I LOVE IT!
I was very hesitant in getting this unit at first.Why?Because of the name "Flying Cow" and the giant cartoon graphic painted on the top of the unit. Also the "Ren & Stimpy" font on the face of the unit turned me off as well.

This IS the most unprofessional LOOKING peice of equipment in my studio.

I still don't understand what analog to digital converting has to do with Cows, or why they are marketing this in such a cartoonish way, instead of towards professionals.

But, I couldn't find anything else in the price range, and decided to get it.

I am not dissapointed in the unit at all.Very pleased.

It even remembers your settings after the power is removed, and not just turned off at the power switch on the front of the unit, but when the unit is completely unplugged from the AC power.

It has BOTH AES pro, and SPDIF consumer INS and OUTS.

They use connectors that act BOTH as an XLR AND a 1/4 phone jack, your choice.

You can go A to D, and D to A both at the same time. It is two converters in one.

And I have used it to feed directly into the digital CD input of the Soundblaster Live Value card, and I get professional clean digital audio into the computer without needing an expensive audio card.

I used to use a DAT machine in record mode as my Analog to Digital converter, but didn't like having to put the wear on the DAT machine, so I got the FLYING COW.But DAT machines only work in 16 bit, and the FLYING COW is 24 bit, even BETTER than a DAT machine.

Instead of buying an expensive audio card for the computer, a better idea is to get the FLYING COW, and keep all the analog audio outside of the computer and in another room.
