5-0 out of 5 stars Nice bench, good value
I bought this for my children to use with their keyboard. It is ready-assembled and fairly sturdy - perhaps a little on the small side for a large adult, but great for my children aged 9 and under and ok for me (I'm only 5'4)

Nice bench for the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not that bad
This is quit a small amp, mainly for Bass Guitar use is best, it packs quite a punch in fact, as far as gigs go, it is not intirrly useless as the other reveiwer may think, ive used it in small gigs (bars) it is usefull in any small room even, if the knobs are turned the right way u can get different tones and qualities that are sutible for different songs, i say Beggineer? buy it, mediocar?buy it

3-0 out of 5 stars Good for practice, not much else.
This amplifier was my first one, as it was relatively cheap, small, and (I hoped), would just be a basic amplifier without too many knobs for me to set incorrectly. As far all that, this is a fine small amplifier suitable for practicing quietly, definitely in no way show/gig material. The only beef I have with this amp is that upon being turned off with the guitar cable in the input jack, a small chirp is heard. I'm not sure if it's an indication of low quality or if it's supposed to do it, but it is a bit annoying. Okay for the money, if you're just getting into guitar and don't know if you want to make a larger investment, this is the way to go. If you're a practiced musician, you've heard way better and should shell out the extra bucks for a higher-quality unit. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Does its job after some tinkering
I bought this recently after the release of Garage Band for OS X. I'm going to share some information that is negative but I am overall happy with the features of this product, with the OS X support, and would recommend it for purchase. The features that I was looking were analog instrument input and the XLR microphone input, along with the best price I could find.I might get into home recording, but I didn't want to spend a ton of money until I was sure I would stick with it.

First off the information in the M-Audio web site lists that the box is able to sample up to 24bit/96kHz.It isn't a big deal to me yet, but I haven't figured out how to change the sample rate. This may be a function of the application but I can't figure out how to change it.

The second issue I had was with drivers. When I got the unit I downloaded the latest drivers 1.5.8 off their website that were supposed to be for use with OS X 10.3 (Panther).I was never able to get anything but squealing out of my machine with those drivers -but the 1.5.8 drivers worked fine on my PowerBook.Out of desparation I installed the drivers 1.5.1 off the CD that came with the MobilePre and the squealing went away. While I am happy that I can record on my desktop I wonder why I have to back down on the driver version.

The third thing is that there is sometimes some sort of latency issue with the unit.Sometimes as I play and switch settings in Garage Band, there will start to be some lag before what I play comes out of the computer. It makes it pretty impossible to play.Strangely when you open up System Preferences and change the "Latency" setting the lag goes away.It doesn't really matter what you change the latency to, it goes away just with changing.

I have not used the unit for USB audio output so I can't comment on that feature.Using the headphones in the MobilePre's monitor port would be useful if you were using the USB audio output, but for recording I find that listening to my unprocessed guitar signal is not all that useful. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars FC-5: Not for Piano Players
Growing up with an acoustic piano, I was uncomfortable with how the FC-5 Sustain Pedal felt. For me to tell when I was pressing the pedal or not, I had to take my shoes off.Unwilling to be an environmental hazard, I decided to purchase a pedal that has the feel of an acoustic piano's pedal.(Much better than buying that yellow tape to surround myself with...)

If you are looking for the feel of an acoustic piano's pedal, I would recommend the FC-4.Or if you want the same feel with a pedal that can do more than just sustain, I'd recommend the FC-3.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Rewiring Necessary
I'm new to keyboards and am still trying to make my hands work together. The melody is coming along fine with my right hand but integrating chords with my left sounded choppy so I thought it might sound better with a sustain pedal. My music is a little better but the pedal itself works great.I read the comments about it working backwards and tried some experiments. If the keyboard is powered off when you plug in the sustain pedal it will work just fine, but if it has power to the keyboard when you plug it in then it will work backwards. To fix it just turn the power off and on again.
The pedal causes the sound to die away over 3-4 seconds with the peddal pushed and if you release it early it will shut the sound off early. My keyboard has a very good piano sound when set to Grand Piano and with the sustained sound it doesn't loose any of that piano sound.
The peddle itself looks fairly well constructed especially considering it's low price.I've only had it a few weeks so I can't speak about how well it will stand up to repeated use.It seems good enough for someone who wants to play for their own enjoyment and maybe a few friends.

4-0 out of 5 stars This sustain pedal works fine
The people who said this pedal works the opposite of a normal sustain pedal may not know that the keyboard has to be turned OFF when the pedal is plugged in. This pedal works fine for me, though it slides a bit on carpet. This does not have the feel of a regular piano pedal, but I'm quite happy with it, for what it is.

3-0 out of 5 stars This is Normally Closed circuit (Not what I expected!)
This is a "Normally Closed" circuit (Current flows).Meaning that when you press on it the circuit opens (No Current flows). If your using for a keyboard or anything else this will be important to know.I'm going to rewire it so that it's "Normally Open".Hopefully it will then work ok.The description doesn't say if it's NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) which makes for problems....Mike.

