More to this stick than looks
This is more than a novelty stick that has a flashy finish. It is one of the best balanced 7A sticks I've ever used. From a 'flashy' point of view it will get attention, especially under a black light.

However, it is also a serious stick that has a reinforced strike zone that will protect it from the hardest rimshot, and has a relatively large nylon tip that is somewhere between a ball and teardrop shape. The tip gives excellent rebound as well as good definition for cymbal work.

Another thing I like about this stick is the weight, which is slightly lighter than most 7A sticks.

I do have a single complaint about the stick, which is it gets a bit slippery when your hands sweat during long sessions. This can be easily overcome by using a good stick tape like Vater (ASIN B0002E3CY0) or Promark (ASIN B0002CZR7W).

These sticks have performed so well for me (after taping them) that I use them almost exclusively. I also own other Macrolus models such as the American Flag motif, optic purple, optic black and optic gold. Each is an attention getter, and each is consistent in weight, straightness and feel.

Every common stick size is available in a large number of optic finishes, so if you are looking for a 5A you'll get the same results. Do be aware that these sticks are slightly lighter than the same size from the majors such as Firth, Promark and Regal. ... Read more
