4-0 out of 5 stars Atlast- great storage capacity
Having gotten the new 1 gb 45 hour disc mini disc, I am happy because it is now possible to get on one disc what I previously had to spread over 34 standard 80 minute discs. If I want, I can store about 900 songs, or 70 cd's, or save a whole year of voice lessons.

Can you imagine how great it is to no longer worry about running out of disk space or having to delete tracks to create space, or using a lot of discs.

For $6.99 for 45 hours, this is $0.15 per hour compared to about $1.50 per disc for the standard 80 minute discs, so the value is incredible.

If you have an older MD player you may find this HI-MD to be incompatible with that software, so be sure your player is compatible or that you have updated software before buying. My MZN HF800 (reviewed separately) is compatible.

I highly recommend this.If you find this review helpful please click yes.

5-0 out of 5 stars MINIDISC IS FOREVER!!
This disc can hold up to 40 discs on one mini. The sound quality is perfect. These discs can be hard to find in the stores, but they are available at www.minidisco.com.They even are available in 10 and 20 packs.I would also suggest buying the sony MZ-NH1.It's a little pricey, but the sound quality is excellent. It's almost as small as a minidisc and you can do everything from the remote. You can even download to and from your computer.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Minidisc Improved
The Sony HMD1G Hi_MD minidisc is now a little bit more available

and is really a good idea. It is a major improvment on the

original minidiscs which only held 60 mins., 74mins., and 80mins.

The new one holds just under Eight (8) hours of music or data

when recorded in the standard play mode. Quite an accomplishment

for Sony. I have to agree with the other reviewer who opines that

Sony does not seem to be making a decent effort to "sell" their

product. IT is almost as if they want this format to go the way

of "BETA" or "DAT" One would think that Sony would want to

recoup the R+D money invested in this format. I personally think

that $6.98 for a disc that holds as much as this one does is

a great buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars HiMD-1G minidiscs
This product is in my Country and all Europe still 1/2 Year not aviable. And through Amazon.com also. Why ?
Be aware before you will buy Hi-MD Players !!!
And really rating is minus 5 stars.

Thank You

3-0 out of 5 stars Unobtanium...
I have been using a NE410 Net-MD walkman that I got from Walmart 6 months ago and I like the convinience and compactness of it, although it only holds 50 songs per disc with the LP4 codec. I got a NH600 HI-MD Walkman recently and this new technology makes soo much more sence. It can fit 300+ songs on one disc with the 64 Kbps ATRAC3plus codec (that's equal to 128 Kbps in MP3 quality). I can fit all 200+ of my CD's on 5 HI-MD discs.

The thing I don't like right now is that Sony, as usual sold millions of players, and only a small handfull of recordable discs for them, so you're stuck bidding on ebay, or waiting on backorder from the vendors. Plus the 10 pack of HI-MD discs are only sold in Canada, whats up with that? ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars not found problem yet

5-0 out of 5 stars Working Good for Me
First of all... the price and quality are superb.

I have owned mine for about nine months now enduring vacations in Austria and Mexico City.I have had absolutely no problems with my photos (regardless of the countless times I've erased single/all photos as well as formatted the card).

You will be pleased with this SD card.

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Lexar Media 256MB Secure Digital Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Treo 600 Essential

5-0 out of 5 stars 512Mb works fine in my computer
Purchased two 256Mb modules for a Gateway E-3400 SE (year:2001 / P3 930MHz / WinXP SP2). Just installed and everything is working. System Properties correctly show 512Mb.

Ordered with free shipping on Monday and received memory Wednesday!

2-0 out of 5 stars Worked fine--for three months
I installed one of these in my Dell Dimension 2300 to double the memory. It worked right away, which was great given the stick I bought from a local office supply place would not work. However, it went bad after three months of use.I called PNY and after a very lengthy telephone process, they gave me a merchandise return number, told me to send it in, and said they would send a replacement when they received it.Now, this memory has a lifetime warranty, but I am concerned that it went bad so quickly and that I have to foot the bill for send it in.Now, when we're talking about a relatively low-cost item, this can render the best warranty worthless. Most other companies I have dealt with long distance have gotten past the customer-pays-for-sending-the-lemon-back attitude, understanding that the attitude prompts people to stay local. So, these companies either (a) send out a replacement with a return shipping label or (b) tell you to toss the lemon, figuring that even if some people fib to get a replacement, they'll make up for it in customer loyalty.Though I'll get them to replace the bad stick, I'll never buy this brand again.

