ever heard. The mid-ranges are unbelievable as well and overall balance of sound is impeccable.I can hear layers of songs with the ER6s I didn't hear before. Therefore, the ER6 CLEARLY wins.

Noise Isolation Winner: TIE
When you spend over $100 dollars for earphones, you think that they better sound like they were a gift from God.For me, the reason that these earphones are this expensive is because the noise isolation is flat out incredible.I have tried the famous Bose Noise Canceling Headphones and both of the Etymotic Research earphones cancel sound BETTER (and they're HALF the price with MORE convenience i.e. not as bulky).Don't run, bike, or drive with these in your ears; you will die.I am a drummer and I've been using earplugs since I was 7, trying to find ways to completely isolate sound.Well these earphones do just that. When I walked down the street outside my apartment along a very busy road, I could not hear ANY ambient noise, literally (*the volume was half up).Along my walk I could not hear a backhoe dropping building rubble 15 feet away which I could usually hear from my apartment two blocks away! This feature alone makes these products complete steals in my mind. Winner: Tie, both World Class

Convenience Winner: ER6
By convenience I mean for removing and inserting them into your ear canals...The ER6is are smaller than the ER6s and are harder to grasp when pulling them out of your ears.I can quickly pull the ER6s out of my ears but it takes longer to inch the ER6is out of my ears.Winner: ER6

Overall Winner: ER6

Both of these products are WAY better than conventional headphones, but choosing between them will depend on your priorities.Do you want more bass and longer battery life with the ER6i?Or do you want clearer, more accurate bass with more convenience offered by the ER6s?Maybe you're a runner, and the thought of constantly adjusting the headphone jack sounds too cumbersome and distracting....go with the ER6is.Like in life, you have to sacrifice something to gain something with these headphones....unless you're Bill Gates in which case you could buy the premier ER4 model headphones which have the best of both worlds but require a second mortgage to purchase (list: $330!!!!!).For me, the clarity of a headphone determines its maturity and quality which really put the ER6 over the top even though it sucks in the iPod battery department.Any way you slice it, these headphones will improve sound, period. And the sound isolation is not hyped...it's real.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Earphones, but output is too low & Can't Return!!
I initally bought these for my ipod and I found the output level and bass response much too low my tastes. They sound very crisp and clear, but if you like your music loud like I do, don't get these. Also, keep in mind that J&R Music world, plus many other vendors, do not allow you to return these because of health reasons. These are 1/2 as loud as the stock ipod headphones. I managed to talk them into exchanging these for the etymotic 6i's because it wasn't mentioned in thier online return policy, but it was really difficult. The 6i's are MUCH MUCH better, and a highly recommend them (5 stars), because they are nice and loud and have amazing bass.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Value for Money
ER-6 gives great value for money.I got it through palm for $40 and its better than bose.Very good with portables and if u have a headphone amplifier it gives better output.Get something like m-audio transit for people listening through computer

5-0 out of 5 stars ER 6 EarphonesWOW!
First things first. So you will have the answer before you even ask the question:So what does "Etymotic" mean? The answer is that it is a term derived from the Greek word meaning "true to the ear".

Etymotic research has been producing numerous professional grade mic's and earphones for years, and believe me when I say that they know their stuff when it comes to audio.

Enter the age of the IPOD, and other various adaptations of the MP3 players.
The IPOD is now so ubiquitous that if you see anyone wearing white earphones, you immediately assume that they are listening to an IPOD.

As with any audio system, there are several important steps that everyone must take to insure quality output.Good quality original audio, good quality output amplification, and good quality speakers, or headphones. So with that in mind, I opted to test these earphones on my IPod, my stereo system, my computer, and my portable CD player.

I started out field testing the white 6i Isolator model. This model is designed to have a higher sensitivity, and profile compatibility with personal digital music players. It is also designed to produce a higher base response.

So out into the real world I trekked.I took them skiing, driving, and even through a strenuous 2 hour workout in the gym. Now, I know that it is not recommended to use these while driving, but I only did so while on some of Alaska's back roads.I wore these for hours, and hours, and even a few tumbles on the ski hill.I have yet to find anything about them that I do not like. They are very small, and extremely lightweight. And I am just thrilled about the fact that once inserted they stay put. They are not designed to produce a white noise to counter external noise, so I was not expecting that they would screen out external noises as gracefully as they did. They are designed to screen out external noises by blocking their entry in the ear canal. That is why they are designed like well fitting ear plugs, and not like a conventional "over the ears" headset.

