Am ready to purchase my 2nd set of JVC 10 pack tapes, have not had a single bit of trouble,( no clogged heads here),have stayed only with this brand on my JVC recorder. Will most likly always stay with this superior brand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality
I got a 10Pack of these tapes and it's quality is really good, I have used TDK and MAXWELL, but for the price this is having excellent quality and in par with TDK

Highly recommended

1-0 out of 5 stars Low Cost Equals Low Quality
After purchasing my Canon ZR-90 this summer, and using the four pack of TDK tapes ABC Warehouse gave me with the camcorder, I went online and found these tapes and bought two ten packs due to the great price and the JVC name.
They have only done one thing, clogged up my video head on the camcorder.I videotape my sons basketball games for their coaches and it was only after the first couple of games and bad recordings that I got onto Canon's website and realized my video head was clogged.I purchased a head cleaner and the first tape after the cleaning taped great, but the next tape clogged my head up, so to use these tapes, I highly recommend you clean your video head after EACH use, which is not good for your video head on your camcorder.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good deal
The price is excellent and I could not see any difference compared to any other tape. It works great with my Canon Optura30.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good tape, great price
I've ordered twice from this vendor (total of 3 ten-packs) and have been completely satisfied with the quality of the tape and their prompt shipping.I've used these tapes in my business for multiple projects, shooting on a professional Sony DVcam camcorder.I've had no problems at all.And the price is great, obviously.I'll be ordering more of same from this vendor soon.

NOTE: I have learned through years of experience that with ANY brand of videotape it is wise to "re-pack" the tape before shooting on it, preferably in an edit deck. (In order save on weight & battery consumption, camcorder motors are less heavy-duty than edit deck motors. If you have an edit deck, save your camera the wear and tear.)

"Re-packing" is simply a matter of fast-forwarding the fresh tape all the way to the end, the rewinding it to the beginning. This rewinds (or "re-packs") the videotape with a 'normal' tension that is not too tight for the motor of one's camcorder.

Rarely, but sometimes the high-speed manufacturing process can result in tape being wound so tightly that that minor tape speed fluxuations (or tape stretching - ouch!) can result when using a camcorder for recording on tapes that one has not re-packed.Again, this is something I recommend for any brand of mini-DV tape, from any vendor, at any price.Happy shooting!

3-0 out of 5 stars where the heck is the bass?
There are a couple of things to rave about with the Senn px200.Its most charming feature is its compact foldable design.Secondly, its thd % is low, so sound is very very clean. The flattery stops there.

I waited patiently like a saint for the bass to present itself after the "burn-in period."Well, the bass never really gets to where it needs to be for actual listening enjoyment.I didn't even have a moderately good time with these.Bass which isn't there to begin with will not miraculously appear all of a sudden...there is no bass, ABSOLUTELY NO BASS with the Senn px200 period.I'm no basshead by any means, but come on.Where the heck is the bass?

Alongside its basslessness, the Senn px200 is also a bright little performer.Ouch...that's two strikes...no bass and shrill on top of that.Hmnn... needless to say, I sent these back to Amazon.

Seriously ponder whether these are worth the purchase.Consider the Sennheiser hd 202 for a closed design headphone. For about 25 dollars,it's great-sounding and easily portable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Near perfect form and function
I bought these a little over 6 months ago. This is the best headphone purchase I've ever made.I use them at the office for listening to music. For the price, you can't beat them. They produce great quality sounds and the do an admirable job blocking out other sounds too.Full rich sound, good for everything from dance to classical.

The industrial design aspect is simply amazing. They are very comfortable to wear. They collapse in to a great form factor for either putting in your desk or in your bag.The cord, itself, uses a sort of sliding binder to either keep the right and left cords neat when the headphones are put away. The case is the best I've ever seen for headphones.Everything gets neatly tucked away or wound up so that storage is simple and safe.

Simply a great product

3-0 out of 5 stars Adequate
Sennheiser has built an overall ok pair of headphones. Although priced high, these headphones introduce a new, very durable case system. These headphones actually fold up and go into a very small transport case, which seems to stand past lots of banging and hitting.

The headphones are light and quite comfortable. Although these headphones could be much better than what they are, I'd generally call them adequately, they do their job. The sound quality is good, though it misses that so important base.

Think twice before buying these, investigate other options as well, though if you settle on these, I don't blame you.