1-0 out of 5 stars Take your own risk with PNY memory stick
I received it within 24 hours of my purchase and appreciate for quick free shipment from amazon. However, when I installed it into the PC that stopped working right now, I did not see anything on the monitor. I had previous memory installation experience and it was easy. The memory was in the right place with the tabs/nothces were put together so it was placed correctly. I rebooted the PC but nothing happened. I tried 3 times without any success. At that time, I had noticed that that memory stick was very hot. Then I called to PNY tech support # provided on the package and that person told me that that memory I received from amazon was defective and return to amazon. It was OK to return the item but I could not reboot my PC. He told me to removed the battery from PC and unplugged it for 2+ hours to reset it. I waited 3 hours and put everything back and turn it on. Nothing happened. I called again to PNY tech support and waited 45min and they suddenly cut the line. I tried again and waited another 45 min and they cut the line again (I heard the ringing tone, then suddenly the line was cut off -- twice!!). I cannot wait another hour to be cut off again. It seemed like they are avoiding my call and they already knew that new PNY memory caused my other memory sticked burned. I saw little burned on (gold edges of the sticks) both my old memory stick and new PNY I purchased from amazon. My PC was not only unimproved with this new PNY memory, but I also lost my existing good memory stick (125MB). This meory stick is pretty expensive and I chose brand name expecting for better quality as well as improvement for my PC but now, I even lost my good one and cannot use my PC. You can't tell any difference for this PNY stick until you actually installed into your PC. Don't buy PNY for their quality uncontrolled and poor thech support. The automated voice will tell you check the problems in their website. How one can check when the PC was not working?? You have to wait hours to pass automated voices to get live support and wait more hours to get the live person if you're lucky. They don't hesitate to cut off your line anytime. Amazon should have negative stars and this PNY deserves neg stars.

Update: my PC is not working anymore and not repairable. PNY tech support supervisor told me he had to deal with a couple of similar problems per month (imagine how many people suffer the same problem with PNY's defective items) and nobody got compensation according to PNY policy. Never buy PNY products!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Works wonders!
I purchased this from Amazon a while back and I have always been meaning to upgrade my memory.I purchased a Compaq 5310US in December of 2001 and it was a little after the time that Windows XP was released, so hardware in computers was reliable, but not sufficient to what would be coming in the next few years.I have upgraded my Compaq PC to the hardware standards to this date. The last thing I did was upgrade the RAM in it.Once I installed it, turned on my machine.I immediately saw a difference.I noticed that boot times are quicker, desktop loading is quicker, and more programs can be run without computer slow-downs.

I recommend this if you are looking to start upgrading your computer.

5-0 out of 5 stars So far so good
I bought 2 of these PNY 256MB DIMM PC133 SDRAM to equal 512MB, hoping that my OLD system would recognize them. After reading all the reviews I was reluctant since my system is an old 900MHz PIII. My system did come with 128MB PC133 memory, however soon after I purchased the system I added 2 x 128MB, but they were PC100's. My system was running on 384MB and the PC100 was recognized in the BIOS. So just last week I decided to give these PNY 256MB DIMM PC133's a try, since the price was so low at $41 per.
To my satisfaction, my system recognized them and my memory BIOS reads PC133 at 640MB total, 2 x 256MB PC133 + 1 x 128MB PC133. I've noticed a significant speed enhancment, and so far I am happy. Should have done this a long time ago. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound for a low price!
I bought these a year ago, and wanted to give them some long term use before I wrote a review.

Everything others have written about the high quality sound is right on.I have noticed bits in songs that I couldn't hear before I got these. The sound is just fantastic, everything comes through nice and clear.I use these headphones for 2 things: playing games and listening to music on my computer, and listening to my portable cd player, and they work very well for both. One thing that I've noticed is that I can actually tell the difference between sound quality on winamp vs my cd player, and I didn't really notice it that much with my old 'phones.

A few other things:
Comfort: The headphones are a little snug when you first get them.A tiny bit tight even, I thought. But once I got used to them (about a week or so, I think), I had no problem at all wearing them for extended periods - 6+ hours at a stretch. They are not the least bit uncomfortable to me.The padding on the ear cups and headband is very soft and comfortable.I do have a hearing aid, and I was a little concerned when I saw the padding on the ear cups. The space your ear fits into looks a bit small. But I've had no problems there, they fit great and don't interfere with my hearing aid in any way.

Durability: I've had absolutely no problems with the plastic band cracking as a few others have reported.Granted, I try not to abuse them, but I do put them in a bag and take them to work, so they get bumped about a little bit.And after a year, they still look and sound like new.

Burning in: I noticed that they started to sound a lot better after they were "burned in" for a couple days.I've no idea what the principle behind this is, but there you go.They sounded ok when I first got them, but after about a week I started getting this amazingly clear and crisp sound from them.So burning them in definitely helps.

