2-0 out of 5 stars Great concept but there are stability issues
The 128 and 256 meg seems to work better and be more stable than the larger formats. I've been having troubles with the 1024 and 512 being recognized by devices.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lot of memory in a small package.
I bought the SanDisk 1 GB card for my Kodak 5 megapixel camera. The 32 megs that come in the camera left me with a full memory, so I wanted more. It arrived quickly and installed easily.I'm amazed at how small a gig of memory is these days.My Kodak Dx7590 camera says that it has room for 632 pictures at the 5 megapixel maximum setting. At the 1.8 megapixel setting it says that I can shoot 1,554 pictures before running out of memory.Either of those is way more than I've had a chance to use before returning home and downloading them to my PC.

I got the 1gb after comparing all the smaller ones.I did think about buying two or four smaller SD cards instead of the larger one.Now I'm glad to have the whole gig of memory instead of two or three smaller ones.I don't have to carry the extras cards and open the camera in rain or dust.

I did some comparison shopping on e-bay and elsewhere and found that the Amazon price, including shipping, was equal or less and it wasn't from some vendor I've never heard of.If you have a camera or other product that takes the SD cards, the price is hard to beat and the convenience of a lot of memory is very nice.As the old computer pros say, "you can never have too much memory."

4-0 out of 5 stars good card 16x
got three for 96 from dell on a price mistake.great cards, not very fast but good for my use in a RAVE-MP 256 player.I checked the speed on this, it is 16x, good enough for most uses.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works well
I have two of these. Both have worked well for about 3 months.Sandisk is the brand since they are for co-inventor of this standard.

1-0 out of 5 stars Died after one month
Worked fine for one month, it is now unrecognizable by all devices I have tried it in.Lost data.I have read similar reports about other Sandisk SD cards. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Speed
It has worked great with my Nikon D70. I fully recommend this card after owning 5 CF cards of 5 different companies, including Lexar, Canon-branded, and SimpleTech.

This is a great card and I would purchase it again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Must Keep the Camera On to Save Images
I've known and happily used SanDisk CF cards before, high quality, good price. This Ultra II card comes with some worries.Since CF doesn't write at 9MB/sec, it uses a "buffer" to write a small amount (like 4 megs) to an ultra-fast buffer, then the image is slowly transferred to the main card. And there's the problem.

I lost every "last image" on my trip to Italy. When I powered on the camera, took say 5 pictures, it would record 4 and lose the last image. This is because I was turning the camera off after taking the 5th picture.I needed to leave the camera on another 20 seconds to be sure the memory card finished transfer of the images. So it's very fast, for a small burst of pictures, but LEAVE THE CAMERA ON.I did a lot of "that's cool!" pictures... you turn the camera on, take a picture, turn the camera off to save battery life.Mistake.Make sure you REVIEW the images (and not just the temporary image displayed after the picture is taken) before POWERING DOWN.

5-0 out of 5 stars First CF Card
I got lucky! After purchasing a Rebel XT, I wanted a CF card that was roomy and priced right. AT the time and place, the Sandisk Ultra II 1GB was the ticket. I was not well versed with the different write/read speads of different CF cards. The Rebel XT specs indicate 3 FPS up to 14 pictures. In high resolution JPEG mode (no RAW), my rebel XT never stopped to wait for an image to be written to the Ultra II CF card. I'm guessing I could've held the shutter release and kept on going 'til the card was full.

Take the time to read the other reviews by individuals who've done their research and are more experienced. I'm convinced based on personal experience and reading about others' and will continue to purchase additional Sandisk Ultra II 1GB CF cards. Right now I need more batteries!

5-0 out of 5 stars Card speed vs camera buffer dump speeds.
I've done a little research trying to find the best cf card for my Canon Digital Rebel XT.Scandisk has a new series of cards called Ultra III, with 20mb/sec speeds.Just because the card is fast can my camera take advantage of the speed? In my case not really. My camera dumps at about 6MB/Sec with most of the faster cards.I currently have the Lexar 80x 2Gig card, and have not had many problems other than a corrupt file every 1000 shots or so.My Canon does not take advantage of Lexars Write Acceleration, but I didn't find out until searching for another card. Here is a link to the test results I found.http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007 .