4-0 out of 5 stars very good for portable devices
sennheiser px200 is a good pair of headphones for those who would use them for a portable device. Small, compact, comfortable, they also sound very good compared to what you can get from this size of headphones. The sound is crystal clear and very good for acoustic music. With other types of music you will find them a bit sharp. But if you have adjustable EQ then they are fine. Good bass too. Only a few flaws: do not isolate you from the outside noise 100%; give a weak static noise when used with PC or something more powerful. I use them with my iRiver cd player and they are just the perfect match for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones
I've had my new PX200s for a couple of days now and no, they are not as good as the HD-414s of my youth but they are great portable headphones.

I would just like to know what engineer was working on his masters when he designed the case.It does take some time getting used to.

1-0 out of 5 stars This was a major disappointment!!!
Bought these on my way from Australia to Norway. They did not even come close to reducing engine-noise significantly. I suspect that the ear fit is crucial for the function. However there is no way I can position the plugs so that I get good sound quality. The Bass disappears but get better when the plugs are pressed firmly into the ears and held there wit great discomfort. I would choose any cheap set of earphones any day instead of this junk.

1-0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE PRODUCT SONY NC -11
These ear buds have to be the worst in the industry.I have ordered 4 sets of the NC11, hoping that the others were just defective, but oh no, not the case at all. They simply do not do the job of filter out all outside noise. Not even close do they come.It is so disappointing because I have been a loyal Sony fan for many years, more years that I would like to remember. The NC11 is so bad ( how bad is it) :), that if I were Sony I would recall every set made and find another day job.HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE...
Sorry Sony, but that is the absolute truth of your noise canceling headphone.Wished there could have been a 0 star rating. And, it is a shame that there is no one to talk to at Sony that really give a big rats tail. They need to listen to the consumer. And then again, there are those who dont realize how bad this product is, simply because that havent tested other products. 1-0 out of 5 stars Short lived life, but good while it lasted
I got these headphones in January, but they died just over the 90-day warranty. One thing before I get to the details is that Sony customer support is HORRIBLE.It really is like talking to a wall when you use the "live customer support".Don't even bother using the repair/exchange program for something out of warranty, for example, i got these headphines for about $80, and they wanted me to pay $76 plus shipping to give me a refurbished one or to repair it (the replacements have no warranty, so you might as well be asking for a broken one).Anyways, the problem i had with these was not the noise cancelling, which was wonderful, but the fit.I like the length of the right headphone, but the headphones themselves have a problem with tiwsting our of straightness so sometimes the point forward. The broken part of my headphones was the left earbud. It just died one day and would not work. The right headphone worked perfectly, noise cancelling and all.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bikin' and Yard Work
I purchased these earphones because I wanted to hear less road and engine noise while riding my motorcycle. My stock MP3 player ear phones hurt my ears and did not stay put inside my full face helmet.I bought 2 different styles of earphones at Target, basing my decision on which earphone looked more comfortable inside my helmet.

After experimenting with the 3 different styles of earphones, I found the biggest problem was I consistently heard too much road, engine or wind noise. To overcome this problem, I decided to buy noise reducing earphones.

The Sony earphones were very, very comfortable, they fit well inside my helmet and would stay in place for hours. The noise cancelling feature was effective (see chart below).

The earphones also worked well when I did yard work (mowing, edging).I think the theory that you "save" your haring when you use them is probably true because you don't have to the volume turned up so loud because you don't have to overcome so much background noise.

The biggest disappointment is the earphone cords, they are way too long and get tangled easily. The other problem is remembering to turn off the sound reducing part of the ear phones. If you turn off the MP3, the earphones are still on.There is a red "idiot light" that glows when it is on, but it is very hard to see in the daylight.Below is a little chart to help you understand how I assessed various features (Scale is 1-10, 10 is the best)

Comfort 9
stability 9
(stays in ear)
convenience 7
effective 7
wind 7
engine 7
road 9
voices 8
yard equipment
mower 8
edger 7
battery useage 10
cords 4

I would reccommend these head phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing - a waste of money
As other reviewers have pointed out here (see E.K.Clark's detailed appraisal), these earphones hardly offer any more noise reduction than you would get with much cheaper soft 'earbuds'. Frankly the noise cancelling effect is so slight that it's difficult to tell whether the unit is switched on or off.I've tried them on planes and trains, and they fail to significantly reduce engine noise, voices or air conditioning noise.