Noise blocking: I've listened to these at work where there's a huge amount of noise from the machinery, and I can still hear the music really well. They don't completely block out all sound, but I have no trouble hearing the music standing next to loud machinery (so loud that we're normally required to wear ear plugs).
One minor little quibble: I wish there was a volume control on the cord like I had on the last pair of headphones I owned. Then again, that was the first thing that went bad on the last pair so maybe those cord volume controls are susceptible to problems or something.

Summary:I listen to a wide variety of music: folk, pop, metal,
classical, etc, and everything I've listened to sounds really nice. These Sennheiser headphones are a great high quality product, especially for the price and I'd recommend them to anyone.I paid $80 for mine (new) on some online auction site, and you just can't get better sound for under $100.Even if they were $200, they'd still be worth it in my opinion.

3-0 out of 5 stars Bzzzzzzzzzzzz
The good first: nice sound, good lows, ok highs, nice isolation, if you're in a noisy environment.
The bads:
1. Hard to wear for more than an hour or so at a stretch (your mileage may vary, everybody has their own tolerance for this sort of thing)
2. VERY poor cable shielding (or something that behaves like that); any time I move the mouse on my computer, I can hear it: bzzzzz. I can hear moving graphics on the screen. OK, I guess, with an mp3 player, not so good with a computer (my use case).

My last senn's (490's) failed because of cable/plug problems; these seem to be less-than-ideal because of other cable problems. Sennheiser cables: not so good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Value forMoney for my Mini Home Theater
I bought these after lots or research after my Koss headphone broke (it served a good 10 yrs, and I thought the sound of the koss was great)

Once I burned in these headphones for 24 hrs, they just sound great. I actually hear new background sounds in Cd's and DVD's (which I have listened to over and over again) with these headphones (like most other people with these headphones)

Most of what I use it now is to watch movies from DVD's on my 17" apple powerbook in bed, and use a turtle beach USB sound card with that. The 5.1 sorround effect the sound card generates, along with this headphone and the video quality generated by 128 mb radeon 9700 graphics card is just astounding. (This combination have moved my movie watching to bed from the living room, where I have a samsung 50" DLP TV, progressive scan DVD player, and a bose lifestyle 3500 sound system.) The best thing with this headphone is, now me and my wife can watch movies with loud sound in bed, without our 1 yr old hearing anything about it. We both use headphones using a splitter.

After seeing my setup, 2 of my friends bought this headphone and both of them are quite happy about it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Very dissapointed with these phones
I ordered these headphones expecting Sennheisers smooth sound and comfortable fit. Needless to say I did not achieve either.
I read the reviews here and as I know headphone reviews are very subjective I gave them a try. I happen to own a pair of Sennheisers right now-a very old set that isn't produced anymore. I wanted an upgrade.
When I first received the phones I tried them immediately and I was shocked at how harsh they sounded. I forgave the fact that they were crushing my head since I felt I would be able to adjust them somewhat. Not so. I tried stretching them apart without breaking them but it didn't help much.
Since reading many reviews here suggesting breaking them in sound-wise I played a few CD's on an endless loop for many hours a day. To be honest they did improve somewhat. However, I didn't feel like waiting a month to decide whether they would improve enough to warrant the expense and I returned them.
I suggest these headphones for those with smallish heads, those who like a somewhat harsh, powerful sound, and those who don't like bass at all. I am not a big fan of booming bass but I could not detect any bass whatsoever from these phones, which is odd for a closed ear headphone.
I gave them 2 stars, even though i considered giving them 1 star, because they seem to be built quite well and headphones are very subjective as you can tell by the differing reviews here.
But what the heck, Amazon will take them back if you don't like them so tight fit, harsh sound, and lack of bass notwithstanding, give 'em a shot if you think they are up your alley.

4-0 out of 5 stars Incredible sound, cheesy plastic headband cover
I've had a pair of these beasts for more than two years now and I've never had a better set of 'phones sonically.

Like a number of other people, I find the plastic cover of the headband is cracking and shedding pieces to the point now where it looks like I use the headphones to drive nails.

Apparently the outer shell just does not flex enough and I do have a somewhat larger than average head. It's annoying and looks awful but until they actually fall apart I'll keep using them and then will probably buy another set.

Sonically, they are simply incredible.I use a small portable CD player and it drives them just fine, even on battery power.

The noise isolation is wonderful, I use these on airplane trips and most of the noise just vanishes, at home, I often don't hear the telephone ringing on the end table next to me and I don't listen to particularly loud music.I can enjoy quiet music while my wife watches TV 6' away and barely register that it is on.