5-0 out of 5 stars A solid performer.A must for the digital photographer.
One of the great things about the digital age is that the cost per megabyte of memory storage is in continuous decline. Here, we can all reap the advantage of this technological bounty--the SanDisk 1GB Ultra II CF card is a really nice product.I can use it in either my Nikon D100 or my Canon S50 (compact) cameras, and take hundreds of pictures before downloading the card to my laptop computer.

The card is very fast, so much so that the write speed simply is not noticeable most of the time (when it is that is more an issue of my D100's slow write time for RAW photos than it is with the Ultra II).Owning the Ultra II has really made digital photography a pleasure; typically I can shoot all day without having to worry about switching CF cards or emptying the contents of the card to the laptop. This is digital photography as it was meant to be.

A solid product that performs very well. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Sandisk SD 512 crashes camera and computer
I have a Pentax digital camera and a Scandisk card reader on my computer.I bought a 512 mb Sandisk SD card and it worked fine for about a year. But one day it crashed my camera to the extent that I couldn't turn the camera off, and I thought the camera was broken. When I tried to read the card in the card reader, it crashed my computer (when I removed the card from the readerWindows came back). When I put a different brand card in the camera, it came back to life, good as new.DON'T BUY SCANDISK!

5-0 out of 5 stars long time
This gives me like 2 hours of movie in my 2.1 camera. Works and copies fast to my laptop.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Card!
I've really enjoyed the card so far. It worked great the first time I put it in my Kodak digital camera and I took 738 pictures the next week when I visited New York City. I'm very impressed and excited about using it for a long time like my two-year old 64 MB Sandisk card.

4-0 out of 5 stars Card Works Great....Most of the Time!
SanDisk makes really great SD cards, however, these 512mb's have given me the most trouble out of all of them. Most of the time, transfer is quick and easy for any file. I can put a file on the card and take it off at anytime. However, every once and a while, especially on cameras, the file almost seems to become corrupt. This problem actually happens on the card, for I have conducted numerous tests, all showing that the card messes up the file. It really only happens once in a blue moon, but when it does, it's quite a hinderance. Regaurdless of the fact, SanDisk really makes the most reliable products and at a good price, so if you are looking for a nice sized SD card, this is probably the way to go! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
This high quality memory is made by Toshiba in Japan (and is not Chinese junk like some manufacturer's SD memory cards). No problems whatever.

I use this for my Canon sd300 camera and so far I have no issues with this card.It is fast when taking and downloading pictures and when deleting pictures that you just took. For the price this is a really great card (the best value out there) and I am definately going to get another one thanks to the great deals with the rebates.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works as expected
I've owned this memory card for about 2 1/2 months now and taken around 100-150 pictures split up between about 5 or 6 different transfers to my computer.I'm using it on a Canon SD200 camera.

I have had no errors, the pictures store and transfer as fast or faster than the factory 16MB card that came with my camera.

    So far so good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatmemory card & great price.
I'm already using an identical card in my Canon Digital Rebel. Ordered this one as a second card & back up. I paid $59.95 at CompUSA, plus sales tax. This one from Amazon.com comes out to be $34.95 (with rebate). No shipping, no tax. Card works great. Fast and reliable. Another reviewer is right...with a $1000 camera why would anyone get a "cheap" off-brand memory card?

5-0 out of 5 stars Good price; fast write speed; no trouble
I haven't had this card long, but I've been very pleased with its performance.I have a Canon S10 IS.This particular camera takes very good movie clips--approaching that of DVD.This card keeps upwith all that information as the movie clip is being taken, and finishes up very quickly when you stop recording. It, of course, performs well taking pictures, too.The short story is: I've been pleased with the Ultra II and like to think it's worth the extra money.

5-0 out of 5 stars don't forget to backup your camera
The Ultra II CF card is a great product, but with all microelectronics there will always be the possibility of a DOA, or catastrophic crash when you least expect it.Yet we see these painful reports about people who've "lost all the pictures from the trip of a lifetime, and it's all SanDisk's fault!"

Hey, it's a computer!Back it up!If you can afford the high end digital camera and the ticket to Paris, you can afford something like the EZDigiMagic 20GB backup device that fits in the palm of your hand and lets you save your stuff whenever you want. And voila, your life won't be ruined again!