This is the first time I've been disappointed by a Sony product, and I felt quite betrayed after believing the claims for noise reduction on the package.Claims of 'reducing noise by 70%', and 'peace and quiet wherever you go' are extremely misleading.Sony should be ashamed of themselves.

To make matters worse, the wires are stiff and far too long to make them comfortable to use even as ordinary earphones.

I can't understand the positive reviews posted here.I can only assume that the reviewers have never tried the 'ordinary' soft rubber earbud phones (Sony MDR-EX70LP), which do as good a job of sealing out noise, at a third of the price.

Sony, I want my money back. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Quality
This is the 2nd time to return this card back to Lexar. Keep getting errors and they do not reimburse postage.

3-0 out of 5 stars My experience with the 256MB version of this card...
Before you purchase this card, make sure that your camera supports the Write Acceleration Technology. I purchased Lexar's 40x 256MB card (with Write Acceleration) about a year ago for my Minolta DiMage 7Hi camera, and realized my camera did not support the new technology. The CF card still worked, but there was no increase in speed over other cards.

I checked Lexar's website, and it said that my camera does not support the Write Acceleration technology. The link is here: http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/wa_cf.html

Current (as of this review) cameras supporting WA technology:
- All Kodak Professional cameras and pro camera backs, such as the DCS Pro Back 645, DCS Pro Back Plus, DCS 720x, DCS 760, DCS 760m and DCS 14n
- Nikon D1x, D1h, D-100 (Requires camera firmware upgrade by Nikon. See Nikon's web page for more details) and D2h
- Sanyo DSC-MZ3
- Sigma SD-9
- Sigma SD10
- Pentax *ist D
- Olympus E1

Lexar USB Card Reader (included):
- Works only with Lexar CF Cards. Attempted to use with SanDisk and Kingston CF Cards but did not work. Should not be a problem if you only use Lexar products. However, if you do, consider buying a separate card reader.

For a full breakdown of how many pictures you can take with different card capacities, go to http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/capacity_chart.html

5-0 out of 5 stars Reliable, fast, compatible with wide range of devices
I bought the Lexar 1GB 40x CF card to use in my Nikon D70 digital SLR camera.Originally I had a 256MB CF card but that one would not support high-speed write so I couldn't take full advantage of Nikon's 3fps continuous mode. The Lexar 40x CF card simply works, and now I can shoot burst pics at the D70's 3fps speed without any problems.

I have always liked Lexar's flash memory products, as I've never had a single problem with the dozen of them I've owned (CF, SD, MS).Lexar's cards are also compatible with a wider range of products than Sandisk or Viking. The only other flash brand I totally trust is Panasonic, but they only make SD these days.

If you have a digital SLR the 40x speed should be enough.I don't know of any current d-SLR that really takes advantage of anything higher than 6mbps. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Product!
At first I thought that this adapter wasn't being recognized by my 3 year old Compaq 2700T laptop when I first inserted it, and then I discovered that it becomes recongized when you insert any one of the 6 media card types into it. When I put a Secure Digital card into it the adapter and the card's 'contents' were immediately recognized. All pictures on the card were successfully downloaded to the hard drive. I have not tried any of the other media card types yet, but I have no reason to believe that they shouldn't behave just as well as the Secure Digital card. This was a GREAT choice I made! This gives me one more option for making sure that I am able to download and store my digital pictures. Buy it if you have a notebook PC and need an 'extra' option for downloading 'your' digital pics. Also, I would not get it unless you have 2 or more varieties of media cards. This does not allow for downloading the Compact Flash variety of media card however. For that, there is another adapter product by SanDisk for the Compact Flash variety. I hope I have helped somebody with this review.

4-0 out of 5 stars Note: Choose other SanDisk product for Compact Flash
A visit to SanDisk's web site confirms that the 6-in-1 PC Card adapter is for SD/MMC/SmartMedia/Memory Stick/Memory Stick Pro/xD.It will not work with Compact Flash as mentioned in the short description.SanDisk has two other products available on Amazon for use with Compact Flash cards.

5-0 out of 5 stars You will ENJOY learning to play the guitar!
This software is absolutely the BEST guitar teaching program available today. The program made it fun and easy for me to learn to play the guitar.Compared to private lessons here in Phoenix priced at between $19 to $21 for 30 minutes of instruction, this CD is a real bargain!I love it so much that I'm going to purchase eMedia's Intermediate Guitar Method software right now.