Every time I play a CD for the first time using these 'phones, I am usually astounded, especialy if I've heard the music before on lesser systems. It's like hearing it for the first time. The depth and clarity simply delight me and I am constantly hearing new things or nuances in the music, even on discs I have heard a hundred tims before.

The bass is full and rich without sounding like you've plugged your speakers directly into a 60hz AC outlet. (Which seems to be a popular thing to do judging from what some people call "bass" but which is more like the sound made when a brontosauraus has really bad gas.)Highs are crisp and clear without sounding tinny or ringing and the soundstage is just right at least for me.

I use these primarly for classical, jazz and new age/ambient with occasional excursions into classic rock and they just simply work.I can't comment on how they sound with "rap" or similar noise as I only use these to listen to real music, not someone screaming vulgar words while thumping on a bass drum, but I digress.

If you want quality sound with great isolation, buy these, just don't wear them while bicycling or driving, OK?You won't hear the semi-truck coming through your windshield.;) ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Can Card be used with DS-2200 Digital Voice Recorder???
I am most likely going to purchase an Olympus DS-2200 Digital Voice Recorder, for doing audio History of many Seniors I know, and most likely, many I don't know yet.

It would be very helpful for me to know if this is compatible with the DS-2200.

The one review I did read, said that it took approximately 2-3 times longer to load into memory, in his Olympus Camera, so because I am still ignorant on this, I will possibly not buy this larger capacity card, before my fairly urgent purchase. (A 96 yr. old, extremely close friend, is likely, dying as I write this.

I will make one attempt to contact Olympus 1st.

If anyone knows the answer, please post it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Slow!
Although it's great that this card allows you to store so much information, it stores photos MUCH slower than the 16MB xD card that came with my camera. The camera is also made by Olympus (Camedia C-765UZ) so presumably there's no compatibility issue. I'd estimate that it takes two or three times as long to save to the 1GB card as to the 16MB, using identical camera settings. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good reader, design could be better
There are 4 small rubber feet providing a firm grip on any surface. However, when you open up the front door and angle it down (see customer photo from "programmer"), the rubber feet does not come in contact with the surface.

Pulling the door open requires some force, and unless you're careful, the door comes right off. It's simple enough to push it back, but it's a little frustrating.

If you have a laptop, get a CF to PCMCIA adapter instead since many notebooks come with the mini firewire (unpowered) port, and the firewire port is the only source of power for this reader.

The included firewire cable (3 ft long) is just barely long enough to reach from my computer's front firewire port (located near bottom of the case) to top of my table.

No CF eject button - seemed to be missing on just about all readers I've checked recently.

Minor rant : why print "Do not remove card if LED is blinking" at the bottom of the device? Doesn't it make more sense to print it near the LED?

As with all modern OS, no drivers are required. In fact, no software or driver is included.

Now, the most important part, speed. I'm getting slightly over 9 MB/s reading speed with Lexar 80x media. Compare this with around 6.5 MB/s on my fastest USB 2.0 reader (generic brand, ICSI IC1210 chipset). With another reader I only get 4.5 MB/s. The USB reader cost 1/3 the price, however, and reads multiple flash card types.

To put the read speed into perspective : you're saving almost 1.5 minutes on a 2 GB card. 45 seconds on a 1 GB card. Is it worth the time saved? Only you can decide. Do note that USB 2.0 card reader speeds are highly variable, and most of them either don't list their speed, or give you the useless "up to 480 Mbps" figure. The 6.5 MB/s figure I use for comparison is the fastest of the 5 readers I have.

I only know of one site that reviews speed of readers. I don't know what's the policy over posting URLs here, so if you're interested, google / a9 for "cardspeed card reader".

For its read performance alone, I'd rate it 4.5 stars. Since there's no 1/2 star, I feel it's closer to a 4 than 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth its weight in gold
Well, it doesn't really weigh very much ...but that's one of its features.

When I first opened the package, I thought this reader seemed a little cheap. The fact is, it's probably the best $40 I've ever spent. I used to download my photos directly from my camera. This drained my camera battery, required that I use the clunky Canon software, and ...took ........forever.

The Lexar reader pops up on my desktop as a drive. I can use photoshop's image browser to look at thumbnails and very quickly download the images I need. I don't have to plug it in to anything other than the computer. There's no wall-wart! I've put away the proprietary Canon-to-USB cable, and I'm no longer worried about using the USB jack so much that I end up breaking my camera's rubber door that covers the connector. The drive is so small and light that I keep it in my camera bag all the time.