1-0 out of 5 stars Totally disappointed
I brought the card brand new, used it less than 5 times and it died during my own wedding.

To make it even worse, pictures were not recoverable.

    My tips:
*Think twice when buying this card
*Buy couple small cards (say 256Mb)instead of one big card.

2-0 out of 5 stars Your reader may not work with this card!
I purchased this card for use with my Canon Digital Rebel.I had been told by other digital SLR users that they did not notice an increase in performance with the high speed cards and I now must agree with them. This Ultra II card does not work any faster and does not impact my camera performance under normal picture taking because my camera buffers images. The only time that I can foresee an advantage would be during rapid picture taking, but how often does the average photographer do that?

The BIG DISADVANTAGE is if you want to use this card with your existing card reader.I tried using the Ultra II card with my card reader and ran into trouble when I tried to read or to write to the card. The computer either reported I/O errors or the process took a minute per image. Not exactly the blazing speeds which were promised.I contacted Sandisk about the problem and they told me that Ultra II cards will not work with older readers including older Sandisk readers. If you want to use this card, you need a new reader. This is a big disadvantage for someone like myself who travels a lot and counts on using internet cafes to transfer images to CD's to clean space on the compactflash cards while traveling.I dont have a choice of which reader the internet cafe uses and therefore, I may not be able to use this card while on the road.

I also notice no significant difference in speeds when downloading from my camera via a USB connection. This may be because I am not using USB 2.0.

In summary, this card is not worth the extra expense if you do not have a brand new reader using USB 2.0.If you have an older reader, you will need to upgrade to a new reader that can work with Ultra II (I am sure that Sandisk will happily sell you one.)For my money, I will stick with Viking compactflash rather than to ever purchase another Ultra II.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke and up the creek with no warranty...
I bought one of these when I bought my Canon s70 less than two months ago. The card has rolled over and died on me. I went to the retailer and they said that the defect is a manufacturer issue. We went to the packaging for warranty details and there is NO warranty listed on the packaging other that it is warranted to work (fit) in compactflash cameras. The brand of card next to it on the shelf (Kodak) had a 5 year warranty for functionality.

    Nextime is Kodak for me

1-0 out of 5 stars Defective Card
I had ordered a Cannon s500 a week before I went on vacation and after receiving the camera I decided I needed more than a 32 meg card for my trip.I read several reviews of cards on amazon and for the most part had the impression that Sandisk, though an off brand, made decent and reliable cards.Due to time constraints I purchased this model at a local Best Buy and left for a weekend of relaxation and enjoyment. My first night on vacation after taking a few pictures my camera gave me a weird Memory Error message.I couldn't change from capture mode to view mode to delete/format the memory card, in fact I couldn't even power the camera down.I had to remove the battery to get it to turn off. After messing with it for several minutes, removing the memory card and seeing how the camera functioned minus the card I realized the card was jacked and causing my camera to malfunction. Thus, I was unable to take pictures during my entire vacation.Needless to say, I WAS LIVID because I was on an island and there weren't any Best Buys around to return the card and get a new one.As a result, I felt I had to post here on this review section and say DO NOT BUY THIS COMPANY'S PRODUCTS!I'm now ordering a Kingston version of this card in hopes that a brand name will provided a better quality product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fine for consumer digicams
This is a good card for virtually all Point and Shoot consumer digital cameras. If you are using a Digital SLR, then you need a faster card, say the Sandisk Ultra II. The write speed is a little slow, but that shouldn't be a problem for all but a few select digital cameras. For most people, 512M should be more than enough. Depending on your camera, you could get 300-400 pictures.

This is my first CF card, as I've used SD cards for a couple of years on another camera. I'm not wild about CF, but that's the format of my equipment. I think Sandisk cards are as good a brand as you can buy, but just know their limitations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent price for the storage, but a little slow
I upgraded to this card from a 128MB SanDisk card to use with my Canon Powershot G6. The card is definitely worth it for the money, but if you plan to use it long-term, I would suggest shelling out the extra dollars and going with the Ultra II model. When uploading images, there will be a noticeable difference in speed. If you're an amateur photographer just looking for extra storage, or a person who doesn't mind waiting a little longer in exchange for saving a bit of money, this card can definitely get you by.

