Headphones made by Creative Labs?
I saw these at the Sharper Image yesterday. They are identical to the pair that I own made by Creative Labs. They do a reasonable job, but the sound is pretty tinny. The only use that I can find for them is to watch movies in an airplane. There is some noise reduction, but they are useless for all but voices...music sounds terrible.
I paid about $30 for them from an on-line vendor.

Doesn't Even Filter HVAC Noise....
I bought the headphones hoping to quiet the environment around me while I program computer applications. These headphones don't filter any outside noises, only half of an air conditioner duct noise. On the plus side, when turned them on and listened to music, the headphones produce music like I have never heard before! I am not sure about the added expandable headband as it goes against the grain in your hair. I plan to keep the headphones for my portable CD player, but for noise cancellation, I am still shopping around. I gave the second star for the Sharper Image customer service. I had an issue with shipping and they resolved it immediately. Always shop the Sharper Image, but opt for the higher priced headphones. ... Read more

Quite simply the best headphones I've used
I tried these as a replacement for a pair of Sennheiser HD265's that I had that kept breaking on me. The M40fs sounds, subjectively, much better at about a third of the price. I'm a recording artist, so I'm looking for something with a lot of detail in sound reproduction with a wide frequency response. With the M40fs, I'm catching mistakes I would have missed otherwise. And the detail, especially on the high-end is very clean--not "hyped" as in comparable Sony headphones. I can tell whether a song was originally recorded on digital or analog tape--that's how accurate the high-end is.

Some reviews I've read have mentioned these headphones as being uncomfortable or cheaply made. Personally, I find them very comfortable, though they're a bit small for an over-the-ear style headphone. They fit tightly, which I like, though you might not. As far as the cheapness, they do *feel* a bit cheap. There's a bit of exposed wiring near the swivelling part of the headphone which looks like it can break at any time. So far, it's held up well for me, though.

Another minor drawback is that the main connector is a 1/4" phono plug. I have to use an adaptor to listen on my computer or iPod, which means I've got this 4" thing sticking out of my headphone jack. I put up with it for the sound quality, though. ... Read more

Freedom, but at the cost of quality
Having snapped the cord on a previous pair of Sennheiser headphones, I decided to buy a wireless pair because I fancied the freedom of being able to trot around the house without restriction. The previous Sennheiser 'phones I've had have been tremendous, without distorting even at high volumes. These ones, however, are rubbish.

When not receiving an active signal (both headset and base are on, but no sound outputted from the amp), a constant hiss can be heard, and if the volume is turned up (and I'm not talking "loud" here - a moderate level) the speakers fart and spit in a quite frankly depressing manner. So, in between tracks you get crackling, during the track you get crapping. And then, at mid-range, the sound isn't very rich either.

Not very good at all, but, hey, they are cheap, so what do you expect? Either invest in a more expensive set, or stick to the wires.

I bought these headphones in February and have greatly enjoyed them.I walk all over my house, single story 1700 sf and never have a problem.I use them mostly for TV and music.I have not experienced any reception problems or high pitched buzing like others have.I recommend these headphones.

The hissing will drive you mad!
I bought these headphones, hoping that they will allow me the freedom to move around the house while still being able to hear the stereo. These headphones do have great range: I was 50 feet from the base, with two walls of separation, and could still hear the sound as clearly as when I was right in front of the base. Unfortunately, the clarity of the sound, even when you're right next to the base, is not very good. A high-pitched whistle pierces my ears, and I just had to return the headphones. I don't recommend them.

They break
Great sound.Fantastic sound.Then one day, you'll try to adjust them, and they'll just shear off at the post.Not worth the money.

Nice Sound, Questionable Construction
I am not a headphone expert, but these headphones sound great when listening to my rock and classical mp3's. They are crisp, with tight bass. Ear fatigue is minimal for me when I have them on at low levels all day at work.

I question the "Collapsible" claim in the headphone title. The ear pieces swivel 90 degrees, but that's about it. The headband part does not fold, bend, or move otherwise. These may be too bulky if you need to stuff them in a laptop bag.

One of the ear pieces on my set just broke off after owning them for about 2 months. I was quite frustrated by this, but Koss offers a lifetime warranty, so I'll be sending them in for an exchange.

Very Poor Craftsmanship
I bought my KOSS PRO3AA headphones at an electronics store.They last about 2 months, then the right headphone attachment broke while I was putting them on.They were not abused, and after much closer inspection I could see that the swivel is a very thin part, made of plastic, and had broken under normal usage.

While the sound in these are great, they only lasted 2 months.That isn't very long for $50 headphones.Koss wants me to ship them to their repair center at my expense, and pay for the return shipping costs as well.I am just going to spend that $10+ on something else more durable. ... Read more