WARNING: Because this drive gets its power from the firewire cable, you must have a standard 6-pin firewire port. Many laptops only have the tiny 4-pin type.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very fast
Transferring directly from my camera over USB 2.0 painfully took 10-15 seconds per image (6mp). With this card reader it takes significantly less than a second per image. The only thing I regret is not getting one sooner.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast and dependable.
This new Lexar firewire CompactFlash card reader is substantially faster than the older purple model. It is small, fast, and reliable.

I highly recommend it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast download to PC
This reader really shines with a fast card.I was able to transfer files from a full 1GB card (Lexar 80X) in 1 minute and 43 seconds.

The only issue I have with the reader is that it gets warm, much warmer than my older Sandisk USB reader.Even with no card attached, it's warm.I've made it a routine to remove the card as soon as the download is finished. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast and does what it should
A simple, cheap investment. This CF reader actually does what it should, i.e. transfer info from compact flash to the computer.Previous Kodak 1.0 multi-card reader had issues after a few weeks, and stopped working after 2 months. This one is much faster and is still working.Ahhhhhh

4-0 out of 5 stars fast
This reader is very fast - compared to my usb1 and non-cardbus pcmcia compact flash readers this one is about 4x (or more) as fast.It is small and compact, the only thing I don't like is the required USB cable (though it is included) instead of a built in USB plug - just one more thing to bring with my laptop.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the true entertainment and music fan.
Im going to break my review into about 3 categorites for what they can be used for.- 1.Music- These are very good for hard rock, metal and blues. If you're a big fan of rock music these are the headphones for you. When hooked up to mystereo I get great bass and when I hook them up to my DVD player to listen to cds through that I get the best treble and mid range. The way these sound all depends on the source. These will not sound very good if they're just plugged into a portable cd player or a 50 dollar boom box but if they're plugged into a great piece of equipment they sound absolutely fine.
2.Game systems and DVD players- These are also great headphones for the video game fan. I have a Nintendo Game Cube and a Game Boy Player and these headphones make me feel like drawn in and part of the game. These are great for games like Super Smash Bros Melee and Sonic Mega Collection. These are also good for watching movies. You dont miss any dialouge and you hear things from your DVD or video that you wouldn't normally notice just from your televisions speakers.
3.Price and comfort- These are probably the best deal for the money and you can wear them for hours. They also have a long cord that can reach anywhere in the room. They can easily be adjusted from 0 up to 10. The only real flaws are that they are a little bit hard to carry around on airplane flights and the padding will wear away after a while although they are still usable and sound just as good when this happens.
All in all if you're looking for a great pair of headphones to add a little life into your cd, video game and DVD collection you really can't go wrong especially at this price.Highly recommended and easy to find.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best I've ever had
I've been in the broadcasting business for over 15 years and these are the best headphones I've ever used.It took some convincing to invest in them, since I usually bought cheaper headphones. But the cheap ones last a few months, and the Sony MDR-V6s last years. You won't be sorry with this headphones!

3-0 out of 5 stars Sony MDR-V600 does not equal MDR-V6
I reckon about half of these reviews were meant for the MDR-V6, based people's description. The MDR-V6 is the one that is comparable to the mdr-7506, NOT the v600. If it werent for the blue "professional" sticker on the mdr-7506, most people would never know the difference between it and the v6.

And for the record the MDR-v600 is much bigger and bulkier than both the V6 and the mdr-7502. While it uses similar drivers, It has a huge earcup and large foam paddings that color the sound. Most noticeable is overbearing amount of bass this thing gives out, which drowns out the mids. This would account for some of muddiness that other reviewers have described. So how this headphone got to be called studio monitors is beyond me. This headphone is more like a pair of v6 that was modified to meet the mainstream demands of bassheads. Whreas v6 was half metal/half plastic, the v600 is all plastic.

If you want accurate sound, stick with the tried and true Sony models such as the v6 or 7502.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy Headphone with Great Sound
I used a pair of Sony V300 studio monitor headphones for about 2 years until they became unrepairable.I didn't realize that this was a blessing in disguise.I purchased the V600 headphones as a replacement since they addressed my greatest complaint with the V300s: ear compression.I use my headphones daily to listen to music while working in my cubicle. This amounts to at least 3 hours of use, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. That's at least 780 hours of use per year.I don't need my ears pressed up against my head by ill-fitting headphones. The V600s have a circum-aural design that encloses all but the largest of ears. They're comfy and sound super-fantastic.I love these headphones!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wicked Headphones! Wicked Sound! Audophile @heart!
I have been listening to music for many years. I listen mostly to rap, h&b, hip hop, and love watching movies and playing games with these headphones.

Just like everyone says, YOUR SOURCE MAKES A HUGE HUGE DIFFERENCE. You cannot honestly listen to a review when they are telling you they are driving these things with just their PC sound card or off of a portable CD player. However, with their sensitivity rating, you'll still punch out a lot of sound.