5-0 out of 5 stars Recommended
I own a Canon S400, and between this card and my lexar high speed card, there is no noticable difference in speed. I would recommend this card for any general user with devices that use CF. A great price from a great media maker. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I'm about to buy it but still unsure....
Sorry , this is not a review but rather a question and not even about the product itself....
Most reviewer talk about how good the Sandisk 1Giga Pro Duo works in their PSP.....
Not being an American and not knowing all the techno lingo , please , can anyone tell me what a PSP is ...? ( something to do with the Play Station..?? )
I just bought the Sony DSC T 33 today and as I'm going on a wild trip very soon I need to buy enough memory so I can shoot all the pics I want. This 1 Giga Memory Stick Pro Duo has the best
price-MB relation , the 1 Giga Sony Red Memo Stick Pro Duo I want is not available and heaven knows when it will be .... So....
Lexar has no 1 Giga , so there's no big choice....
Either Sandisk for U$ 119.88 or the Sony for US 367.00 or so.....
Well... anyone can still tell me what a PSP is...? I'm going to buy this Sandisk Memo Stick right now.....

5-0 out of 5 stars No PSP should be without it.
This is just the thing you need to get the most out of your PSP. I already have quite a few videos and mp3's on my1GB PSP memory stick pro duo and their is still room for more! It's worth every penny. The 512MB is around 80 bucks, so fo just 40 more dollars save some cash and get twice the size. You won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, recommend to everyone
It's the perfect stick. It's the same as the special "Yellow" one, but it's cheaper, and comes with an adapter. You have to use the adapter with most memory card readers, since they don't usually read the memory stick duo sized chips. But I've put it into 3 seperate readers, and they all worked. I have not tried this chip in my digital camera which takes Memory Stick Pro media (the larger one) but Sony says it should work.

A previous reviewers said it was incompatible, but Sony says it will work in any device which supports Memory Stick Pro or Memory Stick Pro Duo. It is incompatible with Memory Stick devices (without the Pro or Duo in their names).

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great!!
Despite what the other review says i have had no problems transfering data using my built in card reader in my Sony Vaio.Good price, comes with the Standard Memory Stick adapter.Works great with PSP.

3-0 out of 5 stars Uncompatible
Yes it is a great bargain for the MB versus dollars, but it is not 100% compatible with all Pro-devices.Unable to download or move files via the MemoryStick Pro slot on the Vaio Sony computer. The only way I can download is to have the memory-stick in a device such as PSP or camera and then move the files via USB.Not an efficient way nor convenient way since it would be easier to use the memory-stick slot. What is the slot for anyway then?It works with all my other memory sticks, but not his one.Manufacturer (SanDisk) not any help at this time and too costly to send back. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Missing the point
The xd card is a great addition to digital photography in that it offers lots of storage in a very small form factor...hence smaller and lighter digital cameras. The xd picture cards are as fast or faster than other formats. Added to this, the Olympus picture card allows those who use the Camedia software from Olympus to stitch together several separate shots and make them into fantastic panoramas. Note that only the Olympus cards allow this feature to be used. As far as the "oh, no, another different memory card" people are concerned, I think they miss the whole point. It is not a matter of another format, as much as it is a reflection of new technology arriving on the scene. Of course, they will have to convert over to the xd card format if they want to utilize the new tech, but why cry about it? New tech will always leave people behind who refuse to 'get with the program'. The arguments for not being happy about new tech is as old as the people who once complained about flying machines not being meant for humans.

As far as the negatives of the Olympus XD card, the primary one is the cost. It is more expensive than its competitors, but as with all electronic items, this too will pass and the items will become cheaper. As for all the complainers, if you don't like the new format, then *don't buy it*! As for the rest of us, we'll go on our merry way enjoying the benefits of the new xd card.

4-0 out of 5 stars Only Olympus cards support Panorama feature
If you are interested in Panorama feature which is available in many Olympus digital cameras..make sure you buy "Olympus xD card".
Do not buy Fujifilm or Lexar or other brand.
All Olympus Xd Card covers have BOLD letter stating "Supports Panorama". Make sure you check that before buying a xD-card.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great card
I bought this card as the 16 MB card included with my camera was really not worth using.I have used this card EXTENSIVELY and never had a problem. It writes quickly, transfers quickly and produces top notch images.Highly recommend - it is better than the Fuji xD card.

