Spend the extra money for a more reliable turntable
I purchased this turntable brand new. It worked great for a few days. I only played 3 or 4 records a day. I thought it was very convenient the way the turntable could be hooked up to my mini stereo system. Several days later, for no apparent reason, it started to play records at multiple speeds from fast to slow and back while in the 33RPM setting. I checked all the components and referred back to the manual settings. Couldn't find the problem. Within 2 weeks, the start and stop functions became faulty and the turntable would simply stop spinning, mid-song without warning. My advice is to spend the extra money for a better product. Stanton S-250 Single DJ CD Player
I have used this for only about 2 months for my business.It worked great until this last week.I'm getting a delayed start time and much skipping.I am no longer able to use it for my business because of it's inconsisitency.

I didn't receive any warranty or trouble-shooting information with the product, only basic operational instructions.So, now I'm in the process of tracking this information.

Unlocking the Gemini CD1800X
Overall this is a very good unit by Gemini and it's their best seller by far. For what you get it is extremely economical but that's been Gemini's calling card for years.

It is jammed packed with features as you can see and very versatile with its ability to perform at about a sub-par level as a Pioneer CDJ 1000. But don't get carried away. It's still a Gemini and they don't cater to the upscale DJ that demands more from their pro CD players.

I like the fact that it has the hot cue points and mater tempo control. These seem to get used plenty in pro CD players. The instant start is plausible and the fact that its slot loading tells me that they really wanted to put out a solid unit the Gemini CD1800X.

I would have like to see the anti skip feature longer than 10 seconds. They should have given it more memory to handle a longer time. I would have also like to see a cleaner design like their CDJ-02 but because there are so many features to this unit and it's so compact I guess it's the best they could do.

Good Mp3 Player If You Know What You Are Doing!
9 hours to install this?I don't think so!It took me a while but not even close to 9 hours...maybe an hour at most!I even think you can get away with NOT installed RealOne Player!Just make sure you download the firmware version on Sonic Blue's web site according to your part number.You should be up and running in no time!

Now for the bad and good points:

Bad:

- The software that comes with this are so obsolete you might as well throw it out.
- Can't tell which song is playing from the file
- Sketchy "Getting Started Guide"
- Slow transfer rates by default

Good:

- This IS somewhat upgradeable up to 128 megabytes
- You can fit up about 18 or so mp3 songs in 112k
- Great if you want something that has hit songs you don't care about which one that plays.
- Has random and repeat modes not common on more sophisicated player
- Display does show the bitrate at least
- Has a belt clip so you can jog with it on your hip.

If you are waiting at the airport, in the backseat of your car on a long trip, or jogging, this is a really good mp3 player to consider.

The PMP 300 is back!
Wow, I have this mp3 player...the problem is:I bought it 1999, and it was then called the Rio PMP 300.

This version, the Rio One, is basically an upgrade in memory of a five year old player.Same media, same case, different colors.I have a lot of problems with mine, but mostly flakey, annoying problems.It works...sometimes.

So, be forewarned:this is a first-generation mp3 player.It is the digital audio equivalent of the dodo.Nice and meaty, but don't expect it to last.

Run, don't walk away from this product
Mine just stopped working after about 1 month. I returned it, and got another one that stopped working after about 3 months. The batteries lasted almost as long as the player. I now have a Nomad Muvo (64mb), which I've had for about 2 years, and love. I highly recommend the Muvo for someone looking for a small, reliable, mp3 player. It's actually less expensive than this Rio junk.

bad would be a good word for this product. I am writing this in the first day that I have this product. It sucks really bad. It sais that it costs $100 regularly.Ha ha ha, I wouldn't pay 50 cents for it, let alone $30.

This mp3 player is so un believably BAD. It takes like 9 hours to finally set up. I bought mine about 2 months ago. guess what, it broke. the thing is so bad. no wonder it was so cheap. the customer service is also horrible. the thing just stopped turning on. i put a new battery in too. when i got it, i opened the battery slot and one of the things that closes it broke off so i had my battery taped in the whole time.