When I have these hooked up to my pioneer vsx 455 receiver, they literally shake off my head. I can feel the bass coming from them, no distortion at all. Ran some tests though, it doesn't really go down to 5Hz like it says. I can 'hear' down to around 20Hz running a sine wave through them. Below 20hz, I can somewhat *feel* the bass, since the headphones start to shake. Rock music is also very punchy, feels like your head is getting kicked on the side whenever you hit a punchy deep note. High's are nice and crisp, I can only hear up until around 17,000Hz or so,and avg human hearing is probably up to 16,000 or so. There is no muddyness, mid's are very nice as well.

If you are upgrading from cheap no name headphones that come with CD players these days, you'll be in for a nice treat. I love watching movies and DVD's with these, stick Intervideo DVD player into Dolby Headphone mode and it sounds pretty immersive.

If you aren't getting deep bass from these, it is most likely your source. For those that are interested for studio purposes, I highly recommend these. They mask outside noise nicely. The only minor complaint is that my ears do somewhat get sweaty if I leave them on for a long time. Other than that, they are extremely comfortable.

Happy Listening!

5-0 out of 5 stars solid quality. reasonably priced
What can you really say about a CD case? Well, for one thing, the price for these things have really come down over the years. I remember when a large capacity case such as this one used to cost up to 50 bucks(!), which, in my opinion, was way overpriced. I'm glad to see that the price has dropped to a reasonable level. I like this case. It's easy to retrieve and insert CDs from and back into the pages. The outside material feels better than the old- school faux leather. So, if you're in the market for a case to store all your freshly ripped music and flicks, this is a good choice for the frugal shoppers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Strong, Functional and Excellent value for money.
This review is about the Fellowes 224 CD Wallet.

Having had the product for a few days now and having organized about a 100+ Audio CDs, 10 to 15 DVDs, Home Videos, Software and Driver CDs, etc. In all about a couple of hundred discs, here's what I think of the product.

Pros:
Good quality material and excellent construction quality makes this a very strong CD wallet. The carrying handle and the attached CD wipe cloth are neat touches. The CD wallet has strong, hard frame forming the face, back and spine of the wallet, giving an all around rigidity to the wallet. The CD sleeve pages have a capacity of 8 discs (4 on each side) and are sewn onto the spine of the wallet. The quality of the sewing is very robust and the pages can easily take the weight of 8 discs. Each disc sleeve has a cut (unlike the older Fellowes model) from the center to the top of the sleeve making removal of the discs very easy. The back of the sleeve that will be in contact with the face of the disc is soft enough. Each disc fits snugly into the sleeve and I doubt whether any discs would fall off easily regardless of the orientation of the wallet. This is a very nice touch because it's very normal that the orientation of the wallet changes planes quite a lot during handling and last thing one would want is having to put back all the discs. The zipper operates pretty smoothly. Looks wise, this wallet is not bad either, the strong frame giving a nice shape to the wallet and a nice texture to the nylon.

Cons or Areas for Improvement.
In my case I identified five different categories ofdiscs - movies, home videos/photo discs, music, software, toddler play and learn. So I started organizing movies from the front and music from the back in one wallet. In the other I started home videos/photo CD from the front and software, toddler play and learn from the back. Unfortunately, I didn't have any way of indexing these built into the CD wallet. A big see thru plastic sleeve (that would take an A4 size print of an index I could maintain) would be a great addition. It would be great if the sleeves were numbered (just like a phone diary) which would help in indexing. A zippered page at the end with one big empty pocket would be great value add that would take all the folds, prints, literature that comes with some discs. Maybe a felt tip pen holder would do too! The zipper of the wallet does not open completely preventing the wallet from opening up completely. Though this might be intentional so as to prevent the two sides from opening up completely (the sides do open up to an angle of about 160 degrees which is good enough), but this did at time brought some extra pressure on the zipper wherein the two sides pulled on the slider at the end. Last but not the least, it would have been a great help if the outside of the CD wallet had small see thru pockets for case labeling. In my case, since both look the same, it was difficult to identify which wallet contains what. Pasted a stick on label and problem solved, but could do with something more permanent.

Concluding, let me again emphasize that this is indeed a durable and very functional CD wallet at a very attractive price-point (I got on sale)

3-0 out of 5 stars good for the price
I really needed some more caselogics, but they aren't always on sale. So I decided to go with Fellowes for a try. Thank god they have redesigned this! The old style of the disc sleeve used to have a slit down the center to slide discs out. Many people hated this, and I guess Fellowes realized. You can still see the old design on amazon's pic. The new design is about the same as caselogic, but the mouth is slight wider. My only concern is the plastic sleeve is not as thick as caselogics, but for the price, who cares. I'm gonna use this to hold my old discs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great way to organize your CD/DVD Collection
This organizer is probably one of the better constructed ones on the market. True, it is not the best looking and at times even feels poorly built, but it holds up pretty well.