4-0 out of 5 stars Initial access speed slow?
I picked up one of these a few weeks ago to complement my 128mb and 64mb cards. The first thing I notice is it takes longer for the camera (Olympus C-60) to ready itself to shoot when using the 256 card instead of the 128s or 64s.This has caused me to miss a few shots already. While it's nice to be able to take 175 HQ shots without having to change the card, I'm not sure how I feel about the tradeoff with that initial access speed.I've taken to leaving the camera open to avoid it, which runs the battery down faster.

5-0 out of 5 stars Much Quicker performance than I had anticipated,,,
Having had some experience with 256M FlashCards, I was about to turn this card down & just buy a 128M card (adding another one if I needed more capacity), but the salesperson convinced me to take this one. While not as seamless & perfect as film cameras, I was pleasantly surprised by the ubwexpected speed of this card. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Explanation of PRO and MagiGate!!!
I have been reading the reviews and am surprised at the misinformed statements contained. First off, Memorystick Pro is a newer format that regular memorystick which has differences in access times and overall capacity. Regular memorysticks are limited to 128 MB and are slower than the Pro variety which goes to 2GB. The Memorystick Select is 2 128 MB memorysticks combined into one and divided by a switch. The reason it exists was to raise the limit on memorysticks but it has the drawback that you have to take the memorystick out and move the switch to access the other half of the memory on the card. Newer Clies and cameras accept the Pro Memorystick but earlier units can not use them. The way to know is on the unit itself. Both my camera and my Clie accept the Pro variety.

Now onto MagiGate, it is a security format needed for storing Music in ATRAC format. This proprietary format is according to some sources the format music on MiniDiscs is. Now for a camera, MagiGate does not make a difference but on a Clie for Music MagiGate is probably better so you can take advantage of this format without sacrificing the ability to save files in MP3 format.

Now onto the size and price considerations. At the moment the difference in price from 128 MB to 256 MB is less than between a 256 and a 512. By this I mean 2 times the price of 128 is significantly more than the price for 1 256 while the price of 2 256 is a lot closer the the price of 512. For me this means the most adecuately priced is the 256 MB.

5-0 out of 5 stars Decently Priced and No Switching Nonsense
Yes, a little on the expensive side, but compared to Sony and Lexar, it's still cheaper.

I almost bought a regular memory stick, which would've required me to flip a small switch once I used up 128 mb (my parents have old folks' vision, and the switching would've driven them nuts). This Memory Stick Pro does not require any switching nonsense, making it very convenient to use.

I haven't had any problems with my purchase. It is also compatible with Sony LCD TVs that contain a port for Memory Sticks.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great low cost solution
This memory card is reliable and it's a perfect fit for my Sony 5.1 Megapixel Cybershot DSC-P93A.

On my camera, you can store the following number of images:5MP = 98, 3MP = 158, 1MP = 380, VGA = 1520.This is significantly more than you can get on the card that comes with the camera (32MB).

The prices vary wildly for this item. Not knowing any better, the week that I bought my camer, I purchased three of these cards for; $57, $47 and $37 respectively.Be sure to price shop before you buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Reliable and cheap
This Sandisk 256MB Memory Stick flash memory card is reliable and it's a perfect fit for the latest Sony digital cameras and Clie handhelds.Sandisk designs their own memory controller circuits and they are good at making the Memory Stick compatible with all new Sony products. As long as you don't drop this or soak it in water (why would you do that?), you should expect many years of solid service out of this.

BTW, you shouldn't be paying more than $40 for this, and as of today (1/3/05) Amazon has the best price.Shop around if Amazon price goes above $40 (before rebate).