5-0 out of 5 stars YOU Will play the Guitar!
I had been wanting to take guitar lessons but did not have the time. After doing some research I purchased eMedia's Guitar Method.Iloaded up the software and began my first lesson.Within an hours time I was playing a song!I could not beleive it.I have never had a lessons nor could I understand a note. There are some really good features like a built in tuner and animated fretboard(my fav).I highly recommend the product. It's like personal lesson in your home!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great teaching tool.
I really like this software.I have tried to follow countless guitar books only to abandon them halfway through. The interactivity and quicktime movies provided with this software makes it much more interesting to follow.I never get bored learning guitar with this software.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for beginner guitar players!!
If you are a beginner guitar player and are frustrated with your lack of progression, this product is a must have.It is a progressive program, starting with the basics such as; tuning a guitar, replacing strings on a guitar, and even how to hold the guitar. The lessons then move into your first couple of chords and basic folk songs which use those chords.Learning is by repitition and continually building on what you've already learned. You may feel a little silly playing songs like "She'll be comin' around the mountain" and "Oh-suzanna" but you'll soon see the benefit of these simple songs when you can suddenly make smooth chord transitions, which will of course help you later with the more complex lessons and songs. The best thing I've found about this program is that you move at your own pace.If you're having problems with a particular lesson or a certain chord transition, you can continue working on it until you're ready to move on.You can even go back and review any lesson you want. This is especially handy if you've had a break between practice sessions and it's been a while since you picked up your guitar. Also, after each chapter, the program gives you a list of popular songs which you should be capable of playing using the chords and techniques you've learned up to that point in the lessons. The program also has a very useful chord dictionary, metronome, and animated fretboard to follow along with during a song.Even if you don't even know what a fretboard is... even if you don't know a single chord... if you just picked up a guitar for your first time and haven't the slightest idea where to start...THIS PROGRAM WILL HELP!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars The discs are the best DVD-RAMs
They work great in Panasonic DVD recorders and on PCs.The only thing I do not like is the slim case.Really annoying.Too thin and no spine to write what's on it.I end up with a bunch DVDs that I don't what's on them without going through them.Panasonic's DVD-Rs are excellent also.I don't mind paying extra for good quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, But NOT Eligible for Amazon Prime
I bought a pack of these when a major retailer had a rebate deal on them, and they work wonderfully.I have had no problems with them using my Panasonic DMR-E85H DVD Recorder with 120 GB internal hard drive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great in Panasonic DVD recorders
Panasonic appears to be the only company still holding on to the DVD-RAM format, presumably because they developed it and hence control the patents, etc.Anyway, DVD-RAM is nothing to write home about except when you use one in a Panasonic tabletop DVD recorder, it can do wonders, like time-slip recording, etc. It's almost like a hard drive (albeit slow one), and it can be rewritten many times.

This product (LM-AF120LU5) is a slim case, 5-pack of 2-3x speed, single sided, 120-minute (hence "120" in the model number), 4.7GB, non-cartridge DVD-RAMs.In EP mode the max recording time is 360 minutes, but the video quality will be barely tolerable.

So the per-disc cost comes out to less than $3 as of this writing. That's 3x more expensive than DVD-RW and DVD+RW blanks, but DVD-RAM has proven itself very reliable, much more so than the RW media, provided you can find a compatible drive (e.g., aforementioned Panasonic DVD recorders).

Amazon.com Review

Sennheiser seals its reputation as the classiest name in headphones with the stunning HD600, a stylish and high-tech headphone that's exquisitely pleasing to listen to and nearly as pleasing to wear. A near-perfect mating of art and science, the HD600 uses an open, over-ear design to eliminate unwanted resonances and optimally position its large, dynamic drivers just outside your ears--so they work more like miniature speakers than traditional in-ear or against-ear drivers.

Granted, all this comes at a pretty hefty price for a headphone. But the lightweight HD600 represents one hefty value. It so far outshines other headphones in sound quality, build quality, and comfort that despite its price it's still a strong value.

Of course, with a headphone like this and a name like Sennheiser, it's the sound you're really after. With stand-alone loudspeakers, the goal is generally to provide balanced sound across as much of the audible sound spectrum as possible (roughly 20 to 20,000 Hz). High-frequency reproduction is easier than low, simply because low-frequency reproduction requires a speaker to move so much air. Speakers capable of rendering deep bass usually use large speaker cones--8 inches or more in diameter--to help move the necessary volume of air.