I also tested them side by side with the Apple supplied ear buds, and feel that the truer sound is produced by the 6i Isolator .And since I have never been able to stop the Apple ear buds from falling out of my ears unless I was sitting perfectly motionless, I was delighted by how perfectly the 6i Isolator ear phones stayed put.I also tested these the 6i set against a pair of fairly inexpensive Sony over the earheadphones, and the difference was night and day.The 6i maintained a much truer tonal separation at both the high and low ranges, and the Sony's tended to give meslight headache after about an hour of constant wear.

On to the Black ER*6 Isolator model.
This model of the Etymotic designed earphones was designed for travel, and personal listening conditions. It has a very high noise isolation functionality, and is only second in sound accuracy to the Etymotic model ER*4 top of the line standard for studio musicians.

I street tested these as well under similar conditions to the way that I tested the 6i model.

Everyone knows that cars can be very noisy environments. Now imagine that you are having to drive a car on an Alaskan road complete with ruts, and potholes, and lots of left over road gravel scattered about just for reality. And added to all of that, try adding 4steel studded tires to the mix, and you can imagine what a racket that a normal commute can be.

And just to make sure that I was not fooling my hearing senses, I would stop, and put in the earphones, and drive for a few miles.I would then remove them, and drive a few miles.
Without any doubt, these ER*6 Isolator earphones are a true audio magictrick.
And like the 6i Isolator model, I found myself actually turning down the volume, and actually hearing the subtleties of lyrics, and instruments better than ever.

And wanting to really put these earphones to the acid test, I borrowed a nice pair of the top of the line noise reduction headphones(clue..they start with a B, and end with an E).
And I spent hours running them through my own series of noise tests.
And although unscientific in result, I determined that both of the Etymotic earphones were equal to better in noise reduction(or more accurately, noise elimination) than the name brand headset.I did prefer the larger , and smoother overall sound from the name brand headphones, but once again, it is somewhat like apples, and oranges when comparing the two products.

I am not an audiophile as such.I do not have $10,000 dollar speaker sets in my house, and spend all my spare time trying to record esotericblues records unto pop free archival DVD,s.I am, however, a total music lover, and my tastes run from classical to country and western, to African, and on, and on.So I tested out these ER*6 earphones by playing selections from a wide range of fairly diverse genre's.These earphones improved my listening pleasure with everything that I tried, including audio books.

In summary, my choice is the Etymotic 6i Isolator, but the ER 6 Isolator is a very close second place. And my reasons are simple, and direct. Both Etymotic earphones are small, require no batteries, and fit under a multitude of hats.Add to that the fact that they are comfortable, and can be worn for very long periods with out irritation of any sort. And finally, they sound absolutely wonderful, and cost less than half with Brand X costs.

If you like your tunes, you need these earphones..

The high quality earphones are all supplied with a standard 3.5mm(1/8") stereo plugs.
The earphones are supplied with a standard 5 foot cord.

Extra replacement filters, and foam eartips are available.

Each kit contains:Earphones with 5' cord and plug,1 pair of flanged eartips, 1 pair of foam eartips, 2 replacement filters, a filter changing tool, shirt clip, and a pouch.

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT (but use the alternate foam plugs)
Tough one to review... so many asterisks. I got these to replace the iPod earbuds. They were OK, but I got tired of replacing them and I got tired of seeing every person everywhere with the white earbuds dangling from their ears. Apple has pretty successfully diluted the brand with all the new iPds so I bet the new hotness will be iPods WITHOUT the white chords... just wait. I kid you not.

Anyways, I wanted a pair that cut out the background noise of Manhattan... I read a lot of reviews of these, the Sony in-ear and the SHURE brand (BOSE was out of the question... I tried them and the active canceling stuff just creates a lot of dead noise... and they're too expensive). I went to J&R to check out the selection of in ear. I brought my iPod so I could test them out with my favorite music.

It took a while. I had a hard time figuring out the most affective way to jam them into my ear. The ER-6's were uncomfortable and I couldn't get a decent sound. The SHURE 3c and 4c's were slightly more comfortable. The Sony's were so hard to work with I almost gave up... then I tried the Shures again. Once I got them in right, the sound was so nice that I almost got them. Instead, I went back through the options with the same method. The ER-6 won. Less work to get them in and out, and more range of sound.

It sucks that you have to work so hard to get a good sound, but when you do, it's worth it.

Best part about the ER-6: They're actually earplugs so they actually BLOCK out everything (funny that they try and make it all fancy by calling it `sound isolation'). No noise canceling backwash noise.

Worst part about the ER-6: They come with these rubber ear pieces attached. They hurt after a while. If you buy these, take them off and use the foam earpieces (included). They're the same material as earplugs and mold to the inner ear. (you also get more bass with these).