The Sandisk 512MB Memory Stick Pro flash card is also good, although some Sony products may not be able to use all 512MB.Check your Sony manual before you buy.Good thing Amazon does offer a 30-day money back guarantee.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but very expensive product
I had recieved for the holidays a Sony Cybershot Digital Camera (DSC-P73), which did come with a 16MB memory stick. The 16MB memory stick would be nice for low reslution pics and vids, but I personality enjoy full screen, and the 16MB is clearly not enough. So, I also recieved this as a gift. I'm glad I didn't get anything smaller, because there wouldn't be enough to hold enough. If I got something bigger, it would be much to expensive, and I would be wasting money for a bunch of space I didn't use and never would use. With this, it gives a good amount of pics capacity and you can film about 11 minutes on the 640 standard version. Though, this is not a very big memory stick such as the 512MB, it does cost a lot of $$. Also, Sony and Sandisk try to push you into buying it because of some Magicgate thing. Magicgate is not a befenit or a letdown, it's just a camera supporter. Also, the memory stick is NOT PRO. All memory stick are the same and the only difference between any of them would be the size capacity. So, go ahead and buy this memory stick, considering you will probably need it on the long run if you are into high resolution, but remember that Magicgate and Memory Stick Pro are things to convince you to buy it and really have no difference whatsoever. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Can you say SLOW.
One word to describe the Viking 256 MB Secure Digital Flash Card is SLOW. I used it for my Kodak Easy Share camera and it will not stay in the little slot it is suppose to. I've tried it in different cameras and have the same problems. Did I say it was slow?

3-0 out of 5 stars S......L.......O.......Wto write but read is great
I'm using the viking 256MB for a Palm T|T.It takes for ever to write such a 1MB file will take over 5 minutes.I've had to cancel saving MP3 files (~5MB) on the card since I couldn't wait after 10 minutes. You get what you pay for. However, I gave it an average rating since the reading capability is definitely faster. So if cost is a factor and you don't mind waiting then get this before the rebate is over.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price
This is a great :Value for money card- I am using it with my Canon Powershot A510 and it is slightly slow but nothing that I didnt expect. Decent read and write speed and good storage capability!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply a good SD card with a great price.
At first, I am skeptical with the brand since I'm usually using SD card made by either SanDisk or Lexar. But it turned out this brand work quite well. I am using this SD card for my Canon SD110. Already a good price after 75% off, plus $16 mail-in-rebate. No complain.

5-0 out of 5 stars I didn't expect blazing speed but its good enough.
I guess since my expectations for this card were low, I got more than what I expected.

On a single large file test, it achieved a write speed of 16.5X and a read speed of 46X. So, no its not a high speed card, but I have had bottom line LExars write at much slower speed than this for more money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great SD Card
I have a Canon PowerShot SD400 and this card is great for it. The write speed is blazing which makes shot to shot times as small as possible. Plus amazon is selling it for almost $20 off retail.

5-0 out of 5 stars Card working great for 5 months and counting
This 512mb Ultra II SD Card makes a world of difference if you have the right camera to take advantage of it.

I currently use this card with my Canon SD200 which has a Digic II Processor. This awesome camera/card combo allowed me to quickly take multiple pics of runners during the LA Marathon.I was able to focus on certain runners and rapidly take pics before moving on to the next.

After the 5 months of constant use I have not experience any problems with this card.I highly recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Buyers beware.
If you decide to buy this Ultra SD Sandisk card, make sure you have the newer Sandisk card reader. I have the Sandisk model SDDR-73 card reader and couldn't read the photos taken on this card.Evidently, my card reader needs a firmware upgrade that is not available on the SanDisk site.I wrote the tech support from SanDisk and they are bunch of idiots. They told me to return the ultra SD and sent me another one. When I got the replacement ultra SD card, it also would not read on my card reader.I know my older card reader is not defective because it can read my non-ultra SD cards. Finally, I had to buy the SanDisk 8 in 1 card Reader/Writer which can read this stupid card. This Ultra Card doesn't seems to record photos with my digital camera any faster than my non ultra SD card.

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Sandisk 512MB Secure Digital Ultra II, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this 512MB card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Card
I got this card with a Dimage z3 and it works wonders. it can hold 499 pictures at 4mp and standard format. 1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible customer support
About 6 months after I started using my SanDisk card in my Canon camera, I started to get "memory error" problems.I reformatted the card in the camera and that got things working for a few more months. Now, reformatting using the camera doesn't work.

I called SanDisk customer support and they told me I need to reformat using a card reader. Then they told me I am supposed to reformat the card twice a month using a card readder. When I told them I don't have one, they told me to go buy one, or go visit a local Staples or Office Depot and try to use theirs! Are these guys kidding???Reformat twice a month?Walk into a store and ask the sales guy if I can borrow the use of a card reader????No way!