Headphones, of course, are restricted in the sizes of the drivers they can use. Being so much closer to your ears, the amount of air they need to move to convey bass frequencies is much smaller, but still a challenge for what are basically tiny speaker cones. And anyone who's listened to a lot of headphones can tell you, there's almost always a tradeoff in what a headphone driver is capable of. Some produce balanced overall sound with little in the way of bass; others aim for bass at the expense of natural-sounding midrange and coloration-free treble.

The Sennheiser HD600, we're here to tell you, manages--through its extremely high-grade parts and exquisite engineering--to bring home truly full-range sound with remarkable timbral balance. Rich, deep, effortless bass grounds the listening experience while the headphone's airy midrange and treble help render everything from acoustic bass to soprano saxophone and electric guitars with a haunting degree of realism.

The HD600 doesn't offer the lush midrange favored by tube-amplifier enthusiasts--tube fans may find the headphone somewhat bright and maybe even strident in tone. But the rest of us will revel in the expanse of crystalline detail and snare-snappy dynamics.

The exceptionally natural quality of the HD600's overall sound bears reiteration, since so many headphones with "fat" or even "slamming" bass response deliver the low-end goods with a degree of emphasis that, while pleasing to bass aficionados, grossly distorts the frequency balance, limiting the range of music and recordings that will sound good on those headphones.

How does Sennheiser do it? Through computer-optimized magnets--critical to driver operation--that minimize harmonic and intermodulation distortion, granting the HD600 its uncanny clarity and spaciousness. Furthermore, the headphone's advanced diaphragm design eliminates standing waves in the diaphragm material, preventing unwanted emphasis at otherwise resonant frequencies.

As good as this headphone is, however, we don't recommend it to those seeking a stellar headphone for portable use. While this unit is capable of amazing sound, its best performance requires more amplifier power than most portable devices can muster. The HD600 owes its strength in part to its large drivers, which just can't be moved as easily as those in smaller headphones.

Furthermore, the HD600's open-ear design means that sounds pass easily into and out of these headphones, which would in all likelihood prove irritating to you and to those around you in libraries, on buses, and even at the office. These are only our suggestions, however; the fact is your MP3s will probably never sound better than when you're playing them over this headset.

We'll just leave you with one last suggestion, then: if you're after the best-sounding, most comfortable audiophile headphones you can buy at anything resembling a real-world price, look no further than Sennheiser's HD600. --Michael Mikesell

Pros:

  • Natural timbral balance
  • Extremely detailed presentation
  • Excellent bass extension
  • Produces a spacious, wider-than-your-head soundstage
  • Terrifically comfortable

Cons:

  • Slightly bright treble for some tastes

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Lexar Media 512MB xD-Picture Cards XD512-231, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value
When a product works flawlessy and does everying you expect at this price point, all you can say is VERY COOL! Do not hesitate to buy this product if you are using the cards it can read. You won't go wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Price I've Seen
I already had an 8-in-1 reader and didn't realize that it couldn't read xD. You see I'm new to the digital imaging market and just bought a new digital camera. It turns out I needed an xD reader/writer and the SanDisk 95 fit the bill.

The price for one of those CF/xD adapters was too much, the same goes for the USB/xD adapter and the PCMCIA/xD adapter.
I needed something inexpensive (so that if it dies in the field, I can buy a new one w/o remorse), compact and travels easily with the camera.

So far the performance is admirable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good product for a good price
Nothing much to say - it reads and writes SM and XD cards with no problems whatsoever.Plug-n-Play is nice; I was up and running in a matter of minutes, right out of the box.A great price also, since everything I found in stores was around $20.

The only disappointing thing about this purchase was Amazon.com.The reader arrived in a severely tampered-with package. The entire back compartment that houses the USB cable had been cut open and was dangling, and the entire supposed-to-be sealed plastic rim that surrounds the package was cut off.Luckily the reader didn't appear to have been tampered with, and I'm assuming that maybe the cable was swapped out or this was a return. However, whatever the reason, there is no excuse for Amazon to ship out a new item in this condition. There is no way that someone could have overlooked this, other than simple lack of concern.Out of the 10+ purchases I have made with Amazon, this is the first one that has disappointed me.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome!
this is great! TRUE plug and play with both MAc(both 9 and 10) and Win(all versions 2000 and up)

so much better than a pny one - which isn't true plug and play at all even with windows xp you still have to install the drivers from the cd =(

4-0 out of 5 stars Does Not Work With Computer Inputs
I have used the ECMMS907 to fill about 150 mini discs since I bought it three years ago. It runs lovingly on one AA battery (unlike it's watch-battery-dependent predecessor) and allows for two polor patterns 180 and 90 degrees. The casing of the unit is rugged. It includes wind screen, travel pouch, stand clip, and four foot cloth encased cable. I have been able to record everything from street musicians to Dave Bruebeck concerts.