Recommendation: I was patient enough to figure out how to wear the ER-6. If you are, too, get them. If you aren't, use the iPod earbuds. No real justification to buy the BOSE... my own Sony studio ear phones are just as good. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Usage in a Zire31 PDA
I bought the Viking 256MB SD card for use with my Zire31 PDA. I have installed eReader on the card and use the card mainly to store eBooks and photos. So far I havn't had any major problem with the card. Occasionally (maybe once or twice a day) the PDA will stop detecting the card (not as bad as it sounds), but I can usually go back to the PDA main menu, select something else (the calculator, etc.), go back to the main menu and then select the Viking 256MB card and the PDA will then begin to detect the card again. If that doesn't work I simply eject the card and then push it back in. The above two methods have worked every time and it only takes a few seconds. I have never lost any data from the card. I don't know why this situation occurs but for the type of usage I'm using the card for and the low cost of the card I am still happy with my purchase. I didn't have any problem with delivery.

What can I say? I bought this 256MB secure digital card to expand the tiny 32MB memory on our digital camera. It was much cheaper than those I found at the local stores. It works great. I just plugged it into the camera slot and my camera can now take hundreds of pictures. No more running out of "film" and no more deleting shots because the camera's memory is full. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars good product
I'm trying to hook up my Yamaha P120 with my PC.
I've spend about 3 hours now, tried about 10 different
variations of installation method including deleting
all the USB drivers on my PC...
Still can't get it to work.
Not sure if I got the lemon product or if I'm doing something wrong...
It drives me mad now..
What I like about?nice long USB cable that is plug and play.. only If it works!!
Well.. trying to think of other ways to get it to work...
Sent the tech support mail today.. If I don't get the result
back tomorrow.. the one star will stay...

Well got it working in 10 second by exchanging it...
dang... 5 hours wasted... and it was all because of a defective item.
Hate you ... whoever inspected this item...
Well, the sh*ts happens...
It seems like a good product..
Leason learned:
1. don't spent too much time trouble shooting a modern day devices that are suppose to be a plug and play.

2. Guitar Center, well sometimes, sell a defective product (I think what I bought was someone's return)...
But anyway, they are nice folks, I'll continue to use Guitar Center. This is an isolated incident.

Well.. would like to change the stars to 4 but don't know how..
So here it is * * * *

if you value the stability of your computer, stay clear. stay well clear.

5-0 out of 5 stars so easy to use
I have been using this interface with both a Mac and a PC and it works well with both.Great product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for home use. Install the driver for your Mac!
This is a good adapter for home use. Having been a roadie, I can pretty confidently say the Midisport Uno's build quality isn't roadworthy -- the attached MIDI cables are about as thin as the RCA cables that come with most home audio equipment, nowhere near as tough as patch cords for a stage rig. But the average home user, who's not plugging and unplugging in a hurry and stepping on the equipment and such, should have no worries. I have one, and it works fine.

A note about appearance: My Uno's body (the oval part, smaller than an average computer mouse) is a deep translucent blue, rather than the opaque color in the current photo here on Amazon. Also, the cables are all one color, black, though the IN and OUT plugs are clearly labeled in molded lettering. There are three green LEDs: one that lights up when the computer recognizes the adapter, one for MIDI in signals, and one for MIDI out -- handy for troubleshooting.

I bought the Uno to connect my Roland alphaJuno-2 to my PowerBook and play with GarageBand. I took it out of the packaging (a rare treat: a molded clamshell-type plastic package that isn't heat-sealed, so it doesn't have to be cut to shreds to open) and hooked it up, and nothing happened. I initially thought that Mac OS X would recognize it automatically, so it took me a few minutes to realize I needed to install the driver software. Although there are drivers on the included CD-ROM, I downloaded the latest version from the manufacturer's web site, installed, and the Uno instantly lit up and GarageBand informed me (because I already had the Roland powered up) that a MIDI device was now connected. It's worked flawlessly since.

Simple to use; no extra cables to attach -- I think this is the perfect USB MIDI adapter for GarageBand users or anyone else connecting one MIDI keyboard to a computer at home. ... Read more

I loved it until it started to hum.I sent it back..

5-0 out of 5 stars You will fall in love with this turntable!
It's hard not to have the twinkle in your eye and Cloud 9 aura about you after buying this turntable. This gorgeous, solidly constructed turntable will seduce you with its sound and its aesthetic appeal.Assembly only takes a minute or two, and the instruction manual is well-written.This turntable does not feel like a plastic hunk of junk that will die in a few years. With the way this mostly-metal turntable was designed and constructed, I expect to grow old with it.Believe all these five-star reviews--it is easy to fall in love with this turntable. It looks and sounds great and is worth every penny!

