Tough as nails protection for your Ovation
Ovation is a company that knows how special guitars are to its customers. To meet their customers desire for quality protection for their instruments, Ovation makes available these hardshell cases with a form fitting interior. I've an Ovation that is almost 20 years old now, and I've hauled it through a good chunk of the midwest. The case has quite a few scuff marks, but the guitar still looks like new. I know that some of the bumps and bruises the case has endured over the years could have seriously damaged the guitar if it was in a lesser case. I wouldn't own an Ovation without the case, the guitars are too nice to not want them properly protected. Since the cases are form fitting, make sure you do purchase the correct model case for your guitar. You'd never get a deep bowl guitar to fit in a shallow bowl case. ... Read more

Looks really good..
The first thing that I noticed when I recieved it where the latches. I hadn't read anywhere that there were these twist latches on it, but they look to be very tough. They take little bit more effort to get loose than the traditional ones, but eventually they'll probably turn out to be good.

I was expecting a little bit lighter case since they had advertised it as being lightweight, but for it to be able to protect it properly I think it is fine.

The handle is leather padded and I can get a very good grip on it. Only thing that bothers me is that it's hinges look a little thin. I'm not sure how much they pressure they will take.

The inside padding is nice and my dreadnought guitar fits perfectly into it. It has a small compartment for the your essentials. It's lockable, but you need to by your own lock. Which is probably a good thing because the locks on cases are usally really easy to break up.

It looks really tough. I applied a considerable amount of pressure to the top of it and it held nicely. I will be putting it to the ultimate test in about two weeks when it will go through 3 different flights. Hopefully it will do what it is supposed too.

I haven't read anything on the warranty, but it has a limited lifetime warranty.

Overall I am very satisfied. It is priced reasonably and its very tough. I would give it about 4 1/2 stars, because of the hinges on the handle, otherwise its a sure 5. ... Read more