In pro audio it isn't considerd cool to like Sony gear as it often uses digital tricks to achieve a bogus sense of higher fidelity, but Sony electronics are bulletproof and work exactly as designed until you lose them or back them over with your car. That said...

Lots of people I have spoken with purchased this microphone thinking they could jack into the 1/8" input on thier laptop computer and get desirable results. This might work if your microphone is inches away from a blaring guitar amp, but won't do well with amient recordings or speaking as the output gain is far too low. Most people are not happy in this situation.

Overall, worth every penny.Perhaps there is a modification out there to improve the output gain.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good recording results; holder doesn't fit standard stands
I like the results I have gotten with this microphone, both in a concert setting and recording myself and friends playing music with my minidisc recorder.

My only reason for giving this mic 4 out of 5 stars is that the thread size on the holder that comes with it does not fit the threads of any microphone stand I am aware of.Also, the body of the mic has a somewhat oblong shape instead of being perfectly round. As such, you'll have a hard time finding any standard mic holder to attach this microphone to a stand.

The solution is to go to Radio Shack and get their spring-clip style microphone holder.I think it cost me about $6, if that.It has standard threads to attach to a stand, and the sides of the holder have foam padding where they contact the mic, to give a good grip.

Of course, the holder is designed to act as its own "stand" if you want to set it on a table or desktop while recording. However, the mic can easily fall over if the table/desk is bumped or if the cord gets tugged inadvertently.

Otherwise, the mic has a nice, solid feel and appears to be well-constructed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great microphone for instrument recording
I brought this microphone to record violin playing. The result was amazingly well.I did little modification to the microphone, by re-wiring it from stero to XLR.Using two of this kind of micropones, recording on both MR-8 8 track digital recorder and US-224 Tascam digital recorder, I could make CD at professional quality.Sony does make a professional microphone with similar technology. The difference between that one and this one is the connector. For this consumer product, they purposely made it not XLR.The simlar microphone with XLR connector sold over $200 each.

4-0 out of 5 stars Affordable Digital Recording.GREAT VALUE!!!
The other reviewers wrote some great info about this Microphone. Some drawbacks are the relatively bulkyness of this unit as compared to others.

The sound quality is sufficiently clear when recording, but is not sensitive enough to satisfy the most demanding users such as musicians or professional reporters. As the other reviewers have said, you need a relatively loud source as there is no sensitivity switch or zoom feature. It does have the 90-120 degree switch, so you can toggle the range depending on what you are recording.

This microphone is very compatible with many different devices.MD is the best though.

Here's one MD player recorder that I know has the microphone jack and works great with this microphone:
'Sony MZ-NF810CK Net MD MiniDisc Recorder with Car Kit'

However, don't be fooled. Not every MD player has the appropriate Mic Jack.Double Check the technical documentation to make sure.Units that definitely do not have it are:
'Sony MZ-NE410 High Speed Net MD Walkman Recorder'

Notice the deceptive "Recorder" moniker in the product name.Don't be fooled!Very few MD "recorders" actually record with a microphone!

Not sure about these:
'Sony MZ-NF610 High Speed Net MD Walkman Recorder'
'Sony MZ-N510CK NetMD Walkman/Recorder with Car Kit'
'Sony MZ-N505 Net MD Walkman Player/Recorder'

Do your research before purchasing any MD player. All in all, this is a good value and pretty good quality for a digital microphone.

5-0 out of 5 stars This mic is great for the price
If you look around you'll see that this mic is one of the most popular for recording concerts, lectures, etc.I found it to be clear when recording, although there needed to be moderate volume. There is no sensitivity switch. It does have the 90-120 degree switch, so you can increase the scope of recording. The unit is built well, and comes apart easily to allow replacement of the battery, which should last a long time. When using this microphone, make sure if the volume level reaching you is not high enough, position it better, like one other reviewer said, or spend the extra money and get a zoom microphone. Also an mp3 player that allows digital recording comes in really handy. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this mic
I recommend the Sony ECM-DS70P stereo microphone.