1-0 out of 5 stars reverse order pedal...
I ordered this pedal thinking that it would be like a normal pedal would...you press it down, it sustains your notes. When I got it, it came in a box with no instructions at all...so, I plugged it in, and on my keyboard it showed that the pedal was in use. When I went to play notes, it sustained them-and when I pressed down the pedal, it didn't.I returned it, because I know I can get a better one elsewhere...I was just very shocked that Yamaha would be like that.Maybe it was a glitch with that one pedal. It is good for people who are lazy and want to have their notes sustain all the time without pressing anything... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Tuning For Dummies
I bought this as a beginning violin student a few years ago. I got tired of waiting until my lessons for my instructor to tune my violin. You simply attach it anywhere on the instrument and pluck the strings. The number of arrows on the left and right of the display tell you if the string is flat or sharp.Your goal is to get a readout of 3 arrows on each side.Too few on the left? It's sharp.Loosen peg.Too few on the right? It's flat.Tighten peg.Tune and pluck, tune and pluck...bingo!Everyone I've shown it to wants one. It's a little expensive, but if you want a fast and easy way to tune, this is for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Godsend!!
I just received this tuner today and I am already in love with it! I have a 12 string accoustic/electric guitar, and though it sounds just beautiful, it is a real pain to tune! The fact that my hearing is not as good as it was in my youth does not help matters. I have a tuner I got a few years ago, but it is so difficult to use, it has spent the years in the compartment of my guitar case. I recently have researched via the internet just about every tuner made, and decided to take a chance on the Intellitouch PT1. Am I glad I did! It is SO EASY TO USE! Within minutes after taking it out of the box I had the 12ver perfectly tuned! It attaches by a built-in clamp onto the headstock, and works by 'reading' the string you pluck by vibration. No mikes or wires! You can even do it in the dark with the back-light feature! This tuner costs a bit more, but it will be a well used piece of equipment - not buried in the compartment of the guitar case! If you are in the market for a tuner, I highly recommend the PT1.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buying my third presently
I have used this tuner for years, loving it the whole while.Previously I've used everything from a pitch pipe, my home piano, memory, chromatics...other electric ones and pick ups. This one is the sweetest I've used thus far.Other than my own I have bought a friend one and am now buying my mother one as well.I have used this tuner often to tune guitar, violin/fiddle, mandolin, and dulcimer with no complaints. The last review stating it was overrated because it was a pain to deal with while bowing....well umm...EVERYTHING is difficult while bowing, lol.I always pluck my violin/fiddle while tuning then check it later and it's always true. This tuner is the handiest I've ever seen and I recommend it to all players...everyone of mymusical friends who does not have one yearns after my own but unfortunately I can't afford to buy everyone one!

3-0 out of 5 stars Overrated
We bought one of these because they looked cool. But, it did not work well when bowed and was more of a pain than it was worth.Instead buy a cheap Korg tuner and a cheap clip on pickup for your bridge.Even with an entire orchestra class playing, they still work great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gnarly strings for a tubular price.
These are the standard strings I've been using since about 2000. And after going through only 4 pairs since then, I doubt I'll be changing brands. Especially at this price. Just look at that. In just about any store they're up to 3 times as expensive. Don't let the price fool you. Sure, there are some strings around 20 bucks, but that doesn't mean they're better. Ernie Ball is one of (if not, the) top brands when it comes to musical instruments and accessories. The sound quality and tone with these suckers is phenominal. You can bend, whammy, slap and pluck these things as hard as you can, and they won't break. In fact, I've been on the same set of strings since about October 2003 and they're still working like the day I put them in.

There isn't a whole lot to say about strings. I mean, they're what you need to play the guitar and that's about it. These work well, therefore, they're good. Nab a few extra sets of these while they're so cheap. ... Read more

The stand it self is just what i wanted. But the screws are missing in mine.Am trying to find a phone number so i can call company and get them to send me some.I can't seem to find contact info anywhere.Very frustrated which is why my rating is so low.Shipped fast and was what i expected, light weight, portable, built of good grade metal and storable.

I purchased the Yamaha PSR-290AD 61 Note keyboard.Although the keyboard will sit on this stand it is not very stable.I am sending it back.I now have a Yamaha L3C stand.Much better.

3-0 out of 5 stars Is this a Yamaha stand?
...it doesn't appear to be.It seems to be a generic universal keyboard stand. It therefore doesn't fit securely. The Yamaha PSR-290 has molded indentations in the bottom that the stand should fit into, but they don't.Although the stand is sturdy, the keyboard just sits loosely on top could easily fall off and crash to the floor if bumped by a child.

Also, like others who have wirtten reviews, I thought the bolts were missing when I began assembly. They provide an Allen wrench in a little plastic bag and you expect the bolts to be there too, but they are screwed deeply into the legs and hard to see - the instructions should note this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Oops! My fault
I post a bad review few minutes ago. But I just found out the screws are actually attached to the stand legs already. Well, problem solved. It's a OK product after all. I'm happily playing my keyboard now. ... Read more