5-0 out of 5 stars Treat Your Ears!
The AT PL120 is a the best "bang for the buck" for a mid-priced good sounding home use table I've come across yet. It has DJ features like reverse, stylus light, up to 20% pitch adjustment etc-but it's not really a DJ table. I would characterize this machine as a good home system unit suitable for the non "audiophile" who nevertheless appreciates good sounding vinyl. The supplied cartridge sees to that quite well. It really sounds good on a variety of music. The tables DJ features are just uneeded "extras" in my opinion. The important stuff is the direct drive motor which is powerful with lots of torque. The quartz lock control is dead on-what you really need. All in all this is a good sounding good value no fuss home unit. If you're really a DJ get a Technics 1200 instead-don't waste your time with the AT PL120. However, if your reading this I'll bet your not a DJ but just enjoy listening to vinyl-if so go for it! You can't go wrong with this one!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not up to par
I ordered the PL120 and I am surprised at the design flaws it has. For one thing the cables are the shortest length I have ever seen in a commercial turnatable(less than three feet). It has no rubber mat. It has a fabric slip mat, but that is supposed to sit on the bare aluminum platter. The motor has a plenty of torque and it seems to run quite steady. The tracking force adjustment is very touchy - it comes out of adjustment sometimes . The anti-skating does not seem to have much effect. The cueing has a height adjustment, but it is quite jumpy as well. This is not acceptable in an 'Audiophile' machine - much less a 'DJ Grade' turntable. The cartridge that comes with it is not high-end , but it is acceptable. It does look sharp though.

5-0 out of 5 stars New life to my old records
I had an old Technics turntable that was cheap to begin with, and it needed parts to work, so I started looking around for a new turntable. I am surely glad I read the reviews posted here on Amazon, because they convinced me to buy the AT-PL120. The turntable arrived today 2-25-05, and I put it together almost immediately. I have never experienced a turntable of this quality before. I swear the old records sound much richer and clearer than they ever did before. I really appreciate the pre-amp, because my surround sound amp does not have turntable jacks. This was my first experience with a direct drive versus my belt drives of the past. What a huge noticeable difference. My wife and I kept all of our records, and it was very nice to listen to some of our old favorites in amazingly clear sound that is so rich. If you want to resurrect your old record collection and possibly hear that music in more detail than ever before, you should consider this very nice quality turntable. It far exceeded my expectations. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON.COM
Better cards are available from other retailers - just check epinions.com - you will find a whole bunch for $19 or less. Also they deliver, while Amazon does not.The item has label "usually ships in 24 hours", but I have waited 5 (five !) days, and still it was not shipped. Do not buy this card, and check other place than Amazon. The Amazon stinks...

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic card - unbeatable price
I bought this SimpleTech card in early 2003 and have had great results with it.I have shot over 34,000 pictures on it using my Canon PowerShot G3.I use it extensively with my Dell X5 PDA.For the last month, I have been using it in my new Nikon D70 (over 5000 pictures so far from that).I originally paid about $60 for this card.

The card has never failed me.I have given it extreme use.I also have a 256 MB Sandisk card (it failed me once, and I had it replaced under warranty) and a 256 MB Viking card.I had read a review that the Viking card may not be compatible with the G3, so I never used it in that camera.I used the Viking card only in my Canon Powershot S400.However I did use all three cards in my PDA and in the S400.I have used the SimpleTech and the Sandisk both in my D70, as well as a new Sandisk Ultra II 1 GB card.

By comparison, the Sandisk 256 MB card was definitely the slowest when performing the same tasks. It could not keep up with mp3 playback on my PDA.It has noticibly slower write times for photos on my cameras, especially the G3. The SimpleTech and the Viking cards perform about the same as each other.Neither has noticeable slowness on my PDA.Photo write times on the G3 were acceptable with this SimpleTech card.It really did not cause a delay in shooting dut to waiting for pictures to write to the card.

Interestingly, on the D70, this SimpleTech card still keeps up well. The D70 has an advanced buffering system that can hold several (about 12 at normal quality full resolution) images while writing them to the card. This is so much buffer that rarely so I have the need to exceed this many shots in one burst. Thus, when I am using the SimpleTech card, it really does NOT slow down my shooting at all.

By comparison, I do notice that the D70 finishes writing pictures to my ULTRA II card sooner, especially after a burst of several frames.(based on the blinking light that indicates CF card activity)I really never have the need to shoot a continuous burst of frames all the way to a full 256 MB card.