When I insisted that SanDisk replace the card, they reluctantly agreed to do so, and even then, they said they would only replace the card this once since I failed to follow the "standard procedure" of using a card reader to reformat the card. All this over a $25 card.It would have be so much easier for them to simply offer to replace the card at the outset without all the attitude.I'm never buying SanDisk again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality Card. Period.
My Canon S410 came with a tiny stock card and I soon found the need to upgrade. This is a 4 MP camera and I set it on medium size and quality and can fit about 400 pictures on one card.
(My wife however actually finds a way to fill the whole thing in a day!) It has great compatiblity, size and dependability. As it fits in the canon, into the card reader built into my PC and has never never corrupted. The only regret I have is that I spent $40 on it at a local "Costco's" and now it's $25 at amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD AS I KNOW IT
IT MY FIRST COMPACT FLASH CARD SO NOTHING TO COMPARE IT TO.ITS GOOD AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED.

The SanDisk SDCFB-256-A10 256MB CompactFlash Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Never had any problems
I have several of these, and I've never had any problems with any of them.I've used them in my Canon camera and my Nex1a MP3 player; both work fine, and are interchangeable.

5-0 out of 5 stars FOR NOW BETTER THAN OTHERS FOR COOLPIX 3100
I HAVE A NIKON COOLPIX 3100 WHICH IS QUITE SLOWWRITING PICTURES TO THE COMPACT FLASH (CF) CARD, LEADING TOA CONSIDERABLE DELAY FOR THE NEXT SHOT.
BEFORE THIS VIKING I OFTEN USED OTHER BRANDS OF 256 MBCF CARDS : LEXAR 12X ANDSIMPLE TECH AND SOMETIMES 64MB SAN DISK CF CARD .
A RELATIVE MADE ME A GIFT AND IN FACT I WAS ONLY THINKING TO USE IT AS A STEP CARD FOR BACK UPS,
    IREALLY BECAMESURPRISED.
I HAD ITONLY FOR A SHORT TIME, BUTTIME ENOUGH TO BE CONVINCED THAT FORMY NIKON COOLPIX 3100 SEENS TO BE PRETTY FASTER THAN OTHERS IN WRITING IMAGES.
PRICE SEENS TO BE VERY GOOD.
DONT KNOW ABOUTPERFORMANCE IN OTHER BRANDS AND MODELS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome
This card is really good, and because i have a slow camera, this card is still super fast. definately recomnended. and not a bad deal either!

1-0 out of 5 stars don't trust your precious memories
I purchased this card a couple months ago and have taken many pictures and bragged about this card to many people. But yesterday, only 4 months after buying, when I tried to download the pictures from my childs 3rd birthday, nothing.NOTHING! Card memory error it told me, translating to NOTHING! Now I have no pictures of my childs 3rd birthday thanks to this card.I would gladly pay twice the cost to have an effective memory card and have my childs birthday pictures.I would not purchase this again and will not recommend to anyone else!

1-0 out of 5 stars Caveat Emptor
I received this card for free with the purchase of a digital camera.I had owned a Viking SmartMedia card in the past and had no problems, so I ignored all of the bad reviews of this product. However, after only a few months the card died while saving an image. All of my data is unrecoverable and the card refuses to work.I would think twice before purchasing a Viking product.Even though it is inexpensive compared to some of the other brands, you get what you pay for, and I wouldn't trust my irreplaceable memories to a malfuctioning card. ... I haven't even plugged these in and am already annoyed. The cord is designed moreto show off the SONY logo instead of comfort or what you're use to with any other set. I am not going to sacrifice comfort just so I can act as their billboard.Instead of meeting in the middle, both L & R wires come together on one side, so you have this stupid metal clip/logo hanging right next to your face, hitting you as you move around.I tried them on and was instantly annoyed.Who the hell designed these stupid things?Keep looking, these suck.

