Sennheiser's low-cost e815S dynamic mic is a winner!
The e815S is currently Sennheiser's least expensive hand-held (unidirectional) dynamic vocal mic, designed for live performance. It's shape is similar to a Shure SM-58, in that it has an integrated "ball top" wind screen, and a dark gray tapered body. It features an "off-on" switch and a male XLR (balanced, low impedance) output connector.


To compare this mic to another very well known and thought of mic, the e815S has a slightly brighter top end, a less pronounced midrange peak and less low end proximity effect than a Shure SM-58. It also provides a slightly hotter output than an SM-58, probably because of it's neodymium diaphragm design. The diaphragm appears to be mounted very well as it exhibits very little handling noise.


The brighter character of this mic helps a live vocal cut through the "mix" of live instruments. The lower proximity effect (bass boost when held close to the vocalist's mouth),also contributes to a cleaner-sounding signal. The silent off-on switch is a nice bonus too. The cost for this German-made mic is pretty amazing... they can be had in "three packs" for $100, or around $50 for an individual mic.


If you are looking for a good-sounding, durable, low-cost live performance vocal mic, the e815S is definately worth trying out. This is not an inexpensive "knock-off" of another mic; this is a genuine German-made Sennheiser.

Awesome studio mic for the price!
I was setting up a home studio for recording an acousitc foursome using track-at-a-time recording.I started off trying to use our stage mics, the venerable Shure SM-58s.What a mistake.I diddn't realize what a difference a mic could make till I purchased this one!

I looked at a variety of higher end mics including the $700 KSM44.I'm sure the higher priced ones are better, but I certainly couldn't tell the difference.This KSM27, is absolutely breathtaking!I used it to record male and female voices, acoustic guitar, acoustic contra bass, saxophone, clarinet, and both wood and plastic recorders.

The reproduction is spot on!Its accurate across the entire frequency spectrum, picking up the deep growl of the contra, the biting edge of the saxophone, and the smooth sweetness of the clarinet with equal accuracy.

If you haven't used a condesner mic before, there's a couple of things you should be aware of.First, you need a preamp that supplies phantom power for the mic (most do).Second, these mics are VERY sensitive.This means you can move a foot or so away from the mic and it will actually do a better job of accurately recording your voice or instrument.It also means you'll need a very quiet environment.I used a small room, draped the walls with blankets to absorb sound, and removed items like ticking clocks.But watch out for cars going by outside, or neighborhood dogs barking.

as the 6600 is TOOO fat to handle all the time :D :D...

This is a DREAM piece... Its a must buy... Its sleek, stylish..
and it does its job to the utmost satisfaction...
It provide high quality stereophonic sound and has no CONS at all...
Charging time is VERY less and it has talktime of 3-3.30hrs and a standby time of around 3-4 days!!!

I bought this bluetooth headset and am currently using it with my Sony Ericsson 610. It is really light weight and when you put it on you hardly feel it on your ear. Prior to this I tried the HBH-30 which is a little bulky. I had problems after pairing the HBH-30 which is why I replaced it with HBH-65. Took me couple minutes to pair with my phone and very easy handling.
CONS:
- The power on light is hardly visible during day time which makes it difficult to figure out whether it is ON or OFF.
- Less talk time compared to HBH-30

Overall I really liked this and I recomend to anyone who does not have to use the headset for long hours.