My conclusion is that this 256 MB SimpleTech card is just about the best way to go for CF memory currently. It will cost you less to buy 4 of these (1 GB) than to buy one 1 GB Ultra II card. And then, if you have one of these fail, you will not be out of memory at a crucial time - because you have 3 other cards to use.And you would be able to get a replacement for the failed card later at your convenience.

I highly recommend using multiple smaller cards over single larger cards.256 MB is my size of choice, and this is my choice among inexpensive 256 MB cards. At the current price (around $20 at the writing of this review) you can't go wrong!

5-0 out of 5 stars Reliable and fast
I have been using this 256MB card for an year now on two of my Canon digital camera and a Casio PDA. It has always been reliable and there is no diminishing in storage capacity. Read and write are slightly faster than my San disk 256MB.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Canon Digital Elph S230
I don't know what happened with an earlier reviewer, but my SimpleTech CF card works perfectly with my wife's Canon Digital Elph (Powershow S230). Never had any problems using it in my Minolta Dimage 7u either.

'Normal' SimpleTech cards consistantly write faster than other makers CF cards that are "High-Speed", 16x or whatever faster.

CF card speeds do vary depending on make and model of camera. My Dimage 7 writes a 5 megapixel image faster than my Powershot writes a 3.2 megapixel image. So any specific number given for read/write speed is relative and not absolute.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Customer Service!!
I give only 4 star because the CF card quit after a year of hard service. But if it worked flawlessly I would not have known how good of customer service Simpletech has.Hardly any time was spent on getting hold of customer service.Took less then 5 minutes to get RMA# and return instructions.2 Day Airborne service on replacement card...awsome! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great price...great product
I paid $30 for this same pack at Office Depot a few days ago.

They work great for me.I just finished converting some family VHS tapes to my Macintosh dual G5 2.3 Ghz with a 16x CD/DVD superdrive. I popped the finished DVD in my 1-month old Sony DVD player. It also played well in my 7-year old Sony DVD player.

There aren't many DVD+R DL choices out there.I had no problems with my experience.

1-0 out of 5 stars Never a Good Burn
I've tried to burn these with my Pioneer A08XL using Ulead and Nero software. After 9 attempts (I bought 3 three packs), I never got a playable disk. With Verbatim and Imation, all burns have been successful. So pay a bit more and save yourself a headache.

1-0 out of 5 stars ok disks
These disks are slow and freeze up alot. Most of the time they dont work with any roxio/nero programs.Buy verbatim dvd+r dl and if u guys have ne image scribe dvd+r dl info or dvd+rw dl email me at snitbender@msn.com!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars 1 3 pack = 3 coasters
I wasted a three pack trying to burn to the Memorex disks to a USB ND-2510A.I was using both Nero and Roxio DVD Copy, and had the same results.I went out and bought the Verbatim DL disks and did not have any problems whatsoever.

1-0 out of 5 stars stinkin riteks
There are only a few DVD+R DL media makers out there. MKM, Ritek, Ricoh, & philips, i believe. Most labels use the ritek media because they're cheap, and that's exactly what they are "CHEAP", crap, anyway you want to describe it.I've never had problems burning and playing back MKM Verbatims but these I bought, burned as DVDROM bookytpe, & verified.Played them on 3 different players and they exhibit alot of freezes, skips, etc.Why o why do memorex use riteks. So I won't be buying anymore DL media from memorex. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Make These Fit Better for Cheap!!! - READ THIS
I love these headphones. They sound great, they have great isolation, and they are very durable.BUT, I had almost resigned myself to an unneccessarily painful fit:I have normal sized ears, but I couldn't get either the smallest plastic or foam inserts to be comfortable for more than an hour before I felt like my ears were going to bleed from the outward pressure of these buds . . . until I had a thought: "Why doesn't Shure sell these phones with the small-ish inserts like Etymotics uses.

I had remembered the earplugs that I had used to take all of my biggest exams with, so I went down to my local sporting goods store, browsed the hunting and shooting section and found $2 rubber earplugs with three "fins" on them like the Etymotics. These plugs are hollow, so all you have to do is carefully cut a small hole on the end, cut off the bulk of the back of them (the opposite end of what you put in your ear), stick them on the bare tubes of the Shures, and eureka! My EC2s fit perfectly and sooooo much more comfortably.

I have since learned that Shure sells inserts like these for an extortive price, but why buy when you can make them for 1/5 the price.I reccommend buying 2 or 3 pairs of the earplugs your first go-around, just in case you butcher the first pair like I did.