4-0 out of 5 stars Comfort, comfort, comfort
Did I mention that these are verycomfortable?Well, they fit snug and comfy and sound very clear. When it comes time to replace the awful headphones that probably came with your portable player you might try these.Essentially these have the same specs as another pair Sony makes that is black and without the extension cord. If color is not an issue take the black pair. Why? Well they don't come with an extension like these do. The extension is a pain. If you use them without the extension they will be snugand good only if you re not moving and a little person. If you are average size or bigger and on the go with your portable the original cord is too short. If you run , bike, walk or skate for exercise with music the original cord is no good. If you use the cord it is overly long. I mean you could probably strangle yourself in cord there is so much. I don't get why they didn't stick with the original formula which was perfect. Anyway the sound is very good compared to most originals that come with portables. I got a pair for one of my sons and he likes them, except the length or shortness of the cord. One more thing, the price at Amazon seems better than most other outlets since theyseem to charge up to $20 more.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very nice sound, but...
.. the left earphone has gone nearly dead after three months.Probably my fault. The wires are *very* thin, and I pinched one of them in the lid of the plastic case.Going to look for something a bit more sturdy.
    --------------------------------
I gave this a lower rating earlier because I thought one of the earbuds had gone south due to a pinched thin wire. Not so.If one or both of the earbuds loses volume and clarity, check the little screen covering the speaker nozzle. There should be a tiny pinhole in the center of it.If it gets clogged with earwax, the sound will drop dramatically.*Carefully* clean it out with a pin, and all will be well again!

4-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT HEADPHONES!
These headphones are great! The sound quality is excellent and the in-ear style is much more comfortable than any other type of headphone. Good price also. I use these headphones for running, climbing, hiking and it's been under the sun, in the sand, accidentally in water and been through some tough treatment, yet withstands and plays great, even after 1.5 years!

3-0 out of 5 stars Sound and price Good, cord BAD!
What others have said about the good sound quality of these earphones is true, and they are also very comfortable, much more so than the Ipod phones that I retired when I got these. This is my second set which I got on recommendations of some of the reviewers. The first set was white, and the insulation on the wires of those started dissolving and falling off after only six weeks. Some reviewers said the wire on the black ones was better so I tried those.I sit here another six weeks later with headphones that are disintegrating, the insulation has turned to a soft putty-like consistency and is just falling off the wiring in hunks.Perhaps users that wear the product outside of clothing where perspiration is less of an issue would be more satisfied with this product, unfortunately job safety prevents me from wearing the Ipod and it's wiring exposed. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Despite what you may have heard
all USB cables are NOT created equal. Belkin's cables are good enough stuff on average, and reasonably priced at less than seven dollars here. I've learned from experience that the BAD stuff won't make itself known until it becomes intermittent a few seconds or years after you first connect it. The process of discovering the fault can easily be more expensive than the added cost of good quality cables.

5-0 out of 5 stars Belking rocks!!
Nice long cable. Had doubts wondering if it would decrease performance. Happy to say i was wrong. Perfermod just as good using the long and shorts cables.

4-0 out of 5 stars All USB cables are created equal.
At $3.99, this is a good price for a name brand USB cable, but only because they tend to dramatically overcharge on their prices. There are no differences with USB cables other than length and the shape of the connectors placed on each end. There are plenty of online retailers that sell USB cables for less than $1.00 and they will work just as fine as any high priced one you may see at BestBuy, CircuitCity, Staples, OfficeMax, Radio Shack, etc. Many of the high priced cables will include gold plated connectors which is just a gimmick, they provide no better connection that those without it. Also USB cables do not have speeds associated with them they way computers and laptops do. There is no such thing as a USB 1.1 or 2.0 cable so if you have an older USB cable when USB 1.1 was the only thing out, it will work perfectly with the newer USB 2.0 technology. They are made exactly the same, you're told you need a newer "high speed" hoping that you'll throw away you perfectly capable current cable and buy the new $40 gold-plated zero-loss oxygen-free cable when you really don't need it. As I said at earlier, $3.99 is a good price for this set, but you can find better if you shop around. If Amazon is the only site you trust buying from, definitely get these.

1-17-2005 Update. At the current price, this is no-longer a good deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where's my thing?
This is the best price and quality you'll find for a USB cable.I wish i would have bought more than one, just don't have a need for another one.Buy, buy, buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer Cable
I bought a new printer on Dell and was going to buy a USB cable from them but when I saw $25 for the cable, I decided to look elsewhere. When I saw this cable on Amazon for such a low price, I was concerned that it wouldn't work with my printer.I received it quickly from Amazon and it worked great.Higly recommend to everyone. ...