I prefer this organizer because of its binding. Organizers with riveted, ring-binder style binding, etc. tend to give way very quickly. Fellowes bindings have multiple points of contact and are very durable.

Another important thing for me is access to my media. I hate badly designed organizers, whose zippers sratch my media while trying to remove or put media back. This organizer has been designed to permit the least amount of interference.

For those who need more assurance, Fellowes makes all (gorgeous!) CD organizers for Body Glove.

One star for the blandness in looks and the not-so-tough "looking" zipper...I prefer the Body Glove zippers.

3-0 out of 5 stars works, but looks and feels cheap
This works for the intended purpose, but the CaseLogic version also works and also looks and feels better. This one from Fellowes just feels a little "homemade" somehow. Not that it isn't durable; I think it is.It just seems cheaper than the alternatives. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars worst choice of my life
Bought this a month ago for use with my DX4330 kodak 3MP digital camera. It worked for 2 days. After that, everytime I on the camera, it wanted me to reformat the card,WTH is that?
Now I can't use it at all....
I'm always so confidence with my previous purchases from Amazon. One mistake I made,I threw away the shipping and product packages once I tested out the card, thought It worked and It would be OK.I can no longer return it now.
Needless to say,I'm too over confident with LEXAR's products.
Buyers beware....

2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with SD Audio
As the other reviewer found out, these cards can't be formatted to work with SD Audio.Total waste of money.

2-0 out of 5 stars Compatible?
I am sure this product works wonderfully with most devices, however, with my Panasonic SV-SD80 MP3 player, this product was not compatible.I could still transfer files to it but it could not be formatted to SD Audio support.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Performs
With my five megapixel Leica Digilux 2, this Lexar one gigabyte SD card will give me 244 color photographs at the highest-quality jpeg setting! That's equivalent to ten rolls of 35mm film. The write time is (to me) quite fast, so it really performs. So far, I have not encountered any problems with this SD card. And if it stays that way, I'll get another one.

5-0 out of 5 stars I like it
If you snap shots in burst mode, or if you want to take pictures at sporting events, fast cards like those are the way to go.
Almost no lag, large capacity, lifetime warranty, no complaints. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars unwearable
These things work fine, so long as you wear them. And there's the rub: the earpieces are so small, and they put so much pressure on the outer ear, that the pain became unbearable (at least for me) after an hour or two. They stayed in my brief case for the remainder of the flight to Tokyo, as the airplane noise was, without question, the lesser of the two evils.Maybe this wouldn't have been a problem if my ears were the size of a nine-year-old's...

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing performance
Maybe my expectation was too high. I wasn't impressed at all by its noise reduction performance during the flight from Boston to Denver on B-737.

I'll try a brand new set of battery on the next flight.

Up-date:
I tried it again with a brand new set of AAA batteries; flight from Logan to BWI on B-717. Noise reduction only slightly better than last time. It seems that the noise reduction frequency band is too narrow (low frequency only).