4-0 out of 5 stars definately worth buying
I use the e2's that came with the shure wireless monitoring system that i use to monitor broadcasts and concerts.they have a very uncolored sound (no extra bass and no extra sizzle for the high freq's) and i find them to be extremely comfortable (rubber sleeves - the foam ones got annoying).i have 2 minor complaints - the wire goes over your ear and down your back, which is great when used in conjunction with a wireless beltpack but a little more inconvenient for use with a laptop or mp3 player.also, the buds slip out of my ears every so often and they really need to be deep inside in order to hear the sound properly.also, if your music is low and you arent in the middle of a large concert or sporting event, you can hear your own breath, chewing, etc.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sure, they sound good, but they HURT your ears!
I bought a pair and I pretty much never wear them anymore. They definitely sound great, and they block out all external sound, so all you hear is the music. . . BUT, I find them very uncomfortable to wear. The so-called "flex sleves" are relatively hard plastic. After about 1/2 hour in my ears they really start to hurt. The foam sleves are marginally better, but take a lot longer to put in.

I think there is a variation on this product that has soft rubber sleves with ridges, rather than the plastic "cones".Those are probably a lot more comfortable (and expensive).

5-0 out of 5 stars Sound Heaven!!!!
These Headphones are just what i was praying for for 3 years. i live in NY, and the subway is a real challenge for ANY headphone pair, and these babys just passed the test!!. i didn't realize, but all of a sudden i was listening to thigs i haven't heard in my favorite music, and then i just saw the train moving, and me not having to hear it!!! this just blew my mind. get them if you take your ears and your music seriously!!!.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply outstanding earbuds
While these are different from typical earbuds (i.e. a bit difficult to fit) they more than make up for it in sound quality. You might have to fiddle with them (people overall seem to have more comfort with the foam earpieces, but the silicone rubber ones supplied worked well for me) to get them to fit securely, but once you do-watch out! They will blow you away!

It is true that they take a little to break in-I sped up this process by connecting them to the headphone jack on my computer, and played music through it at low volumes overnight-once they do, the sound they deliver is outstanding. No fake bass, or muddy midrange-they simply deliver accurate, crystal-clear sound.

In fact, these are so good, you might find yourself listening to these instead of your quality stereo speakers-I really appreciate the sound quality, and unless I am expecting a phone call, etc., prefer these to the stereo speakers I own-that is saying a LOT!

I recommend these without hesitation-if you have trouble fitting them, make sure you follow the instructions, and you should have no problem. A bit confusing, but well worth it!

Also, i am training for a marathon-I exercise with these and an iPod mini without any problems at all-they stay securely in place, and there is no problem with the (heavy duty-quality) cord

5-0 out of 5 stars Own three SimpleTech 256 and a SimpleTech 512 CF cards
I've taken over 24,000 pixs with these on a Nikon CoolPix 5000 and only once did the 512 give me a fright. But in the end, the pixs were there. It happened during file transfer from the card to a PowerMac laptop. It could've been my fault; a little careless last weekend.

Speed of writing on SimpleTech cards is respectable; price is right though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I have used this card for about 6 months and never had any problems. I used it in a Canon G5 camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars Incompatible with Muvo2
I purchased this card and the Sandisk 512 CF.Simpletech wouldn't format in the Muvo2.The Sandisk worked like a charm.Previous experience had this card fail in a week.I should have known better.I have never had a problem with Sandisk, but have been bitten twice with SimpleTech.

4-0 out of 5 stars Reliable, and an excellent value . . .
I use this card in a Canon 10D digital SLR camera, and have found it a very reliable performer. There have been no major problems either writing any kind of data, or extracting the files later. The larger capacity is great for digital SLR camera users. For the Canon 10D, a 6 mega pixel camera, maximum JPEG file size at the highest quality setting averages about 2.5MB, and typically about 190 images can be saved to the card. Using the card in a lower resolution digital point and shoot camera, capacity would of course be many times greater.

As more files are written and the card gets closer to capacity, data transfer speed seems to slow down a bit.Still the card performs reasonably well even when taking a series of images in rapid succession, say four or five in two second interval. With a digital point and shoot camera, transfer speed should not be an issue.

Competitively priced... Economical and reliable, SimpleTech's 512 card is a great value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Reliable and good value....
Over the past five years I have owned several SimpleTech CF cards and they have all performed flawlessly and have great performance and good pricing. Overall they are reliable and a good value. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Compatible with all MS cards; nice to have for PSP
I bought the MSAC-US30 Memory Stick reader because it's the one specified in the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) manual. It's the only reader that's completely compatible with all Memory Stick and Memory Stick Duo media.