This mic is great to use with the Sony Mini disc recorders such as MZ-N707 and up.Although it is referred as uni directional, I have found the stereo separation very good.

As you are recording yourself with other singers for example you distinctly hear the vocal separation or instrument separation on playback so, then you can get an interesting separated sound by adjusting the mike direction.

So, even though the L and R mics are close together they must be facing in different directions to get that quality of separation.

There probably are better mikes, and I am sure they cost more money.I am critical of what sound goes in my ears, and this is excellent for my needs, which is self recording, recording voice lessons, live performances etc.

If you were to find this review helpful, please click yes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not JUST for Sony recorders
Contrary to earlier review, this microphone works GREAT with devices other than Sony; just make sure that your recording device provides plug power. I use this microphone with my iRiver iHP-120 20GB MP3 Jukebox --- records great stereo sound directly into MP3s. Fantastic for recording my kids' concerts. Highly, highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for MD recording! Nice for the price!
This unit is not as compatible as compared to others. But, what it loses in compatibility it makes up for in features. It's wonderfully small and works great with Sony MD recorders.True, it isn't as versitile as the battery models, but it's a lot smaller too.If you just want to do MD recording, this is the unit for you.

The sound quality is sufficiently clear when recording, but is not sensitive enough to satisfy the most demanding users such as musicians or professional reporters. You need a relatively strong source.

All in all, this is a good value and the ideal microphone for those wanting to record onto a Sony MD.

3-0 out of 5 stars brilliant product, but only works with Sony products!!
I fell in love with the design and spy-movie size of this microphone, but it doesn't work with most recording devices, because most recording devices aren't equipped for "plug-in power", eg, the Denon DAT player that I wanted to use- couldn't get any signal to record on this. Ditto for my friend who bought the same microphone to use with his laptop- couldn't get any signal. If you, like me, dig sony's products on the whole, you should get the ECMMS907. It takes a battery and will work with any recording device. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Would not stray from this brand again.
I first purchased these in the 25 pack spindle when I first used my generic brand DVD burner. After 25 successful burns I went cheap and tried the Velocity equivalent. Never again! 9 out of 10 burns were coasters. I bought the Ridata 50 pack and after another 20 or so discs - not one bad disc. Lesson learned.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not all 8x QUALITY writes
I have the newest Plextor 716UF, hands down the highest quality burner available.(TLA0304)It's Media Quality Check can determine the write quality before burning to the media.Of the first 10 discs checked, 8 of these return with a "good" report at 8x.This is considerably better than 90% of the verbatim 8x writing at 2x reliably.Plextor ALWAYS makes reliable, high quality burns by adjusting the burn speed to the media.

UPC for spindle: 46122002016
EAN for spindle: 4719303660861
made in taiwan

DVD Identifier reports these Ridata's "unique disc identifier" to be: [DVD+R:RITEK-R03-001].Media codeblock snippet: RITEK R03 #T7. Full media code block: http://geocities.com/return050403/mcb_ridata.txt

looking at the inner ring lot numbers one can see there are MULTIPLE lots on one spindle:http://geocities.com/return050403/lot_ridata.txt

So quality will sadly vary from disc to disc.Disc 20, according to Media Quality Check "..would not be recoded properly at the specified speed"(8x), while disc 10 would be.

5-0 out of 5 stars These DVDs beat all the rest out there!
I have burned over 200 in the past 6 months and not one came out crappy, I burn at 8x on my HP a642n and it is NO problem.I have used other dvds and they were POOR quailty and no good so I am sticking with Ridata, they are the best!

5-0 out of 5 stars Works fine with Sony External DVD Burner
Bought these DVDs expecting to see some coasters, based on their price. All DVDs in the box worked fine, no coasters at all. I use the Sony External 8x DVD Burner that has an USB interface. Highly recommended. The trick to burning DVDs is to not do anything else on the computer while the dvd burning is going on. I used to get quite a few coasters, when I used to multiplex on computer.

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor compatibility, don't waste your money.
Since the price is higher than the average for most DVD+Rs, I bought this item expecting to have better than average compatibility. This was not the case.Even burning at a 2X speed, I was only able to get the discs to play on two out of four players, and one out of three DVD-ROM drives.I see all these 4-5 star reviews, so maybe mine were part of a bad batch, but for now, don'