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the Bose...
....these are actually a good value!!
I've had these for a couple weeks now and finally got to test in a variety of conditions on a variety of equipment.I never got around to testing them on my main stereo system, but I figure its unlikely anyone is buying these for there main system anyway so here it is:
Equipment tested with:
Systemax pc with integrated sound card
old systemax with an Audigy card
variety of laptops including acer and compac
Ilo mp3 player
1st gen sony car discman
I have to say many of the reviews on here must have been by people who took them out of the box put them on for 5 minutes and decided the world should hear what they have to say regardless of accuracy. My first listen was in a room with 3 servers and 3 pcs running, they did a nice job of canceling out the noise but the bass was thin and the upper ends sounded pinched off.The phone started ringing so I set them down and left the music on to break em in a bit. After about 5 hours I put them on and gave a serious listen, the bass sounded much better and the higher end much more natural.
On the plane they reduced the noise quite a bit, but it was still audible, Really not a problem, I believe they perform as advertised. Contrary to many reviews, JVC says noise is reduced by 12 db at 300hz, not 90% of the audio spectrum. It really makes the flight much more enjoyable, I picked a seat in the back of the plane since that tends to be noisiest on the little commuter jets and they passed my test, which is my ears arent ringing.I'm not a good judge of haedphone comfort because I tend to hate all phones, but these are ok.I can wear em for 30 minutes or so without readjusting.the top band could use a little pad but that should be easily fixed.
They do introduce noise if you turn them on in a quiet room, but that begs the ?, why are you turning them on?With background noise overall sound is reduced and thats the point. They perform quite nicely without the NC on.They are incredibly easy to drive, my ilo player (which the biggest complaint is lack of volume if you read reviews) drives them easily, and I'm currently listening to them on my discman on the "min" volume setting.Do not plug them into anything without turning the volume down, unless of course you like pain.
If your never going to listen to anything besides 128 kbs mp3's these provide all the sound quality you need to be happy. They are good enough for the critical ear to enjoy them, and to appreciate better sources without being so detailed that bad/low res recordings are annoying.
The cord does feel flimsy but snags should be minimal since you only pull out what you need.Mine have about 10 hours so far on the battery and its still kicking, and they seem to get more comfy as the foam in the pads wears in.I really havent noticed the differential in sides, I would send em back if you experiance that and try a different pair.
These are a really good buy, but if you have to spend more get the sennheisers, at least they dont need separate eq'ing to sound good unlike another brand commonly mentioned. If you gotta have the best and have 299 to blow then get some noisebuster's for the plane and a pair of Grado's for home/hotel, and still have enough leftover for 8-9 cds!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disppointing for the price.
1.Good headphones need to do physical noise reduction as well as noise cancellation.Although these cover you ear, the cans are hollow - I could hear people around me talking even with music playing. Also air blowing on the outside of the headphones (from the aircraft ventilation system was clearly audible).
2.The top piece hurt the top of my head (if you have hair up there, you might fare better).
3.On a Boeing 777, they didn't work at all. They worked o.k. on an A319, a 737, and my laptop, however. On the 777, I got about 1 second of sound and then nothing. I think the new Boeing digital sound system didn't like them electrically (perhaps the impedance is too high or too low) and simply shut down. The United airlines supplied (cheap) headphones and another brand I had with me worked just fine on the 777, but not these.
4.I compared them with a pair of Heil Sound QuietPhones (http://www.heilsound.com/amateur/quiet_phone.htm) and the Heil phones (at $99 list) did a far superior job of noise reduction. Bob Heil, by the way, was the man who built the wall of sound for the Grateful Dead -- he knows audio.
5.I agree that the Bose headphones are horribly overpriced, but this set just doesn't make it.Look for something in the midrange (around $100) and you'll be happier.

2-0 out of 5 stars Noise reduction effective, but...
These comments are in the past tense, as are the headphones. But first the good news.

--- Positive

* The noise reduction was good.Having been warned not to expect miracles, my expectations were close to how they performed.

* The retractable cord was convenient.

* They were comfortable.Unlike others reviewers, I had neither ear nor top band (despite the lack of hair) discomfort.

-- So-so

* The audio quality was adequate, but wouldn't be your first choice if noise cancellation wasn't needed.

-- Negative

* The two sides produced different effects (verified by reversing the them).Several others also reported this.I found it quite irritating every time I put them on, but after a few minutes I accomodated.

* They stopped working after 4 hours!Actually, they simply stopped passing any input signal, but the noise cancellation continued to work.I had been very careful with them so it wasn't an abuse problem. The noise cancellation was good enough that I wore them for another 14 hours of flying, while reading and watching silent movies.More relaxing, but with plenty of time to build up some bad feelings about them.

I had paid more than I should have (why didn't I look on Amazon first?), but I got a full refund.Long flights were less tiring, so I'm gong to replace them with some, as yet undetermined, brand. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast SD card for my digital camera
I bought this SD card and took some 100 snaps out of it.The card is really fast with my canon A510 camera.Reading takes a slightly longer time than writing.I would recommend this card to anyone.Actually this card outperforms the 16MB MMC supplied with the camera. Also the 256MB card will hold upto 200 (may be lesser) 3.2MP pictures.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great card from a reliable company
I got this 256 MB card for an HP 49G+ calculator.I have had it for about a month, and it fast and reliable. This is my second card from SimpleTech, the 1st being a 1 GB CF card that I purchased for an A95 Canon Digital Camera. Both cards works flawlessly, and I would definitely buy again from SimpleTech if they continue to be a reputable company.

The SimpleTech STI-SD/256 256MB SecureDigital Card SD, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excelent little gem!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars For D-CAM user/SPEAD is EVERYTHING
WHEN THE WRITINH/READING SPEEP DOSE MATTER TO YOU

5-0 out of 5 stars less expensive than some, works as advertised.
i'm using this with an canon optura 500 on a desktop pc running windows xp.it works without a hitch (as it's supposed to of course).

the price is competitive, don't get a very expensive cable, it's more of a gimmick than a performance gain.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great looking cable