The term "Memory Stick" by itself refers to the original Memory Stick flash memory card made by Sony (and a handful other manufacturers like Lexar, Sandisk and TDK)."Memory Stick Duo" is the second generation of Memory Stick, and it's much smaller than the original Memory Stick.Within each generation (MS and MS Duo), there's the standard media and the "PRO" media, which has faster speeds and is better suited for high-speed video devices, i.e., most of us (including PSP owners) don't need the PRO line of MS or MS Duo.To further complicate things, some Memory Sticks (original or Duo) feature the so-called MagicGate technology, which is a copy-protection scheme used only by Sony.

Ok, so this reader is the only one that can read all these Sony-proprietary Memory Stick formats.(The only other USB reader I know of that can read Memory Stick Duo is the Sandisk 12-in-1 reader, but that one has poor quality, slow speed and is not MagicGate compatible.)Which Memory Stick should you get? Here's my take:

1) If you plan to store Sony's ATRAC3 or ATRAC3Plus encoded music files (i.e., those ripped from CDs using Sony's SonicStage software, or those bought at Sony's Connect Music Store), you must use a MagicGate Memory Stick.

2) If you plan to use flash memory in the latest Sony camcorders or the Playstation Portable (PSP), you must buy a Memory Stick Duo card.(Think of MS Duo as Sony's answer to Secure Digital, whereas the original-sized MS competes with CompactFlash.)

3) If you use something that requires high-speed access (e.g., certain Sony digital cameras and camcorders), you should get a Memory Stick or Memory Stick Duo that's PRO-designated.

I know this is all very confusing, and it took me a while to figure out.In fact, the story doesn't end here; users of older Memory Stick cards know some of them used two separate memory chips inside a singular MS card.Anyway, e-mail me gadgester @t hotmail if you have any questions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Idea!
Ok, so I go into Best Buy to buy this thing which I bought for my son and have no idea what it does. So when I get it home, he takes his Memory Stick from his camera and sricks it into the reader. He has to do a project for school so he saves his project onto the stick, takes it to school, prints it out, and he gets it. Good idea if you don't want to spend huge $$$ for flash drives. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Get a convertor box instead
Instead of this pick up a Plextor convertor box.It takes the output of the camcorder (composite/RCA or S-Video) and compresses that to mpeg-2 (DVD) or mpeg-4 (or DivX) and includes software which easily burns that to DVD or CD (mpeg-1 or mini DVD).Look for Plextor's M402U box.Unless you really want to deal with 3.125 MB of data per second (25 Mbps), or about 180 MB per minute, or about 11 GB per hour through the firewire link, get the M402U.Your options will be greatly expanded, and you won't tell the difference by looking.

Excellent method for transfering your videos to your computer for editing and making CD's.The i.Link cable is easy to use.Make sure you order the right cable.I ordered the wrong cable a 4 pin to 4 pin which I believe only works if you have a Sony computer. Most other computers like my Dell will probally need the 6 pin to 4 pin cable.
Also make sure your computer has the capability before ordering. i.LINK is also known as Firewire and IEEE-1394.
It does provide excellent high speed quality video transfers. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The Sennheiser HD590 Prestige is a full-size headphone designed for high sonic performance. Audiophile-grade components, lightweight voice coils, Duofol membranes, an open-ear design, and a frequency response of 12 to 38,000 Hz add up to music that's stunningly alive--be it classical, jazz, or rock. In addition, the HD590 works beautifully with both home and personal stereos, offering deep, natural bass without the need for bass boost equalization.

The HD590 features large-surface Duofol diaphragms--special diaphragms consisting of two foils welded together to reduce standing waves (buildups at specific frequencies that unfavorably color the sound) to an absolute minimum. A new transducer orientation ensures better localization of sounds for a wide, spacious sound stage and generally natural sound reproduction.

A 10-foot OFC (oxygen-free copper) cord connects to the left earpiece only, reducing tangles and giving you room to roam. The 0.25-inch phone jack also comes with a miniplug adapter, making the HD 590 compatible with any size headphone jack. The HD590's innovative BioNetic headband is key to its amazingly light weight. This headphone is designed to adapt to the shape of your head, and the adjustable band rides on an airy, plastic cushion for added comfort.

The HD590 is a factory refurbished product, meaning it was returned to the manufacturer and restored to like-new condition. The product comes with a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Watch for amazon's $120 deals - they're an amazing bargain!
The Sennheiser HD590 is something of a bastard child among headphones. Disliked by audiophiles and passed over in favor of the newer HD555 and HD595, unheard of by consumers who flock to the terrible Bose Triports and Sony MDR-V700's, the HD590's have fallen out of favor with the audio community, in one way or another.

That is a shame. These are some damn fine phones. Amazon's occasional $120 deals on them are absolutely fantastic - you will not find better sounding headphones for this much money.

The HD590's offer a slightly bright, very detailed sound, with a very strong, punchy bass. Their mids are slightly recessed (i.e. quieter and more distant than the bass and treble), and it is for this reason that audiophiles bash them. I don't understand this, especially since the very same audiophiles praise the Beyerdynamic DT770's, which are much more recessed in the mids and brighter in the treble.

Their soundstage is very good. They are very three-dimensional sounding with the right recordings, portraying accurately the acoustic characteristics of the recording venue. If you have never heard hi-fi headphones before, you will be amazed at how these portray the spatial localization of each and every sound. They are also very detailed, especially in the treble. You will hear sounds in your recordings that you've never heard before.

These headphones can be driven by powerful sources without an amplifier, but portable devices such as iPods and portable CD players will be hard-pressed to drive them. I would recommend these headphones for home use with stationary audio systems. They will not truly come to life, however, until you add a headphone amplifier. There are many amplifiers available, and I will not list the multitude of different models here. This, perhaps, is their biggest drawback. They really do need a lot of power.

They're also very, very comfortable. They're light, they have a firm grip on your head, but because the pads are very cushy and deep, the grip never becomes bothersome. Instead, they just seem to disappear, like a pair of snug, comfy earmuffs. I've worn these for 10 hours straight, and I didn't notice that I have them on after 30 minutes. They're also very durable, even though they're largely built out of plastic.

The downsides? At $120, I really can't find any. At $150 or the regular asking price, I would say that they're a bit too bright and too recessed in the midrange, and there are other options which may be slightly better. But if you see one of Amazon's $120 deals pop up, grab these immediately! Your ears will not regret it.

Lastly, do keep in mind that these are open headphones. They will not isolate you from the outside world, and they will leak sound everywhere. People in the same room with you will definitely hear what you're playing. This isn't a downside of these headphones specifically, but a downside of open headphones in general.

I use these with my computer, in combination with a Chaintech AV-710 sound card, a 3' Kimber RCA-mini cable, and a Meier Audio Porta Corda Mk II headphone amplifier. All together, this makes for a very nice computer system. For serious listening, I prefer my Stax SR-4040 electrostatic system, but it's not really a fair comparison =D

Rating: A very solid 5 stars at $120. 4 stars at the retail price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing...
I've owned a pair of Grado SR-80's now for a few years.Over time however I've listened to them less and less due to the fact that after about and hour or two my ears are sore. For whatever reason I just haven't realized that there were alternatives out there so when I saw these reconditioned cans I pulled the trigger. The sound is amazing and I'm finding that with time they're sounding better. The high's are amazingly unobtrusive and the bass is..well..awesome.For the money I simply can't imagine anyone would find anything better anywhere.I now listen to music a lot more and am enjoying relistening to music that I had forgotten I enjoyed so much.Buy them...no regreats.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Darn Good
Hey people, if you have any reservations about buying this product because it is reconditioned, worry not. I got mine the other day and there's absolutely no evidence of them ever having been used/touched in any way. And they sound real nice. I would give them 4.5 stars because they tend to get a bit bright when played at high volumes, but at normal (non-deafening) levels, they sound wonderful (Esp. with acoustic-type music). I've just come to expect god-like quality from any piece of audio equipment I purchase. They work pretty well with iPod too.... you just need to have the volume pretty high. Oh, and these suckers are VERY comfortable. Is there better out there? Maybe, but for (...), you can't really go wrong here (when purchasing an iPod, I listened to those (...) Bose triports they're trying to sell, and they sounded/felt like total (...) in comparison to the 590's). Hell, you can probably sell them for about the same price you pay here. So, if you've never heard a good stereo, give youself a treat and buy these, they're probably the cheapest way into high fidelity that I know of. Oh, and if you give these a try, you may want to give 'em a few days before you really judge them. Although I've always been skeptical of this "breaking in" of audio equipment, I seem to like the sound better a week after getting them (~40 hrs use). Who knows, maybe they're just "really growing on me," to quote the Darkness (Hey, what's a review without a Darkness quote anyways?). Enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars True Audiophile Phones
Sennheiser is known for audiophile headphones, and microphones. Their vintage mikes are true collectors items, and chances are that your favorite crooners were recorded with sennheiser mikes. The 590's are almost identical to the top of the line 600's. I own both the 590 and grado headphones, and IMHO the sennheisers blow away the grado. The high and mid range are especially transparent and natural sounding, the bass clean, tight and not overwhelming. Great all around choice. They are of lower efficency than cheap phones, so you need a relatively high ouput device or a separate headphone amplifier to realize their full potential. ... Read more
